As someone who works at a retailer that sells makeup, single shadows are still super popular amongst the general population! Most of the time it’s people looking to replace a well loved shade in a palette that they had finished up completely.
I love single shadows, but I like the ones without packaging to just pop into a palette. If I have one that comes in packaging I more often than not just depot it. I'm glad to hear people still buy them, I want more brands to come out with singles. I also like to buy a shade I'm interested in that I don't have instead of buying a whole palette for 1 pop of colour.
seriously !! so many people buy makeup but arent apart of the youtube community, it really irks me when youtubers talk about brands and their launches as if youtube is the whole market
@@vanessayh Everyone on youtube talk about how brands like MAC and Nars and Urban Decay are dropping off, when in reality theyre still so popular in the general population because its stuff that people know and love. You’d try to talk them about better formulations or brands but nope, no one wants to stray! Especially in Australia where we don’t get a lot of new brands anyways
I love how you get straight to the point and don’t jump around the obvious. You point out why you don’t like the product/ why it isn’t for you, and move on. I LIVE for these videos.
Yes, people do still buy single shadows. One and done eyeshadow looks, people who want custom colors or color stories. Just like people buy super shock shadows, same concept.
Yknow I grew up thinking I wasn’t pretty enough to use makeup and thanks to this channel I’m slowly starting to fall in love with it and get confidence so thank you so much Angelika
I will say, I do buy single shadows occasionally, I like pops of colour and duochrome, because when I used to travel it was easy to throw some bronzer in the crease and then depending on what I was wearing I could pick from a few single shadows to put in my inner corner to bring attention to my eyes in a quick and easy way, and also it was easy to coordinate to my outfit without having to bring multiple different colour themed palettes
I really love your antihauls! Its so great to see content thats not so focused on consumerism and also encourages less wastesful consumption! Especially that i find that every content creator seems to say that every single product is amazing... your makeup is as flawless as always! Much love 💕
I really prefer beauty youtubers who are realistic about what normal people would wear and want in everyday life, I honestly feel like bigger channels loose touch with their audience in that regard. That being said, I love these videos😌
Commenting for engagement and also to thank you not only for relaxing me on a super busy shift waitressing, but convincing me to take the plunge finally with colourpop
I'm biased, but there's not much worth trying from Bite until they FINALLY bring back their lipsticks. I'm honestly almost over the entire brand after almost 2 years of teasing a re-launch and the how casually they put cinnamon oil in their lip glosses. The glosses is my own petty gripe because I would have loved another Bite lip product, only to be thwarted by a cinnamon allergy.
That's an unusual allergy but I feel your pain... I'm allergic to lavender and everyone puts it in everything from skincare/hair care to setting sprays and lip gloss 🤦
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, that's too bad. I definitely feel you. I have a friend who has a horrible allergy to floral scents. I really feel like so many things are unnecessarily scented nowadays. Like, I have a face wash that I enjoy, I found out the other day that it was scented. Why does a product that I use for 20-30 seconds need to be scented?
I like the notepad palettes, I think they’re aesthetically pleasing. also you mentioned about it being more for kids because of the formula/design... Buuuuuuuuuut Colourpop releases Disney collections every 2 days, and half their shadows are ashy and horrible kickback, but people still falling for the cash grab🤷🏽♀️
Tatcha shipping is $35 dollars to the UK. Pricey, but probably worth it since everyone raves about their products! Full face of Tatcha please and thank you!
does anyone know about the shipping and customs of color pop to Germany? Bc the last time I ordered make up from the us, customs decided they were “illegal “ in Germany and send them back, and I really don’t want to waste money again...
Dont know how relevant it is to Germany, but last year I ordered from Colourpop to Austria, came quick and intack, but customs were ~20e on a ~60e order
I ordered the RBK x colourpop collection back in November (like 80 euros) and it arrived no problem though it did take a while (I'm from NRW but idk if the Bundesländer have any influence on that)
Londonlovesbeauty sells brands we don’t get in the UK I haven’t ordered from them personally I just know they sell Tatcha and that’s where I’m looking to get some
I love single shadows for traveling, they barely take up any space and you only need one or two if you're away for like a weekend. It's good because I'm always so scared of my palettes breaking, but since singles are so cheap it doesn't really matter as much.
Girl whooooo is excited for Kris’ line? Who? Come forward and expose your reasons why because it’s going to be as much as a boring flop as Kim and Kylie
Crayon case is a great brand, it’s not for children. It’s a black owned brand and when it first came out the owner sold out in hours and made millions of dollars
Sugarpill do the best eyeshadow imo and they sell out certain shades so fast. I'm currently building a palette with the single shadows. Love plus is a stunning red shade they do.
I ordered two of the new colourpop serum blushes today and I'm excited to try them! I'm not a fan of cream blushes whatsoever but I feel like these liquid blushes will be nice to wear on top of a tinted moisturizer for when I want to look like I just ran a mile
I'm spending 1600 bucks moving this month soooooo NO makeup for me I'm literally only getting food for myself and my cats lol. Ohhhhh gonna be worth it though cause WOOD. FLOORS. My god I'm NEVER having carpet with pets EVER again. I did it the first four years of my cats' lives, and after last year, just...nope. Nope. Nnnnnooo lol.
@@arwynn1069 thanks! I can't wait to move it's gonna be amaing. Yeah never having carpet again. I was fine with my place cause it was super nice and super cheap BUT rent goes up every year, so now that this place is gonna be almost 800 bucks, I figure just upgrade for a place already at 800 bucks a month. On the first floor, with WOOD in a nicer part of town. Gonna be gooood.
Angelika maybe you can do an end of the year makeup declutter this year! I think they’re super interesting and I’d love to see what was worth it to you/what wasn’t!
To be honest yes jaclyn said that her highlighters were limited edition but those were in a pallete, and now she brings them in a single version. I’m not mad about it cause I regret not being able to get them back then.
I didn’t break out but don’t go over one spot too many times and don’t do it too often. The hair doesn’t grow back thicker but a week after shaving it feels a little stubby and sharp and then it softens and goes back to normal!
The first Viseart palette looks so good to me,all the colours I wear and I also like neon green with pink/purple.But I do have so many palettes unused (thanks to rona) so I can't justify buying another full size palette.
I do love buying single shadows from color pop or other cheap brands but I like them to be loose to put in my magnetic palettes, not in that type of wasteful bulky packaging... except for the very occasional supershock shadow
I know I and many others are not happy with buying big pallets where only 5 shades are usable. I have very little pallets that I can actually use all the shade and like them. Single shadows are great for simple looks. Not everyone is buying $500 worth of makeup a month, especially during quarantine. I’ve reduced my makeup by about 60% since last year and haven’t bought any new makeup. I think single shadows are a good reflection of this minimalist makeup stuff that’s taking off with the pandemic.
I feel like makeup brands have done it all in terms of releases. Once in a blue moon a unique launch will happen but I feel like the only way brands can make money now is by doing collabs and themed collections like Disney is doing now
I actually only buy single eyeshadows as all the palettes I've seen in my life were either too big, too expensive but most of the time I just liked less than half of the colors. It would just make sense. I also think its a great idea for people who just put one shadow on and they are good for the day. Lately I see that one colored or two colored looks got much more popular.
Can we just get Angelika on Colourpop’s PR list now please?
For the engagement: still not giving up on the bookshelf tour

Conspiracy theory confirmed: Angelika is filming from this angle to hide her bookshelves. Clever girl
hey never thought about it this way!

Yep I have a few palettes but i mainly use my one single eyeshadow from MUF
I agree, though I do think single shadows need to be smart about their packaging, for example I think it's best when they're stackable.
I only use one shadow for my lids.I don’t have time before work to sit and blend.
I feel like the viseart palette looks like a worse version of the colourpop garden variety
Yes exactly!!!
I have one and they’re surprisingly good - not the one she talked abt but their quality is really really good
