    Wow. In my 44 years never seen plane landing and departing on 27. I have seen planes climbing out over St. Michael where i live so i know it happens occasionally but see it makes this video special.

    Wonderful ATC Tower view, I love the way that TBPB 🇧🇧 is set up and can manage enough wide body aircrafts them. I’m waiting for the day to see an Antonov An-225, C5 Galaxy and the Super 380 touch down there.

    These landings are a mirrored image, when landing at GAIA the terminal buildings and taxied aircraft are always on the port side (left side) of the aircraft, these landings are are showing the opposite on the starboard side (right side). At GAIA planes land in a single direction to utilize the east winds (blowing east to west).

    • @rrrs759
      @rrrs759 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      These landings are not a mirrored image. Planes can land in either direction. These planes are landing on Runway 27 because on that particular day, the wind direction changed. Airplanes need to land into the wind. It would be more accurate to say that you observe that the landings are normally done on runway 09 because the wind usually blows from the East. Particularly during hurricane season the winds may change and blow from the west or southwest and that is when Runway 27 will be used. It can also be requested by pilots. Hope that clears this up.

    Have given up shooting traffic at this Airport. The last time one of the Senior Security Officers came and said that it was illegal and that if I didn't stop he was going to call the police. I was off the Airport property on public grounds. Wonder how shooting from the Tower gets a pass. Guess he was just one of those dumb asses trying to feel important.
    Nice perspective from the Tower anyway. Could watch this all day!
