RIP Taylor Hawkins- the guy looked so damn cool whaling on those drums and legit had the skills to pay the bills. This is the video of a master at work.
Yeah, it just occurred to me that no artist captures the late '90s zeitgeist more than Alanis. Maybe Dave Matthews. But Alanis really stands above pretty much everyone else.
I love this performance from Taylor Hawkins, it shows how the drums can enhance an already great song to new levels when played live. Such a cool groove and the love for detail! RIP

Graduated HS in 1980, was well entrenched as a cook, in my 30's when I was exposed to this album. Love at first listen, this is a great album, the drumming is tasty AF. Taylor is so so great here, hes swinging, rocking and playing straight ahead throughout the whole performance. A superb showing of his wonderful skills. Time sure does fly my friend. Good Health To You!
@@aflgeek6734 eggs fckn zactly brotha..you can say that again. So sad about Taylor...to young to much to give! I love his drumming in this live it's better than the record
I love how she carries herself... her hands often cannot be controlled when she performs but she clearly doesn't shun from sharing her wonderful talent. Love since the 90s Alanis 🤲
Jon Nelson another great song by her I use to sing in middle school there taylor Hawkins from foo fighters he was drummer for her now drummer of the foos
The greatest album by any woman, anywhere, anytime. It surprised the hell out of me at the time with its brutal honesty and its unfashionable cadence. Oh ya baby!
R.I.P. Taylor. 😔 This performance was was when you first came on my radar. Your tasty drumming with Alanis totally elevated the songs, and I admittedly ripped off some of those grooves and fills when playing with my own bands. Thank you. ❤
Wow I wasn't expecting such an amazing performance. First time seeing live video. She sounds so good. And give it up for the drummer!! Super awesome beat!!!...I didn't notice it was Taylor Hawkins on drums till 2 weeks after I wrote this comment I had to come back and edit it. So cool
So it was Taylor, what a phenomenal drummer, allows Alanis to shine here and takes this tune to the next level. Best live version of this song I've ever heard.
I was there… at the bataclan in 96. I was 19, unaware this was going on film. Her energy and scene moves man… this gives me the chills just to see this again.
We saw her in St. Louis in September, 2021. Before the concert, I wasn’t a huge fan of hers, but my girlfriend loved her. The concert made me a HUGE fan; she was so good! I cried when sang “Thank You” at the end. BTW, I’m a 57-year old guy who previously served in the Marines; there I was - bawling like a baby!!!
Quelle voix de Alanis, pour moi la plus belle voix Canadienne, quels talents, quel duo avec Taylor, cette version me file les poils. Merci Nagui pour ton émission.
Love her, the voice & her music! Always has been in my top 5 female artists. Each song she performs is brilliance to say the least. Her songs give me goosebumbs & the words aim for the heart. Her style is amazing!
You know who has the #1 best selling album of all time done by a female artist in any music genre ? She is also Canadian and her album "Come On Over" sold over 40 million units worldwide and that is Shania Twain. Throw Avri Lavigne in the mix as being the third best selling Canadian female artist of all time behind Celine Dion and Shania Twain and you can see how Canadian female artists dominated the music industry during the 1990's and 2000's.
Here in 2024?
Yes 💯
Here in 2024 😌

Yes, it is the year 2024

2023 and it still gives me the same feeling I had hearing in 1996, love it!
Yeah, it just occurred to me that no artist captures the late '90s zeitgeist more than Alanis. Maybe Dave Matthews. But Alanis really stands above pretty much everyone else.
Absolute powerhouse
This is clearly one of her best performances of this song ever. She’s totally amazing
The Woodstock '99 version was better in my opinion. Both are still fantastic though.

She's a gemini...they're "zone" is primarily hands and arms 🤷♀️❤
Has anyone noticed how good her band is the drummer and bass player especially have such a unique sound. I’ve always loved her music
Maybe because the drummer is Taylor, from Foo Fighters and the bass player for Alanis live performances was usually Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers...
filuferru. I didn’t know that thanks 👍
She broke the stereotype mold for female artists as the whole album was so original and honest.
I’d love to meet this great talented woman.

Alanis Morissette the Type of Woman to be so pure she dosn't even understand it
Her singing style is wonderfully weird and particular. Love her sound.
You must all be too young but Joan Jett and Pat Benatar were/are better.
John Acquavella Nah dude and i’ve listened to both extensively
I am glad that I have evolved enough to appreciate her music.
