- ALF listens to the neighbors, the Ochmoneks, fight during a power blackout. Things start to get heated between the couple again and ALF is worried something terrible has happened. Naturally, he breaks into the Ochmoneks’ home to search for clues.

ALF follows the adventures of Gordon Shumway, a furry, wise-cracking alien from the planet Melmac who crash lands into the garage of the Tanner family. The Tanners offer him a home and give him the nickname ALF, short for “Alien Life Form.” Created by Tom Patchett (The Carol Burnett Show) and Paul Fusco (who also performed as ALF), the half-hour sitcom rose to popularity in the late 1980s, cementing itself in the pop culture zeitgeist.

@@scottysatpanalysis Breaking the fourth wall is a euphemism for characters in a TV show recognizing that they are in a TV show. It is termed so because because in most sitcoms you see three walls of the house with the fourth wall assumed to be behind the cameras.

The German set is great-they also play in the original English and the episodes are uncut, unlike sets sold in U.S.
There are parts missing, just like on the DVD. (Years ago, I had this episode recorded on a VHS.)
Yeah, I specifically remember a scene where Alf sees Trevor in silhouette holding up his ice pick (I think). It's not here.

The whole notion of being in a house without air conditioning in the summer is awful. Been there, done that. It should be illegal.
Nobody has AC in Germany. And it gets hot here too. Nobody could pay their energy bills, AC units need so much. We aren’t used to anything else. i remember being sick all the time in the US from the icy cold rooms, busses and cars in summer
@@OrangeTabbyCat I live in the SF Bay Area which is a fairly temperate climate, and California is a lot like Germany in many ways.
Heatwaves are very unusual were I live. However, I do have a portable A/C unit since most of the older buildings, like the one I live in, do not come equipped with central A/C.
I bought it because in the summer of 2017, we had a really awful heatwave that lasted for nearly two weeks. Even the coast got triple digits. I got zero sleep and was sick because of it, and I decided "never again", so I spend $500 on a unit.
The only drawback is the noise. But it is easier for me to tune that out that deal with hot and stuffy. As long as you keep the filter clean, it works very well.
Fortunately, I haven't had to use it that much since. At most, maybe three or four days in a row. I look at it like it is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
As far as the energy bill cost, that is the mismanagement of the government and all this Green New Deal crap they have been pushing for years which has nothing to do with the climate. It is just a means of control to inflict pain and suffering on the people because governments, by nature, are fascist.
They are just very good at weaponizing empathy and stupid guilt to getting well meaning people to hand over that control to them. And those well meaning people will just make every excuse in the world for their abusers and the abuse that is inflicted upon them.
Hey, that's nothing - one of the Gilbert & Sullivan operas, _Princess Ida,_ premiered on a hot summer's day, before air conditioning was even *invented.* It went about as well as you'd expect, as dramatised in the film _Topsy Turvy._
