  • Rural Heritage's annual coverage of Horse Progress Days is in Leola, Pennsylvania. This 25th annual event was started by a group of Amish farmers to display and demonstrate new horse drawn equipment. It has become a place for farmers and manufacturers to share ideas to develop new and better tools as well as a place to encourage community.
Video of draft animals at work including Percherons, Belgians, Shires, Fjords, mule and donkeys. Watch new equipment being pulled by these beautiful animals.
Joe interviews an number of people including:
Becky from Zimmerman Harness - discussing trends in draft animal harness as well as the business they do year round.
Stephane Parrain from Jordant - a French horse drawn equipment maker.
Ryan Deramus of Tillers International discussing their campus in Michigan, classes in traditional artisanal homestead skills, draft animal farming as well as their work in three African countries training animal traction to farmers.
Zacarias Machengua of Tillers International Mozambique on his work with local farmers training in animal traction, foraging, haymaking as well as dairy farming in conjunction with Land O'Lakes efforts there.
Great footage of the horses at work as well as a number of pieces of horse drawn equipment.
