The Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has again disrupted an event, expressing her displeasure at the organization of a workshop without her knowledge “waste of money. The event, a validation workshop for the third-generation national action plan (2024-2029) on the UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR), was held in Abuja on Wednesday.
In the viral video, shared by Symfoni on Thursday, the minister was seen storming the event and warning officials against organizing programs without her knowledge. Kennedy-Ohanenye criticized the use of funds for programs that do not have a direct impact on the people. She also highlighted the suffering of women and children, emphasizing the need for effective solutions to poverty.
She said, “Let this be the last time women’s affairs will organise anything that I am not aware of. You try next time; I will come here and get you people disgraced. I know what I am going through in this country. For a while, this is what we keep on organising,” she said. Few weeks ago, there was a hunger protest, and they talked about peace and security. Women are not empowered.
