I hope they manage to link directly an ifc file (not going through the blender save file) so you can reload it easily. If you can do this and with a possibility to overide material from the link ifc file you could even allow the archviz man to work from a realoadable architect model, like direct link between revit and twinmotion, D5 or enscape, priceless...

There are already some updates to this. So now it will take normal time the first time you link, and after that, when you link again files that have been linked before they will load almost instantly.

Hey Petru, in 4.2 there now is only "Link IFC" under the "Links" section. Will you make an update?

      I will. I just don't know when.

Please can you do a follow up video on how to join all coplaner faces for a cleaner blend file for linking. Thanks.

Hmm, not sure how this works. I'll ask around.

I like the concept, but miss the view buttons on windows, blender 4.0, openshell, 240328.

Hey Edgar, I don't really know what you mean. What do you mean with view buttons on Windows?

Been testing this with limited success. Models are 100% being linked in other applications but they are all over the place when I link them into BlenderBim. Which is disappointing.

This is very interesting. I'd like to have a closer look at that.
