He was actually blacklisted from Premier League clubs due to the fact West Ham did not want to pay him off and his brother got involved and threatened the chairman. The chairman paid up and Alan never got another job in the Premier League again. Got offered a few level league jobs, which was a shame as he was a very good manager.

if all that nonsense hadn't occurred at west ham when alan was manager i'm sure hammers would have eventually become a premier league force, alan is claret and blue through and through, he could have taken west ham to the next level instead of the perennial struggles that have continued notwithstanding moyes initial progress which now seems to have ended, if moyes is sacked (i think he will be) alan would be a great choice to succeed him

Just hearing him talk about how it used to be growing made me sad. I never see kids out playing football anymore.
We used to have massive games against the next street. Then you'd end up mates with them and joining to play against lads from a few streets down 😂

I think when he was at Charlton they often had an excellent ‘middle third’ of the season, with their fans then getting excited about potentially qualifying for the UEFA Cup or maybe even finishing in the top 4, before their form then nosedived during the final stretch of the season and they finished mid-table.
I think had things been the other way around, and they struggled during the middle of seasons before finishing strongly, the fans who grumbled probably would have been a lot happier. After returning to the Premier League in 2000, they never faced any relegation danger at all under Curbishley from 2001-2006.

Timing is pretty overlooked sometimes. Ten Hag has been idolised this season at Utd for a winning streak since the world cup. Look into it though, and somehow most of their matches in that time have been at home, and almost all of the opponents they've met/beaten have been in the bottom 5 or lower.

Another pointless interview by GBEEBIES. Hasn't managed at any level in over 15 years, his last big achievements in the football world were over 20 years ago and anyone under 30 who is into football probably doesn't even remember him properly or if they do it is as a footnote. His record as a manager overall wasn't even that good anyway? Was Harry Redknapp not available or something?
It's like this channel is trying to be backward. "Oh he's an east-end boy". Yeah? So what?

The interview with another footballer..Big Nev...was dreadful and awkward...all due to Nev's madness. He seemed deranged.

Toad face is sinking low interviewing Alan curbishley about his Charlton exploits. Next he will try to get Linekers job. I feel cheated having once thought he could be PM. Next time I'll vote remain.

Does Farage actually know anything about football? He sounds clueless. He called it “soccer”.

I guarantee Nigel Farage has never set foot in a football ground. It's all just part of his "I'm just an ordinary, pint drinking working class bloke" image that he wants to portray. Despite the fact that he is a millionaire former city worker.😂😂

Does an interviewer need to have strong background knowledge on every guest's specialist subject? Most people's football recall has been created from a life of watching the game in person/TV and discussing with mates etc... not everyone likes this sport. I'd like to see you interview a professional shuffleboard player and sound like you're not clueless.

@@Dezzasheep A proper journalist would have some background knowledge of the person they are interviewing. That's just basic professionalism.

@@chriswilkinson7636 Yes... although it's obvious farage isnt a big football fan, he knew enough to keep the interview ticking over letting Curbishley talk about his story. Calling it 'soccer' (yes i hate that term also) doesn't make him clueless. Few interviewers can be as well informed on as many subjects as joe rogan.
You must have watched a different interview to me 🤷‍♂
