You had me kind of worried. I noticed that you always smile and seem really friendly, but the way you smiled was so empty it hurt to watch you. You're hurting like crazy on the inside, yet you grin and bare it."
it's hard to believe that this character is actually an alien angel who's power stems from the sun and has the power to destroy whole metropolis's if he so wanted to.
He’s incredibly badass. He’s a very subtly and well written character. He carries a lot of pain and it’s his backstory that makes him badass. Also of course, his moments where he’s a cool gunslinger.
I don't think Vash is as much of an idiot as he lets on. I think what he really is is a massive troll. Vash knows the way he acts is goofy. He does it intentionally to throw people hunting him off his trail, as well as diffuse situations to avoid killing anyone. In a sense, he's sort of masking both out of necessity and as a coping mechanism to handle the pain he's been through. The glimpses of the real Vash that we catch when things get serious are some of the most startling parts of the show.
He's like that BECAUSE of the fucked up stuff. and the way Rem raised him. I know he's an anime character but whenever I get angry or mean I think "What would Vash do?"
That’s really good actually. He’s cheerful, compassionate and humane. I wish more protagonists could be like this, so kids could have a good role model. I don’t really like most anime and films nowadays , they lead you to think violence is the only way to solve problems.

Vash is such an idiot. I love him; he never fails to make me laugh. There aren't many anime characters I know of like him. I just wish they expanded the series a little more. There's a lot of great plot detail they missed from the manga. It doesn't have to be exactly like the manga, but the manga made Knives' motivations make more sense.
He’s one of my favorites but there’s a ton of other great ones too, like Edward Elric, Ichigo, LeLouch, Char Aznable and Denji as some other examples on my list

Trigun is one of the only animes I can think of where the English VA is better than the Japanese one. The whole cast does a really great job, especially the VA's for Vash, Millie and Meryl.
