I hear ya brother. I was there too. I saw the film about 2-3 times when it came out. I also prefer the original ending with Sebastian Shaw playing the older Anakin.

What an amazing villian Vader always was with this iconic music. - I never thought of him as a guy who never received any sort of training, but only this name and had to slaughter a bunch of children and so then he became that "dark Jedi" (I thought he was even though in the cut scenes of the original Star Wars movie they were already called Sith). That he lost the most important fight of his life in such a disgraceful way, died, but remained as a corpse in this suit. That he had a wife that actually meant the world for him, yet he did not mention her one single time, not even when he died, who could not safe him, but only his son was capable of doing this. That he stayed evil for no reason, for there might have not been a way back for him after everything he had done, but he really should have thought this through since turning evil only made him weaker because he still lost the most important fight of his life in such an embarrassing way, and his other goal to safe his wife failed entirely also. So there was no reason for him to remain evil, he should have turned back to the good site instantly. I never thought he was such a wiener who did nothing but complaining and was so easy to manipulate and never saw the trues himself even though he had more than 20 years to think about it.
