I have been flying DJI drones since 2017 until now, when I had a signal range of 400m or 1300ft with the Phantom 2 V+ and that was glorious back then! But I rate this Potensic even with minor shortcomings, such as the waypoints fly in straight lines, not arcs, and it is only possible to plan within about 500m from the HP, or it does not have anti-collision sensors and other trifles. So I rate this drone as successful and great for beginners. As we can see, it can cover a distance of around 4.5 km, which is a nice result, it can also use intelligent modes (quick shot), the 4K camera has a nice stable image... The battery lasts 32 minutes. It is well. the price is about 400 dollars or 386 Euro appeared in our Czech market for the combo version. The drone itself then costs around 295 Euro or 309 dollars approximately. It is well. Good price so I praise this drone.

I like the video but you spent over 15% of the battery sight seeing and talking. Not exactly a range test.
Did you watch the whole video? After the first one he put a new battery in and sent it out again, this time ignoring the low battery warning and got it to 4.7km before returning. I think that’s a good range test.
Relax. Easy to figure out that yes! It's capable of 6km.
You have waisted a lot of battery time with talking and going straight up to a high altitude stopping and panning around. Fresh battery no talk off the ground and go straight line don't stop

I'm interested on this drone and I've seen some long-range flights at the pilot's own risk, without FPV and canceling Return to Home. Potensic reached 4330 meters away, returned to the starting point with more than 30% battery.
I wouldn't take that risk, but this risky experience was useful in giving us a basis for the limits of this drone.

Everything ive seen about this drone is its basically a slightly cheaper DJi mini 2 SE with some slightly better functions and good enough range to be considered a relatively easy to use and safe drone to fly. I can't say much for the one I have now. It works. but it like to throw fits sometimes
The DJI mini 2 SE only goes up to 2.7k for video doesn’t it? I would have thought this is more an alternative to the DJI mini 3 which is almost twice the price.

Wasted way to much time and battery before you even started the range test. Think you had already used approx 20% of battery. After explaining the camera and RTH you should of changed battery for a true test. However I do like the way that you put the video together and the way in which you explain things.

You wasted 15% of your battery hovering trying fix your settings. That's maximum range test is no longer valid..at least not for.fully charged battery.
That's why there's two runs.

I think you could have gotten further by taking off immediately vs. losing over 5% battery covering the points you were discussing. That was important content, but a full battery could have helped achieve a greater distance. What is the most efficient speed for the Atom?
Video speed is the most battery saving speed to fly at.

Weird how conservative the RTH was on your first attempt; it landed with still 50% power left! Nice to know what the Atom is capable of (impressive!) but like you, I would never fly out that far and keep the quad much closer.
I like to fly around 60-80 meters high when doing distance tests. I get better results than flying higher like 110 meters and because of the 50% battery life left in the 1st run, I was emboldened to push it on the second run but chose 90 meters instead and got better results. Regardless, that is some crazy distances this thing can fly.

Great video. Inspired me to hit purchase on Amazon. I wonder if sitting close to your car with the hatch open created an oddity in the signal causing the drone to lose signal shorter in distance than long.

That's all I need to see plus the video looks great buying one thank you. Bought a holy Stone 720r. And it's 50/50 whether you're going to have a decent flight or it's going to toilet bowl and crash. One flew away on me they were nice enough to replace it but same issue so returning it and definitely going to buy the Adam. Would probably go with the DJI mini 3 but with the accusations that I don't want to support that type of thing and don't want to buy something that's about to get banned we're going to go with the little atom here. And it's $100 cheaper

where i live i need the return altitude to at least 350ft, tall trees.
That's 110 metres so lower than the 1st flight, a hair higher than the 2nd

I'm a little concerned that your gimbal angle was -5, -7 during some of that flight. Noticed it more on the first flight. Is that something you can tap on the camera icon and manually reset? Or is it fully drone-controlled?
I understand that the ground didn't have much contrast but there was a horizon and it would seem the camera would want to keep that pretty close to zero at all times.
That would be the camera tilt angle and not the horizon level.

It isn't like a dji where it freezes or can't take off once you get close to restricted zones so you gotta make the call.

I didn't achieve anything. It simply just says 10-800 meters.

Thanks! Good question. I just got used to the metric system. I can somehow better comprehend the distance perhaps due to being in the army.

Metric makes far more sense because it's based on even numbers and zero points, like water freezes at 0 in metric instead of 32F which makes way more sense. It's simply a far superior system but like all things, it's annoying if you weren't raised using it.
The mile is a natural metric system based on 1000 paces of the average Roman soldier. Turns out many people have the average pace of a Roman soldier (5.3ft every two steps = 1 pace). Try counting your paces when you go for a walk next time. Compare to your phone GPS/tracker. You can’t get 10 factor with meters or km related to human stride.

Dji mini 2.. Much better camera and zoom.. Atom has no zoom and is half the size camera of the dji mini 2.. Only if you find the mini 2 it's then worth buying..

I know! I tried flying the Atom SE recently and it wouldn't let me fly without an update which I did but now even the SE is stuttering!
I got mine in the mail today. Went to try it out....like it so far. It said it reached it's range distance at @240 ft...what did I do wrong? Anyone have any ideas?
Set the max distance to infinity and turn off beginner mode.

@@user-du2of3lh1g They say 3-5 days for shipping - I don't think boats are that fast. They have to clear Customs when they arrive, then might be put on a truck to get to our houses. Customs is probably the longest delay in the whole scheme of things. I used to work for a FedEx supplier and if they post a "delivery by" date they do their best to make it. There are no bad weather systems happening right now so we may be in luck!

A distant test, if you buy a potensic product you will need a personal distant test to see if you can last the distance with the potensic after sales service support team. Because they will slowly wear you down. In the end you'll be glad to pay for any faulty parts you need what ever the cost. By the way if you need to contact potensic after sales service support, for any assistance, then be prepared to spend a week or more answering their emails everyday at 12 I click spot on, then you reply, then have to wait until 12 I click the following day, and so on. You might have to take a couple of weeks off work to solve the problem.
