19:33 i found this thing on reddit and this is it here its about if the haunted helm is cannon You're a jackal patrolling a covenant controlled world weeks of travel behind the front lines. You're bored out of your mind and on your way back to base. It's you, two other jackals who are on rear guard, a skirmisher on point, and an Elite and handful of Grunts in the middle with you. Suddenly the patrol freezes. There scent of blood is heavy in the air. You look back, your own blood freezing in your veins, and see that both members of the rear guard are down. The Elite in the patrol starts barking orders, but don't listen. You're eyes are darting back and forth looking through the trees for what ever just killed the other two. A muted gunshot rings out and the Skirmisher howls out, going down as a round tears through his chest. Before you can even wheel around to look at him a blurred shape shoots past you, crashing into the elite patrol leader and sending him sprawling backwards onto the ground. You stumble back, falling yourself. The grunts throw up their hands and scream in terror as they dart off. Your chest is thundering as you look where the elite had once stood. In his place is the wavering outline of what looks like a human soldier with some sort of low grade active camo wavering in and out. You snatch your plasma pistol up from the ground and go to level it on the attacker. Then, you freeze as it looks at you. You don't see the gold visor of the demons or the imps, or the squishy pink face of one of their "marines". What is looking back at you appears to be just a skull in a helmet. A monster. The black pits where it's eyes should be are focused on you for what feels like minutes. The elite roars out snatching the hilt of his sword from it's belt. The human monster responds by simply raising a pistol with a long black cylinder of sorts sticking out from the front and fires a single round into the skull of the elite. The monster stands, stares at you a moment more, then fades back into the woods. end of story
