What vintage bikes? For vintage bikes you need twin shock rears, bare minimum. Even that's not vintage, just classic. Shame on him not having knobbys fitted for such a ride through the trails- my XL500s would put that bike to shame there!
@@rossbrumby1957 vintage (classic) is 25 years according to motor vehicle in my state, not talking vintage race class here. Can’t disagree an xl is probly better on dirt then a trans alp But the difference is nobody wants an XL 500 because they suck! Especially the twin carbs. People will stand in line for a clean trans alp
sometime i saw some (intelligent) guys with a very simple modded Honda Dominator : only lightened and an high fender (and very chip bike today) thats ALL you really need, mass of stupids (with frigid wifes..) ha ha ha !!!
Stands up stiff legged till he scares himself them sits down....Bend your knees transfer weight to front or rear of machine as needed easy on the throttle give the tire a little time to work. Nope I'm sure no expert but I watched Malcolm Smith do it and he is.
@@Checkpat Many years ago i went a little nuts and drove through a large forrest with a Blackbird. While resting in the evening a hiker showed up and wondered where the road was regarding my bike and i said ... There aint no road ... and then we laughed for a while. You live for those moments. There was a guy who once drove straight through a dessert on a Yamaha R1 and made a movie about it, cant remember his name. Take care and have a nice life. 😊👍
Awesome display of skill not scratching the old girl, got to love the old guys on vintage bikes setting the bar

Man this dude knows how to handle a big bike! Good job!
respectable effort, at least one guy tried having fun
That takes a special kind of person. Way to stay upright!
It's funny this video came up in my suggested videos. That was a great day, I'm somewhere in that collection of questionable people.
I was shocked to see it has over 200K views! And I'm not the one riding, just filming...lol.
Lacks traction but man that old girls got some power Honda 💪
Great skill and determination. He just needed the right bike, and tires.
Or a bitumen hill.
The bike was right. The tyres weren't
He made it then, I just missed recording it.
Mostly tires I'd say
Just needs good tyres
I am buying one in a few days, 2001, 650cc, cant wait to ride it :)
Excellent skills !
10 out of 10 for effort
Why the hell isn't any one else trying. There's enough people there.
Amazing skills and balance
Cool! Great control
I'm amazed how many people are just sitting there watching and not having a crack
Others did too, just not at the same time.
Great rider 👍👍👍now he can travel with comfort and not having to change the oil every 6 hours!!!!.
Check out Grand Enduro Slovenia guys. One of them has a modified Transalp and he makes miracles with it.
Transalp Rules... Forever!
If you enjoy this vid can I recommend a channel. 4- 700 melnikov, the guys a nutter. You should see him ride a bandit 1200 off road 😂
I confirm he's crazy.
I love it, way to go man
It looks so easy from my bed holding my iPhone in hand :-)
Great effort
Awesome 😎
You’re gonna have to put some tires in that thing LOL.
You guys have the Transalp in the US?
I'm a bit confused, I thought the TA never made it to America!
It did a few years.
I never seen one before. Had in Argentina when I was living there. Another bike i haven't seen in the US is the Super Tenere Yamaha.
The transalp is simply to heavy
Nice skill, is, very slippery there…

He is doing it on purpose you say🤣
Not enough torque and wrong tires. lol My old Desmo Duc 350 could eat that hill up like it wasn't there!
без пробега по рф)))
excelente
A 250 Suzuki would mangle that
Nice job
solo qui c'è così tanta pena e tristezza .
Povere moto!!😨
The bike is just too heavy !
Take my hat off 😲
Let some air out of the rear tire.......
Hill limbs never look steep on video

I could have done that with my Hayabusa. 😊👍
One hand in the back 😎

It is Sjaak Lucassen who rode a r1 in the desert
@@Checkpat Yeah, thats the guy. Have a nice life. 😊👍
@@fonziebulldog5786 nick sanders? He rode around the world on an R1.
So many wankers sitting around watching one guy try a hill. Sad.
I’ve gone up bigger hills on a bicycle he’s really bad
most disgusting bike ever made.
You ever ride one ?? Doubt it
Pointless.
Top man...when every one else is chicken
He wasn't the only one the went up.
