Assets are a great auxiliary tool for Camtasia, but not for a $200/year subscription fee. That is way too excessive a price to pay, given that the maintenance fee for the primary tool itself is around $50. Drop the Assets fee to around $30, and you've got the perfect marriage. Otherwise, as I've pointed out before, I'll simply say, "Thanks, but no thanks."

Exactly! I just paid for the camatasia and screen recording app but saw the assets as too too expensive. That marriage you spoke of would be nice 😊

Thank you for your suggestion. While the price won't change any time soon, we still offer many free assets for those who don't see value in paying for the premium tier.

@@techsmith You're welcome. But, this isn't the first time I've made the suggestion, and this has been ongoing for over a year. As for your "free assets," they are very rudimentary at best, as well as few-and-far between. Clearly, Camtasia can do better. I know it can.

I like Camtasia and have used it for a long time, but it's hard not to see it as a cash grab when I pay around $400 for a tool and then am limited to less than stellar assets because they want more money. Either reduce the price of the tool itself or stop with the "micro transactions" please.

What kind of assets were you hoping to see in the free tier that aren't available? Anything specific?

@@techsmith More audio visualizers, access to the Animations assets, UI Kits, Sound Effects, etc. I understand a business needs to make money, it's just that this is the only "expensive" software I personally have ever owned that had so much content behind another pay wall. A little disappointing is all.
