As the former wife of an addict, I agree. Of course it's possible he is abusive or something, but I didn't sense that kind of fear from her. It's telling that she refused to call *anyone* in her life (not just husband), even under threat of being arrested. The people close to her have probably had enough of the lies and worrying about her, and her husband will be stuck sharing the fallout of her arrest, job loss, and ruined career. She was trying to delay facing any of that for as long as she possibly could. Maybe this will finally be her rock bottom.
And they were really about to let her go home smfh she even wiped the cup inside she really has a problem. Imagine someone come in that school for shooting or any other bad thing and most of the teachers there or even one blew this much. She drinking like she taking care of high school kids or middle school.
Back when I was a teacher, I had a teacher friend who was an alcoholic. I knew he had a problem but had no idea that he was drunk at work. He was caught, lost his job, went through a really rough patch, but is now 5 years clean and sober and completely turned his life around. I hope this woman gets help.
Glad to hear he recovered. I'm not a teacher or have any friends that are, but for the most part I always respected my teachers and understood that they're dealing with their own struggles while simultaneously dedicating most of their lives to educate. I really feel for this woman even though it was a very irresponsible and careless thing to do. Addiction is a tough battle that not everyone has the strength to defeat, I sincerely hope she will be a victor in that battle 🙏
This Officer was so patient, and gave her numerous opportunities to do the right thing, and then she pushed him too far...hats off to this officer he did an excellent job!
@@paulrigby7135 Only feel bad for people who want to help themselves. She showed up drunk for court on this charge and was arrested again for public intoxication and pulled the same schtick. Absolution comes when you come clean and she hasn't done it yet.
Seriously. Obviously she’s in the wrong but posting this is just awful. I feel like if she just called someone from the get gobthey would have let her go and she could have avoided arrest.
It definitely is. But at the same time, some people need to hit rock bottom in order to rebound. It's an opportunity to get on the right track, because she's not doing it on her own anyway.
As a recovering alcoholic who went through something similar I feel this in the gut. I am 14 months sober now and my boss and company stood behind me and helped get me into rehab and saved my life.
She didn't even have anyone who would be willing to come pick her up. She also said she was carrying an AirBnB key, and she didn't want to call her husband, so things must not be going well at home. That poor lady. She must lead a very isolated lifestyle. Maybe that's part of why she drinks. Or maybe she's isolated *because* she drinks and pushes everyone away--that's a possibility, also. Still incredibly sad either way.
honestly, the alert sirens going off on their phones when they started discussing her demeaner right at the beginning was probably the most fitting coincidence i've ever seen, because damn that whole meeting was a disaster.
This is actually so sad to watch. I don’t think she is a bad person, it just seems like she’s been fighting a hard battle for a while. I hope she gets the help she needs
You forgot the kids and the husband that kind of person don't care about others they only care about them so I don't have any sort of compassion for that type of person.
Your compassion is refreshing. So many nasty, mean, judgmental people on here. She has a problem. I had a hard time even believing she was drunk. Nevertheless, she was drunk. She got fired. I guess that’s not enough for people. They prefer public humiliation.
With a BAC that high and to remain functional and not really show she’s under the influence says she is an alcoholic. She has a very high tolerance to alcohol and it’s actually sad. I hope she gets the help
@@maggyf3932 because it's an incriminating statement. She thought she would somehow be let go TODAY by claiming she was drinking at work YESTERDAY. She also said she wouldnt bring alcohol to school around the 4 minute mark. So she basically undid everything she was trying to tell them by admitting she was drinking on the job. Her whole thing was convincing them she would never do it in the first place. with that statement she admitted that she was drinking on school grounds. and by saying "I think" kind of implies that it could have been from yesterday or any time before that. Sad but drunk people cant keep up with a story so its no surprise she was caught
A principal who’s giving options to be terminated, resign, get picked up or find a ride??? That’s the very definition of compassion and understanding. She asked for a second chance, This is her second chance!
Not at teaching. She was arrested, charged, and this footage was released. Parents aren’t going to want this woman teaching their children and no other school district is going to want this attention. What you’re saying is very sweet, but realistically…she likely isn’t going to get a second chance here.
@@craigeslim7212 - She comes across as a challenging individual to handle. In a subsequent video following this incident, she is once again intoxicated, this time in court. Despite her lawyer's advice to remain silent, she openly admits to cops that she drank wine before her court appearance, leading to her arrest. Her consistent use of a sad senior citizen mentality, as seen in this video, remains prevalent in her behavior.
@@chuckr1200 Yes because he’s also an educator as she mentioned, I don’t blame her for not wanting to call him to come pick her up for drinking-getting absolutely shitfaced-on the first day of school. That would be horrendously embarrassing
It's painful witnessing someone's life go down the tubes because of alcohol. Thank goodness she was caught.....I hope she gets the help she so desperately needs.
It's so sad. Her actions are completely inexcusable, but it's still tragic to see someone's life spiral so far into addiction. She's jeopardized the safety of the kids in her care, her colleagues, her marriage, her career, her retirement... I don't feel sorry for her being fired or arrested and I applaud all the professionals in the situation. But that doesn't change how sad it is to see someone fall so far. Blowing a .24 in an elementary school is beyond reprehensible. I hope she gets help and stays the heII away from kids in the meantime
One of the patterns I've noticed in addiction is consistent lying and stalling in hopes of continuing to fuel the behavior to keep the addiction alive.
I'm 3.5 years booze-free and unfortunately had to endure a similar situation showing up intoxicated to work and having to be in an office explaining myself while still under the influence. This is one level of rock bottom and the humiliation, guilt, and regret is extreme, and it's hard hitting both in that moment but for the days to come, ouch. I'm glad that the staff took this matter so seriously and were stern with her. When we are talking about our children, there should be NO excuse or leniency when it comes to the teachers and poor actions. I hope she gets help - she really needs it. It's no way to live!
As someone who lives with a family member who is a struggling alcoholic, I feel bad for this lady, I see how bad a struggle this is… I hope she gets help.
Yeahh... I have an recovering alcoholic father who unfortunately lost his job recently due to being too hardheaded about it. It's painful to see, it's so sad.
Nice to be compassionate but compassion should only go so far, the school needs to take a stand, those with mental health issues shouldn't be teaching our children.
These kids will have a LEGENDARY story to reminisce about as they grow up. “Remember when Mrs. Coates got arrested for being hammered drunk on the first day of school?”
As someone who grew up around family with alcohol addiction issues, this breaks my heart. The addiction takes over and, even though she knew in her heart she would eventually be caught, she couldn't stop herself from drinking. I hope this was the wake up call she needed to get sober and that her husband and family were there to support her.
I feel you, and for this lady. Tears came to my eyes watching this as my mother had the same issue and lost multiple jobs because of it. I truly hope this lady turns her life around and learns from this.
She made that choice to subject kids to this. My sympathy stops when you think it’s ok to use mental illness/ addiction to subject others to your bad behavior
The fact that she doesnt want to call anyone, including her husband shows how much she has already damaged her life and relationships with friends/family.
Exactly what I thought. Dealt with the same behaviour from my mother. It’s always someone else’s fault. It’s not even the drinking, it’s the lying and manipulation that hurts everyone so deeply. It destroys every ounce of trust other people have for you
You're really great at jumping to conclusions based on what information? Her husband could be abusive? She could be mortified and in a freeze response? She could be dealing with social isolation because if depression? Stop making snap assumptions because you watched a woman's lowest moment on TH-cam. What a lack of critical thinking, oof.
@@tenderpreciousIt doesn’t necessarily mean bridges are burned. She might be going through some depression and has isolated herself from everyone because she is embarrassed by it and doesn’t want others to know she had a problem. I’ve pushed my loved one away due to how low my life was a some point but thankful they were there for me afterwards. ❤
I had an addiction problem that cost me a job before. It was such a big embarrassing struggle. Never want to go back to that low point in my life. These videos help remind me to keep up the good work!
We do recover 💕 I also lost a job a little over a year ago due to my addiction, it was truly the worse time of my life. I went to rehab, got clean and never looked back. I will be 1 year clean on October 28th.
The worst part is that she was arrested again when she appeared in court allegedly intoxicated. That this incident wasn't her "rock bottom" is staggering. Addiction sucks.
I think it may have been hitting bottom + and her fear of being caught. I'm glad I don't live in that small town. She's crying bc she lost her job and that's pretty much hitting rock bottom. My experience with AA and Alonon for 20 years tells me she has, My x husband died at 46 due this behavior
@@Kathy-bk6cg I really hope the best for her. This video is gut wrenching. I myself am many years sober, too. As I'm sure you and I both know, addiction is a thief. It will rob you of everything; job, family, friends, home, freedom, and, at it's worst, life.
I was a school administrator for 5 years and had to fire a teacher for being drunk teaching high school kids. She was drinking and taking prescription xanax. I was so scared for her. I was for a while a CADC as well as a Therapist. It was so difficult for me and the staff to confront her but we needed to. We offered help but she refused. She resigned and was gone that same day. A few years later we found out she had passed away from cirrhosis of the liver. She was still a young woman of 40ish. I wish we could have done more for her.
As a recovering alcoholic the one thing that stood out to me the most was when she said " I thought I was doing a good job" She wasn't talking about her teaching job, she was talking about hiding her intoxication. It's part of the disease, where you convince yourself that you're hiding your intoxication from everyone and nobody notices anything different. The truth is they do. I hope this lady gets the help she needs.

The fact that she struggled so hard to pick ONE person to come and get her speaks volumes. She's hiding this problem from everyone. My SO is a kindergarten teacher and they run in packs, so I guarantee she has numerous friends she could've called. But, she can't decide who to come clean to. Being hammered like this around children is very, very bad. Kudos for the way they all handled this and I hope she gets the help she so desperately needs.
Word. That or she's lost all her friends because they refuse to deal with her anymore. The most shocking thing to me was how strongly she fought to keep her husband out of this, and refuse to contact him. If anyone should be there to support you, its your husband (sickness and in health, good or bad, etc) so she might have got herself into a domestic situation and has no one left to rely on.
It does appear that she is hiding her problem and doesn't want to admit that she has one. I also thought it was weird that her name tag said Ms. even though she is obviously married. Maybe she is having marital problems and is using alcohol to deal with it.
She said "WE had a box of wine" it makes me think maybe the husband drank too. 🤔 and I believe I heard her day he was working at another school... maybe she doesn't want him to get busted also 🤔 😕... I don't know I'm just speculating...

@Jordysegs89Its a shame for sure that she is this reliant on alcohol but having this broadcasted to the Internet will show others that you can't let your own actions affect others, being drunk whilst at work, around students, knowing that you're driving to and from work is a big whopping no no. Hopefully she accepts the help that she will be given and let her self have another chance before its too late.
Lol "how do you know the students deserve better? Maybe they suck". Nice. This started off heartbreaking, but got real annoying real quick. Her lies and games put her exactly where she belongs. They gave her every opportunity to avoid the consequences of her actions, but it just wasn't good enough for her. FAFO.
It's possible to both feel that what happened to her was justified, and to also feel sympathy for what she is going through. Everyone needs to remember that it is possible to hold two thoughts at once.
@@akitalady Yeah, just have the death penalty for all crimes, problem solved, right? The OP was in no way diminishing her responsibility. She deserves to be fired and charged with appropriate crimes. But she should also be given help to return to being a functional and safe member of society.
Not for all, no it isn’t. I have no sympathy for a person who drives drunk, is drunk around kids, lies to everyone about being drunk, wastes everyone’s time by lying, and then begs for forgiveness after getting every single chance in the book and not taking it.
I only feel a degree of sympathy for the fact she has this horrible addiction. However, her decision to drive and then be in charge of children is indefensible. I think most people hope she will turn her life round, but most do not. She doesn't take any real responsibility and like most addicts, they are strangers to telling the truth.
Depends why they are an addict, seems she has her life together from outside but who knows. She just doing it because she an addict and nothing more then no sympathy if she has a good reason then it's probably a very good one as no one wakes up and decides to do this to themselves if everything is stable
The fact she is this well composed at nearly a .25 tells me she's an EXTREME alcoholic. This level of composure is truly remarkable for anything over .20. Most social drinkers are slurring words a tad around .9 or .10 and definitely by .15 and most people are blacking out around .20. To avoid slurring words (almost entirely) at .25 ... she needs professional help. She is obviously dealing with something she can't deal with on her own
I used to just be really loose and a little slurry/drawl in the mornings and for most of my employment then I'd buy a bottle of wine at lunch and finish it by the in about 2-3 hours. Truly despicable stuff. Nobody ever pulled me up or spoke to me but I had one Co worker pick up my cup then stare at me.. it makes me physically hurt to think about.
Speaking as a recovering alcoholic myself.... this is a new beginning for her! She can't be in denial any longer. If she has a chance...IT IS NOW! I pray she takes it. I'm not sure she's ready! She needs help....and she doesnt believe or realize it. So sad. Pray for her!
at the same time, it gives her even more reason to continue drinking even more to cope. but hopefully this is the wake up call that flips the switch in your head that makes her want to try to get sober.
This situation happened with my cousin. When I say she lost everything, I mean everything. Addiction cost her her job, her home, her daughter, and eventually her life. I hope this woman gets serious about treatment and getting well because addiction is a thief with no conscious. My cousin was bright, professional, generous, funny, determined and so so beautiful but she lost & our family has never been the same. I hope it turns out differently for this lady.
@@5jerry1that fact that you read her comment about her loved one losing her life to addiction and you just wanted to comment to correct her grammar says A LOT about you 😒
The progression usually goes the drink after work turns into the drink before work, and then the drink during work. Then it becomes the drink instead of work.
She most definitely has gotten away with this many times before... She said herself that the cup with wine residue was from "yesterday", so.... 乁( . ര ʖ̯ ര . )ㄏ
As a recovering addict and alcoholic, I think that this is an important time in this woman's life. I only hope that she gets the help she needs and turns this negative moment into a long term positive. I have been sober in AA & NA for 42 years, and for me the pivotal moment for me was when I was arrested.
Classic addict behavior. Lie. Make excuses. Bargain. Obfuscate. And as soon as you give them a little, they push for more. “I don’t know the number.” Get her purse. “My phone isn’t in here.” Decide to arrest. Suddenly have half a dozen people to call. I actually have a lot of sympathy for addicts. Addiction is a horrible thing. But this woman shows absolutely no remorse for being drunk in a classroom full of elementary school students! None. And that’s disgusting.
They are master manipulators. I saw this with my brother and mother. They have an excuse for everything or a reason they try to fabricate. It’s always someone else’s fault and they are the victim.
I was an addict for 12 years. Although I empathize with the struggle and consequences of addiction, they are not an excuse for unacceptable behavior. I was in this position MANY times. Not at school but showing up to work high and getting fired due to it because I work on cars and put people's lives at risk. I had convinced myself that I was a victim and that the world was against me and took ZERO accountability at the time. It took me SEVERAL situations like this to finally realize that I was the problem and desperately needed help. I hope she gets the help she needs and she's lucky she didn't kill someone. I am 9 months clean today.
Worked with a couple guys like this. Should say was employed with guys like this. I refused to work with them. When our supervisor would ask why. I’d refer to them to ask the coworker why. Who knows what they’d say but our boss would honor it. Whether or not they knew? Who knows.
Absolutely agree!! This is unacceptable. I’m pleased he got straight to the point and the officer arrested her. To ask for a second chance to endanger children is delusional.

She has a responsibilty and has crossed the line and only thinks of herself instead of her responsibilities and actions. Sher may think it is fine hiding in a bottle (or carton) of wine and going to teach. A person who is drunk does not have their faculties intact and have impaired reactions and thoughts. If she is in school teaching while intoxicated and something serious happened at the school like a fire and the alarms are going off, she might not be in the right frame of mind to help the children stay calm and get them to safety. A WEEK AGO. It gives a weird feeling to know that we are watching this almost instantaneously. In this moment, she is probably still coming to terms with the fact that this really happened. She and her family are just beginning to address the fallout of this. It's that fresh.
Hopefully this experience teaches her an important life lesson that there is a time and place for alcohol, and that time and place is not when you have to drive to school and teach young children. Unfortunately she seems too far in the trenches to be able to use alcohol responsibly so quitting is the only option. Going to need to replace the alcohol with a better therapist
It’s sad that is the reality. What a shame this stuff is put online for everyone to see so early in her process since that might make it harder for her to deal with and get sober. All for clicks 😢
My mom was an alcoholic, I feel for this woman, but also as a teacher I'm horrified. Her not wanting to call him makes you wonder was he more 🤔 Was she afraid of him. I sure hope this is not a DV case, because she lost her job and is now more dependent on her husband.
It might be EXACTLY what she needs to finally “hit bottom” and turn her life around. The alcohol & drugs are likely killing her-she doesn’t look 53 and healthy…and her attempted mastery of manipulation was on display and rather shocking.
As a recovering addict. As embarrassing amd humiliating as this was, this entire episode could save her life. Glad no children were ever harmed. I wish her well on her road to recovery. Addiction is a DISEASE

Glad you pointed this out, yes this had to be embarrassing as all get out, but hopefully this moment changed her for the better... Addiction is hard to beat, I've watched many struggle... Helping a friend overcome her addiction currently... It's not easy....
A big shout out to the administration and other teachers who saw her behavior and took action. Our schools need more of them taking responsibility and keeping our children safe. Sad to watch a woman's downfall, but hopefully now she'll get help.
When I was in high school, we had a teacher who was always drunk. It was wildly known that she had Vodka in her coffee cup. Nothing ever happened, no one cared (even administration). Hashtag rural public school!
This saddens me drunks are hiding among our children… among many other things. I’m glad the public school system caught this before something worse may have happened. This video reminds me of the drunk school bus driver in Florida not too long ago. Also 3x over the legal limit who jumped out of the ambulance shortly after.
They honestly should have intervened sooner though. If the time stamps on the video are correct, they were questioning her at the very end of the school day. If she had taken anti anxiety medication and was drinking throughout the entire day, there's no way that nobody noticed until the end of the day. The kids, a teaching assistant, a coworker, someone would have noticed she was acting funny and smelled like a winery. Yes, they did the right thing by confronting her, keeping her from driving home, firing her, and charging her with public intoxication. But they really could have and should have done more. They should have intervened sooner. Allowing her to continue supervising an entire class of 3rd graders while she was clearly under the influence is crazy and frankly extremely dangerous. She should have been charged with child endangerment for every student in her class. She also should have been charged for tampering with evidence for trying to wipe out the residue from her wine cup when the men left the room for a moment. Yes, she deserves sympathy for struggling with addiction, but she also really needs to be held accountable for making the decision to knowingly endanger other people children. I feel like the high ups in this school did a good job once they took action, but I just wish they has done so much sooner. 🫤🤷♀️
The patience shown towards her here is amazing.... Coming from someone in recovery herself, these gentlemen were not only professional but exhibited extreme patience and kindness. Praying for her. This is a hard journey... But we do recover

Its a shame and a turning point for her. This is where she either gets help and goes clean or it tumbles to even lower depths. Alcoholics/addicts will lie cheat and steal to get out of trouble, or just to get the next drink. This is why alcoholism and drug addiction are so destructive. Your habit is more important than anything in your life, including family, job, etc. You see how she tried to get sympathy by crying, etc. Its how she gets people to feel sorry for her and get people to let the incidents go. When you let it go its what they call enabling. You enable the addict to continue on as if her condition is normal and okay. When it is not. THIS is why its a hard thing on family and friends. Good luck to her and I hope things turn out much better for her.
have you gotten help for your mental health issues. non drug addicts always want addicts to "get help" but theres no narcissist anonymous for their "care takers" 😅
I agree with most everything you said, but I don't think she was crying for sympathy. As an alcoholic, 4 years sober, I believe she is crying because she is ashamed and has no control over her problem. She is also crying because she is losing her job due to her alcoholism. I believe she is genuinely sorry, but you are also right that she needs to be held accountable. Otherwise she will never be forced to change. I had my first child on the way and my wife was going to leave me. Went cold turkey (from drinking 750ml vodka a day). I didn't think I could do it. I tried several times. You need to experience the repercussions first hand. I also agree that providing her sympathy is not the correct method to intervene here. I just think it's important to understand that she isn't being manipulative, rather impulsive, as the other shoe has finally dropped. Of course she is going to try to salvage her career. Such humiliation. Like you said, hopefully she owns it and takes this an an opportunity.
I went through the same scenario. I was at work and blew almost as much as she did. That was in a way the start of a process that got me where I am today. At six years sober. Living a different life. At the time that it happened I thought it was the worst thing that happened to me. Now I think it was the best thing that happened to me. I hope she gets the help she needs.
Agreed! Being at “ rock bottom “ is the worst helpless feeling there is. I’ve been recovering for quite a long time now. This video brings me back to the exact day of my last drink. It terrifies me to this day. I hope she finds the gift of sobriety and finds what I was so graciously given. I’ll pray for her.
I'm glad you told us about what happened to you. I'm glad that you have managed to stay sober for 6 years now. I don't defend her actions, like drinking at work, specially not at a school. At the same time I also hope this woman gets help for her alcohol addiction.
"I drank on the way to work" was the dumbest thing she could had said. She thought that because she wasn't drinking at school it would save her job but now she just admitted to DUI.
I think she was afraid of losing her job so she thought it would have been best to say she wasn’t even on campus. I’m only 8 minutes in so I hopefully it’s more clear. But if you have to come into your job drunk you need to reevaluate things.

It's fortunate that her colleagues noticed and was able to keep the kids from spending the day with her like that. My heart goes out to her and I hope she's getting the help she needs.
Unfortunately, this video takes place around 3:30pm-4:00pm. So it was towards the end of the school day when they pulled her into that room. I only noticed that when she made the claim that she last drank at 3:00am, which I was questioning the possibility of that having any effect on a breathalyzer test 5-6 hours later. Then I looked at the time stamp and saw how late in the day it was. She was at school all day and blew ~.24 BAC at the end of the day. That’s why everyone in the room, including the accused, is basically 100% confident that she has been drinking throughout the school day.
@@addisonworley8579 Alcohol stays in your system much longer than 5-6 hours. I don't doubt this lady was day drinking, my opinion, but it is really plausible.

She drove drunk to school, she could have hit someone along the way, or hit one of the kids in the parking lot at school. Her alcohol level is VERY high. I doubt it is only wine she is drinking.
The fact that she refused to call her husband to pick her up and also had keys to an Airbnb tells me her drinking problem is so severe, it has her marriage/relationships in shambles. I hope she gets help and/or finds a recovery program.

@@kdizzle901 I wondered about that. It seemed that way to me too. Do you think she was impaired to the extent that she just wasn't hearing it, or were the stumbling, half-formed lies something that actually sounded reasonable to her in the moment? All very speculative, I know, but it's the aspect of this footage that really grabbed me.
She should have admitted early on and asked for help. Might have kept her job that way. I'd say this has been an ongoing issue and she was trying to slide through without anyone outside the room finding out
My colleague showed up to work normal. Suddenly she was slurring her words, falling over, and reeked of alcohol. She swore she had only drank the night before. i've struggled with alcohol and i completely understand her struggle. this is clearly not the first time she's done this. however, blowing double the legal limit while responsible for children, especially with everything going on in the world today, is absolutely inexcusable. as a teacher, you have a super important duty to do everything in your power to achieve a safe learning environment for these children and she failed miserably.
@@paulatiredofthisshitYou're close. She did blow 3 times the legal limit, but it was a .24 (24% BAC), and the legal limit is .08 (8% BAC). The number is the percentage of alcohol that's in your blood as it's running through your veins. A 1.0 means there is 100% alcohol in your system and no blood (which means you'd be very dead).
"I drank on the way to work." "Oh well, that's perfectly alright ma'am. So sorry for the misunderstanding. Let me show you the way back to your classroom right away!" 😂

She said "WE had a box of wine" it makes me think maybe the husband drank too. 🤔 and I believe I heard her day he was working at another school... maybe she doesn't want him to get busted also 🤔 😕... I don't know I'm just speculating...

She doesn't want to take responsibility for her actions and is trying to weasel out of it.

Good luck to her and I hope things turn out much better for her.
have you gotten help for your mental health issues. non drug addicts always want addicts to "get help" but theres no narcissist anonymous for their "care takers" 😅
and ill add, leaving a multi paragraph comment on a youtube video to get likes is you asking to be enabled.

@@user-wd4sx1yz6l would be nice to have that kind of mindset. Totally the opposite. Tell me your secrets. Lol😅
It’s sad that a lot of The kids probably come from homes with alcoholic problems too. This is t going to protect them that much. But it’s very good they are trying to hold up their standards.
She drove drunk to school, she could have hit someone along the way, or hit one of the kids in the parking lot at school. Her alcohol level is VERY high. I doubt it is only wine she is drinking.
Huh? The children were with her ALL day (she still had wine at her desk)…that’s how her drunken (& drugged) behavior was finally outed.
The fact that she refused to call her husband to pick her up and also had keys to an Airbnb tells me her drinking problem is so severe, it has her marriage/relationships in shambles. I hope she gets help and/or finds a recovery program.
What a sane conclusion, unlike the psycho above you claiming the husband might be abusive lmao
12 step program have terrible success - I hope she finds a smart recovery program and skips the powerless mind control nonsense. Last thing she needs is to get caught up in the cults.
I think she was saying she owns an air bnb. And I don’t think it’s psycho to think her husband could be abusive. The lady was terrified to call him. Could be for a number of reasons we don’t know. I’m not going to put that on him but I don’t think it’s crazy to think it’s possible.
@@lyndaanneshop Yeah, because it revolves around taking accountability for your actions and doing the hard work to be a better person. The system works, addicts don't (often times to say the least)
@@Joostmhwhow do you know her husband isn't abusive. It is no way "psycho" to consider this.. what is wrong w you??? Calling someone psycho for having an opinion based on how she acted? She seemed terrified to call him...this should have been handled differently and never put on social media for entertainment. This country is definitely disgusting.
I am a recovering alcoholic but some tough love is necessary sometimes. I’m glad she got caught before something really bad happened. I don’t feel for her as much as this comment thread because children were involved! I feel for the children & their families including the school & their reputation. It’s a harsh lesson to learn & I do hope she gets help ASAP.
Children were involved and the public driving. She was also driving under the influence
I’m a recovered alcoholic, and addiction truly is an illness. I hope she gets the help she needs and there truly is a light for her if she stops the alcoholism. I feel the children, who are subjected to this at such a young age. It’s an all around terrible situation.
Same. I feel for those littles in 3rd grade as well as her past kids bc we all know this wasn’t a single event. Poor parents were probtlosing their minds once they found out the truth.
No sympathy here, I quit drinking and hard drugs at 23, no help, I just did it myself. She's been a drug addict alcoholic, most likely for years. The kids are the future, she's in the last part of her lifetime, as I am. She wouldn't of fooled me, she lies all the time it comes easy. Something bad would of happened eventually. I'm 42+ years sober.
If my child was in her class, I'd feel like kicking her butt.
Being an alcoholic is bad enough, but for an alchoholic and compulsive liar I think they gave her plenty of leniency.
As a recovering alcoholic, I feel her pain. I just hope this is her rock bottom and she gets help.
Stay strong!
Good job! As a functioning alcoholic, who tried quitting, you are the kinda people I look up to. Stay strong man.
But no, this won't be her rock bottom. She will get boned again
Unless she takes herr booze on the rocks. 😊
One day at a time and a desire to stop!!
Same, I know that darkness all too well. Ughhh.
wow. they literally gave her every opportunity to preserve what was left of her dignity, and she played games the whole time as she stalled her way right into handcuffs.
She thought she could get a way with it.
She seemed afraid to call her husband , how do we know if this does not have a domestic violence factor at play here.
@heartofgold2878 it could be but couldn't she also just be embarrassed? I would be mortified if I had to call my husband for a ride because I was drunk at an elementary school
@@heartofgold2878
Oh, know!!!
Don't worry. He was treated and released at the emergency room and chooses to not press charges
@@heartofgold2878 I was thinking the same. I wish the police could have thought of that and maybe offered her a lift home and enquired more into a potential DA situation. I feel bad for this woman, she’s clearly having a hard time in life.
I really hope she gets help. Obviously it’s highly inappropriate to drink at work, especially at an elementary school, but it’s clear she definitely needed this intervention.
Yeah fire her !!!!!!
So she needed to drink recklessly in frint of elementary school children???alcohol makes you act a fool and she was doing that in a place of EDUCATION AND ENTRUSTED TO CHILDREN!!!are you kidding me if she was a responsible individual that actually felt bad she would’ve called off and sobered up for the next day…unacceptable she made a choice to drink so suffer the consequences
Drinking and driving isn't just inappropriate
F the police
Hey! Kids are a hassle.
She’s becoming annoying and needs to go to jail,,,,thank you for arresting her.
As much as my heart breaks for her, she was intoxicated at school with children under her care and that’s unacceptable. I pray she gets the help she desperately needs 😢
I don't feel bad for her one bit. You don't screw up like concerning working with children. Anything could have happened under her supervision drunk.
Who cares about HER? I worry about the children. They are at HER mercy.

I felt ashamed of myself as i was watching this. It is a moment that feels like it shouldn't be given up for public viewing. That said the officer and principal would have been irresponsible to let it go. She was risking her life and everyone in her path

she moves past the shame she feels and
finds help , nobody's perfect. We all have something we don't want others to know.
As an addict myself she made it more humiliating than it had to be
@@kdizzle901 I wondered about that. It seemed that way to me too. They offered her a very reasonable and relatively painless way to get through that particular phase of what will certainly be a drawn out and deeply demoralizing situation. Do you think she was impaired to the extent that she just wasn't hearing it, or were the stumbling, half-formed lies something that actually sounded reasonable to her in the moment? All very speculative, I know, but it's the aspect of this footage that really grabbed me.
she couldn't admit it. do you think it's been happening for years? the teachers might have noticed signs on other days prior?
She should have admitted early on and asked for help. Might have kept her job that way. I'd say this has been an ongoing issue and she was trying to slide through without anyone outside the room finding out
Wish everyone was compassionate like you❤
My colleague showed up to work normal. Suddenly she was slurring her words, falling over, and reeked of alcohol. She swore she had only drank the night before. Turns out her liver failed and she died within a week. She truly hadn’t had a drink that day, it was really sad. She had been heavily drinking every night for months, I still miss her.
She misses you too. ❤🤲❤️🩹
Probably true. Usually people tell the truth when drunk.
Her body was so used to drinking I had a similar thing almost happen to me I was addicted to muscle relaxers nasty habit my doctors gave me an alternative less sedative
Oh God! So sorry for you.
It takes awhile for alcohol to leave your system and if you drink enough it will take even longer.
I believe she showed up at her court date for this intoxicated.
she is so coherent at .24, it’s insane. She must’ve been drinking heavily for a long time to build that kind of immunity to it, I’ve seen videos of people stumbling at .10-.15
I literally can't function after 2-3 drinks. This woman has to drink all day, constantly, in large amounts.
I agree. She looked great 8 years ago so I bet she’s been drinking at least that long, everyday all day. You don’t age that much in 8 years.
@@janz3627how do you know what she looksvlike 😂😂
Shows that she has a high tolerance.
@@elleelleelleelle_______ There are pictures of her from 8 years ago on her fb pg, and a picture of her 2 years ago on her husband's fb pg (David Coates - bald guy, blue eyes).
I would absolutely hate to have my worst moment plastered all over the internet like this, I can’t imagine. I hope she gets help, alcoholism is a monster. I’m glad no children were harmed, as a parent I would be livid. Just so many different perspectives to look at this from.
Agreed
Although I'm sure she is humiliated that this video is public, perhaps it will help be a wakeup call or the rock bottom she needs to get help and change. It could be a blessing in disguise. I feel so bad for her husband.
I agree with you
Why didnt she just call a cab or uber
Liar liar pants on fire , she should just be honest
i've struggled with alcohol and i completely understand her struggle. this is clearly not the first time she's done this. however, blowing double the legal limit while responsible for children, especially with everything going on in the world today, is absolutely inexcusable. as a teacher, you have a super important duty to do everything in your power to achieve a safe learning environment for these children and she failed miserably.
Limit is 0.8. She blew 2.4. Maybe the cop can't do the math, but someone at the table should be able to since it's a school. THREE times.
The priority is the kids. They have a right to be safe and protected.
@@markishbasedgod5251
You’re nice for explaining everything :) very cool
Triple the legal limit.
"I drank on the way to work."
"Oh well, that's perfectly alright ma'am. So sorry for the misunderstanding. Let me show you the way back to your classroom right away!" 😂
I hope she gets the help that she needs. It’s hard to see someone struggling with addiction, but she can’t be managing a classroom full of children while inebriated.
dont justify it.

Been there, I’ve been clean for 3 years and 9 months. It took me getting my 3rd DUI in 7 years and was facing felony charges. Welp! That escalated slowly. She should’ve just called someone when they gave her a million years to do so. Sometimes shame and humiliation helps people do better next time.
Different words but exactly what I said.
Maybe she was scared to call her husband because he's abusive and that's what plays a role in her drinking....
@@yesplease3673 I didn't get the impression that she couldn't take care of herself. I think she was hoping to get out of this predicament without him knowing. Hopefully she gets sober.
@@yesplease3673 Look at you helping her grasp at straws. P.S. You basically accused her husband of being an abuser and he is a teacher as well - per her words. So be careful slinging the mud to protect a woman who is an alcoholic and still has not reached her bottom or realizing it is only her to pull herself out. Maybe her husband saw her after work yesterday when she drove home at three or four times the limit and said that he would not stand for it as she drank herself silly until 3 a.m. - and then continued the next morning. Listen to her change her crying (no tears) and pleading and lying - this is a HER problem - not her husband's. Shame on you.

It sounds like she is used to getting out of trouble by lying, crying and stammering, and finally, these people didn’t fall for it.
