Hi Buck. One thing people don't realize with the timber industry is it is fully sustainable, whereas the iron ore and bauxite and oil when removed from the ground it is gone where trees regrow.
No Birds. Back about 40 years ago it started off as Bayswater Hire Cars. Bayswater was the suburb they started in. All the other car rental companies included good looking chicks in mini skirts in their ads, Bayswater didn’t. Instead they used the catch phrase “no birds”. It stuck.
Great video buddy showing some of the great sights of the best state in Australia, great news about the Gloucester tree reopening, I did it long time ago, very high, lov the south West, could live down there
FYI- The big old growth trees like the Gloucester tree were mainly harvested by timber getters back in the day to permanently land clear for those lovely hay paddocks you mentioned. Forestry agencies were established over a hundred years ago (decades before the National Parks) to stop the agricultural clearing onslaught and have since been heavily regulated and big trees like that had to be retained as habitat trees. Those old trees aren’t good for timber anyway as they have a lot of pipes and defects. Also, modern day mills only process logs to a certain size. We should all thank the forestry management and the men and women staff for those standing forests we can enjoy today.
Lovely ep and spot Mr Rogers. I climbed the gloucester tree in 1988. I think it's a shame they are shutting all our forests as lots of them younger trees in QLD forests around my area were planted by our diggers after coming back from WW2 to give us timber,
Nice Video Buck! You continue to show up entaining and peaceful videos of Australia. Making me start a cash jar to visit one day. Never be rich enough to off road but I might be on a nerdy tourbus one day with a smile painted on :D
Yes mate I try and keep my videos positive. There is enough bad news in the world today. I try and keep positive and take peoples minds off all the shit going on in the world. Mate to tell you the truth, after mt previous jobs, this is why I do this stuff. Helping me move forward from 19 years of dealing with horrible people.
Hey Buck great clips haven't been W A .great country sadly you and Roz missed the south West and south East of Vic and SA. Just the same as there , cut hay and cattle with feed up to their guts. If ever this way again come this time of the year. Love your clips keep them coming.
Great stuff mate. Enjoying this series. As a NSW bloke we don’t ever get to see much of the other side of the country, would love to do a month or 2 over there one day. Cheers
Gday Buck, I'm going over to WA from Vic next year and staying in Bussellton and Pemberton. Looking forward to a stop over at Marannup bakery. Fantastic drone footage of the jetty absolutely first class mate.
@@sg4364 Nannup bakery. that's it. You will not be disappointed by the Great Ocean Road drive. Coming from the west is the best direction to drive it. The ocean views on your right are spectacular. there are plenty of stop off destinations and of course bakeries along the way. Otway Ranges, 12 Apostles, Lorne, Anglesea, Torquay, Bells Beach and Portarlington for mussels. There a lot of beautiful wineries in this area as well that are worth a look at. Hope you have a great trip.
Curious near the very end there are a few swimmers and a boarder rope, do the ropes mean like nets to keep away sharks and jelly fish and junk so you can exercise safely? or maybe just a boat marker to keep boats away??

Very true mate. I think we need to plant more forests for timber. It's not like we don't have the room here.
Great part of the country mate thanks for sharing your travels with us, we’ll hopefully get over there one day.
Nice Work Buck 👏. Very stunning country we have thanks for taking your time to show us.

Yeah what a beautiful spot...you can see why so many kiwis have moved there.. cheers Buck.
🤣
You're getting better with the drone shots mate 👌🍻👍
I just stick to the basics mate. I don't let it get too far away. The small drones are bloody hard to see when they are up in the air.

I think it's the Nannup Bakery he mentioned. I'm from WA about to head over to Vic to do the Great Ocean Road and beyond. Can't wait.

Hey Buck any videos as too why and when you decided too go a full van…Ray
No mate. It attracts too many dickheads in the comments section. We just do us mate.
When you were at the Remembrance Day ceremony in Mandurah you would have been close to rubbing shoulders with Andrew Hastie.
I want to go there just for the water and jetty
It's worth it. Pretty sure you can now fly direct to SW without having to stop in Perth.

I think jellyfish and sharks.
