He would've pulled all the oxygen out of the room. I love watching him (the sushi scene is one of my favorites in all television), but he wasn't a "plot forwarding" character. His best was in reacting to situations, not creating them. It would've gotten exhausting creating scenes just to keep giving Wags the good stuff.

Making him the protagonist of a show will prove there's not enough in the character. The show will not be up-to-scratch, leaving a bad memory of Wagstaff. If you had that hacking ability there would be no need to raise money. Money is just entries on databases of banks. Hack a bank and credit yourself money. Hack an exchange and give yourself stocks. Hack the land registry and give yourself a title to some land.

that section of "code" on the screen looked like an RSA private key which is randomly created by a RNG (random number generator). It is not something a hacker writes himself and potentially uses a personally identifiable bit of info
I doubt they want to put real hacker code up on a screen that people might be able to learn from or use.

It was very clear who the bad guys were and now they are all just bad guys and fans cheering them on like heroes. It's fictional so no big deal.
