Ahh! I’m so excited to see a historical romance read-a-thon! I am definitely going to need to join in and work on picking out some books! ❤️ These are some great recs too, going to need to write them down!
For a wallflower hero perhaps Sir Wallace in the last book of the Groom series by Rose Gordon? Maybe even Alex in the first book of the series? He's more of a nerd though, really! I think what I need to read more of is books with nerdy heroes! I think the Groom series by Rose Gordon does check off a few boxes for anyone who wants to read! It's just 4 books and there's a single parent, scarred hero in there too! As well as a kind of marriage of convenience going on. All around she's just a great writer and those books were so very good ugh.
I had been reading Johanna Lindsay, RIP, all most of her early books except the last one. I will love to revisé some of her books. Thanks for speak about her, she will be missed.😟😔😢😭😪😦
Love love romance novels, I grew up reading quite a lot of bodice rippers , some in the eighties and early nineties are really controversial, they deal with dark themes that you don’t really get in modern romances, Catherine Anderson Catherine coulter are authors from this era, check out Kristen Ashley’s A golden dynasty, one of my all time favourite.🥰🥰😍
Lola Bint ah don’t get nervous 😂but they can be a bit Un-pc , golden dynasty for instance has a hero who rapes and hits the heroine. I don’t get offended by these types of books ,it’s our choice to read them. But in the era they are set in women were property and they belonged to their fathers and then husbands even children from marriage belonged to the husband , women had absolutely no rights. I think that’s why I love historical romances, if it is well written and research they offer an insight into the past and how much women have gained independence. 💋
I love that KA fantasy series!! 😍 And yes to the un-PC part for old school romances 😂 A lot of them have what we’d consider rape - heroine says no in the beginning but likes it in the end 🤷🏻♀️ Not all are like this of course but it was a thing!
LaceyBooklovers yes your right, but some people get really upset about them , at the end of the day it’s fiction we should have the right to read whatever we like, Kristen Ashley is one of my favourite authors I like Tillie Cole also.🤣😄😀😄😆
You don’t know how long I’ve been wanting to read a book with pirates🤩 Maybe I’m not good at searching and it’s just me, but I feel pirates are hard to find.
KinderMann I was in a public library and found posted by Linda Miller title pistes Joann Lindsay a/ka Heather graham wrote Books about pirates. You can find in public library discounts stores and people sellers in streets and Also In amazon who sales in amazon.
There the inspirational books some people believe that is above religious preacher No is about woman inteligent wise and fight as warriors for their rights but romantic but no graphs woman who defends their rights and the others. What like that they fights for others and noble causes and important they love their men but they most respect and le arm from. I recommend Elizabeth Camden and others. Give her an opportunity you will not regret.

Brazen and the Beast by Sarah MacLean is a recent historical with some amazing literal bodice ripping. It’s a great book!
Sadly I wasn’t the biggest fan of either book in the series but I am looking forward to book 3!
The Eclectic Reader Maclean’s is really famous one of the best and I recommend Sophia Barnes. Her series are great.
Great recommendations!

What kind of dark themes? You got me nervous lmao 😩

You don’t know how long I’ve been wanting to read a book with pirates🤩 Maybe I’m not good at searching and it’s just me, but I feel pirates are hard to find.
Cynthia Wright is great writer to me and she has quite a few i believe! He's a captain rather, does that count as pirate? Hope so! Lmao.
Lola Bint Thanks! I’ll have to check her out! And idk we’ll have to see haha
I’d count captains as pirates!
LaceyBooklovers I guess it all depends if that captain robs and attacks ships right🤔

Do you read Amazon historical romance in kindle only? They are less expensive and I really wonder whether you read in that form? I read both.
I also read both ebook and paperback! But most of my HRs come from used bookstores, so super cheap.
I love your recommendations , most TH-camrs recommendations are young romance that is not my kind of books
💗💗💗
@@LaceyBooklovers thank you , really love your recommendations
Is there a time travel romance you know of where someone from the past travels to modern day?
A highlander for Christmas by Sandy Blair
A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux, Kiss of the Highlander/The Dark Highlander by Karen Marie Moning, The Last Viking by Sandra Hill!
do you mean a tv show of bridgertons?
Yes!
@@LaceyBooklovers well i hope it matches my imagination and they don't take too much poetical license.
