What happens if you don't set up email forwarding? Does the domain provider pretty much give you like email hosting or something? An inbox, is what I'm asking about.
Domains providers typically don't include email. But they might offer email accounts as an add-on. Web hosting companies like Hostinger will often include some level of email hosting with their plans.

Looks great, although it jumps to "$7.99/mo when you renew" it's on the pricing page and I can also spot it on your video
True. Which is actually a bit lower than a lot of other shared hosting options (Bluehost renews at $11.99). You get a lot of bang for your buck if you purchase the 48 month plan. Pay less than $150 for FOUR YEARS of hosting, and then continue at a very reasonable rate (or migrate to another host if a better option becomes available).
I don't believe so. At least not with the forwarding or sender alias methods. If you want to use a custom domain to login and use other Google tools (Calendar, Meet, etc.) you'll need a paid Google Workspace account.
Question. If my domain is hosted with hostinger, can I have one email with Google workspace (using same domain) and another just using domains email service?
Yes... But the way to set this up correctly will depend on a few things. What specifically are you hoping to achieve? Do you need separate inboxes for different users? Or do you just want multiple email addresses that would point to the same inbox? And if you need separate inboxes, am I understanding correctly that you want to just pay for one Google Workspace user and use the free/cheaper Hostinger mail for everyone else?
I want to make a custom domain email for my family, though to use gmail and workspace, but I don't want to share my google drive with other workspace users, is this possible?
Are you creating separate email accounts for each family member, or one email account that will be shared by the entire family? So long as you each have your own account, you're good. By default, your Google Drive content isn't shared with anyone unless you choose to share specific files or folders.
Great tutorial! However, having linked my professional business email to my personal Gmail account, my colleague is not able to use it on the Outlook application. We both use the professional business email address for official purposes, and I do not want to give access to my personal Gmail account. How do I give my colleague only access to the professional business email?
I can get POP3 to work but not IMAP under Accounts and Import. There was a problem while connecting to mail.*** The hosting server supports IMAP. All info is correct. Is IMAP actually supported?
Yes, it should be very similar instructions. Where exactly you'll find the correct server info in the Namecheap settings might be different, but everything on the Gmail side would work the same.
Hi, I have the exact same setup but I was wondering if the hostinger 1GB storage is still in the equation or is it now the 15GB storage from google? Thanks
With this configuration (using POP3), your messages aren't stored on Hostinger anymore, so you don't need to worry about hitting your 1GB storage limit.
I wonder if the frequency of the syncing is determined by Gmail or the email server. Either way, it's not going to be as polished an experience as a paid Google Workspace plan, but it's a decent halfway point for anyone who needs a more affordable solution.
Your free email offers a forwarding rule, you can use that and forward all your emails to your Gmail email. This way you will receive your emails almost instantly and reply from your busniss email.
Good question. Unfortunately, it probably doesn't work with Google Chat. Email uses different protocols. Google Chat is its own thing, and you probably need an actual Google Workspace account to use Chat (or other Google products) with your business identity.
Are you referring to the photo that appears next to your name in emails (and in the top right corner of Gmail and other Google apps)? You can click image/circle in the top right corner, and then click the profile image in the pop-up box to change the image. You can also change it from here: myaccount.google.com/personal-info
@@SelfEmploymentSidekick hey man, thanks for the answer, but I managed to do this just by adding my work email to the secondary emails of my google account
Isn't there any way of just adding a domain to a personal Google account? I mean, I'd like to simply have a nice and easy-to-understand domain so people don't get it wrong when I tell them the email address. I also think it's pretty nice and professional, but I don't have a business or anything.
Custom domains aren't available in the free version of Gmail. But you can do this with a paid Google Workspace subscription. That would also allow you to use Google Drive, Docs, Meet, and other tools with your custom domain. You don't need a business entity to sign up for Google Workspace. Otherwise, you can follow the method in the video to be about to send and receive from a custom address.
I'm not sure. Brevo is an email marketing (one-to-many) platform and Gmail is an individual email (one-to-one) platform. How are you hoping to use them together?
I'm not really sure how that would be configured. Does Brevo have a provision for receiving emails (an actually inbox; not just forwarding replies to a separate address)?
tysm! this worked so well, I knew that you can receive with the android app but I had no idea about the desktop/browser option.
You're welcome!! Glad the video was helpful!
Wow, this is super helpful! Custom domains can really up your email game, and the fact that it’s almost free makes it even better
💯 Glad you found it helpful!

What is your current business email host? And your colleague is using the desktop Outlook app?

I'm not positive, but I can look into this. I've only tested this with email hosts that use POP. What email host are you using?
I have namecheap email hosting, Will these steps be the same for namecheap?

on mobile gmail app its taking 15 mins about to sync email. in desktop you may be do manually force sync. so its not really great

Is google workspace email white label?
You can add your logo to it, and set it up to be accessed through a custom subdomain (ex. "mail.yoursite.com") but you can't remove the Gmail logo.
Does Google Chat work with this free method? If so, does the chat come from the business email name or Gmail?
Good question. Unfortunately, it probably doesn't work with Google Chat. Email uses different protocols. Google Chat is its own thing, and you probably need an actual Google Workspace account to use Chat (or other Google products) with your business identity.
google = tim
Can you get dkim settings for this?
Good question. I don't know off the top of my head, but I can look into this. Isn't DKIM more for email marketing than for individual email?
Thank you so much :)
