  • Share this rare experience with me where we land the 'wrong' way in Barbados. Normally aircraft land on runway 09 from the West, but on today's flight we land on runway 27 from the East side of Barbados.

    Yours is the first posting I have seen with that approach! I have flown there close to 30 trips and never had that approach. Rare !
    I thought outbound with a right turn was rare. Your trip was special. Thanks for posting .

      @brucecanmore3788 Thanks so much. It was the first time for me, too. I know it has happened a lot, especially this year, but never while I flew. I was just upset I wasn't on the opposite side of the plane. Mind you, it was overcast, so I am not sure they had a good view, but I am sure coming down the east coast at that lower height would be a treat to view.
      Also, taking off and climbing out over the south coast would be a good change of view too.

    Must be awesome views from the right side of the plane

      @charnocks246 i was thinking that, depending on the approach and weather tho.

      @patrichatricproductions Yeah man. My first time. I just was disappointed I wasn't on the other side of the aircraft.

    Passengers usually clap when the plane contacts the ground.

    • @journeyswithj246
      @journeyswithj246  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @geodra2469 sometimes not usually. I have been on numerous flights where passengers do not clap. Clapping was more common in the past.

      I feel passengers should wait and clap only when the plane has come to a full stop!

      You mean American passengers clap. They're extra.

    Some times when you have bad weather on the north and west coast flight land from the opposite end.

    Virgin Atlantic a member of the Skyteam alliance, and it was probably KLM codesharing flight ✈️.

    It’s not unusual flights do come in from that side depending on wind direction at the time

    • @journeyswithj246
      @journeyswithj246  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @troynorville it unsual as it is not the norm, as you pointed out it only happens with a change of wind direction most often due to bad weather. It has been happening quite frequently in recent years, however most persons traveling to and from Barbados have never experienced this. It was my first time arriving this way in 30 plus years of travel. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
