Summer 2022, Pennsylvania and Horse Progress Days in Indiana: Big hitches at plowing, baling and treshing with horse drawn combines, treshing and baling on an Amish farm with steam engine and more.
I'm a semi truck driver and for a customer I have been to a couple of Amish sawmills. I believe they hired "English" guys to operate the skid steers that loaded me. This is a very lucrative contract for the Amish since my customer is a major Minnesota pallet company... The Amish know how to get $hit done!!
The day at the Amish Farm was an incredible experience and I am happy that I got permission to film the work. I was deeply impressed by how routine and well-rehearsed everything went, how calm and unagitated and at the same time how professionally everyone worked together - it was just great!
Because the Amish are better in calculating costs than what they call the "English' farmers: Even a motorized forecart pulled with four horses is more economical than a 45 horse power( minimum) tractor.

The nicest video I saw in a long time. Hardworking people with lots of common sense

Those mules have to be in the dust of the threshing machine breathing in the dust
Somehowvi doubt those guys stacking the bale wagon were concerned with dust on their pants
LMAO running a large 4x4 round baler with a large gas eng. to power it ....why not pull it with a tractor????
