People born after the 90's will never understand how terrifying encountering the first zombie in the original RE was. Scared the shit outta of me as a kid watching my uncle play the game.
I was completely shocked with the first zombie encounter. It’s low res but still scary.
Pivotal moment in my gaming life. No question.
I'm 12 years old and I love the classic re games. Sad most kids in my generation don't know the good games 😂
This has to be my absolute favorite run so far, just for the charm and dedication this runner put into cosplaying as wesker.
Kudos to Rawderps that actually tried to speedrun the game with the gloves on, even if he decided to wear them off after the piano scene xD dedication to the cause

They changed Richard's voice actor in the DS version because if you play the arranged mode he has an extra line telling the player where to find some ammo. Technically they got new voice actors for Chris and Jill too but only for short incidental clips like saying "yeah" after messing with a record player and "oh" if the player taps them during their idle animation

So could someone explain to me wtf Wesker is talking about in his final cutscene? He starts off with talking about how he's here under orders from Umbrella, then starts talking about how we all just assumed he's working for Umbrella. He's a double agent for a different company right? I've never seen/played RE4-7 bc tbh I'm just not interested in them, so do they help explain what exactly is going on with Wesker? And if so, could someone give me a tldr plz? But anyways, awesome run of an awesome game!
Wesker was STARS Alpha Team commanding officer, but was a double agent for Umbrella, essentially he was under orders from Umbrella to lure the STARS to the mansion so they could be used as test subjects to gather battle data against the mutations (Zombies etc) releasing the Tyrant "kills" Wesker, there was a documentary called Wesker's Report (I think that was the name) which went further explaining he wanted to sell the Tyrant/Other mutations to Umbrella's competition to gain high rank but the STARS took care of it. He survived by injecting himself with an experimental T-Virus variant which gives him superhuman powers when we see him again in Resident Evil Code Veronica :)

There was a T-virus leak executed by doctor Marcus-the main antagonist of RE 0 as an act of revenge on Umb. The company itself decided to use the situation to their advantage by having Alb. W. lure STARS to the Spencer Mansion for collecting battle/progress data on all of their BOWs that were there before covering up everything by having Albert initiate the self-destruct sequence right after retrieving all Tyrant development data. Wesker decided to live big, used Barry on his own accord by bluffing about having his family hostage to help himself do all he was instructed to do, but instead give out data to Umb's rival company for profit. Albert was also instructed to prevent any info leak about Umbrella's true nature, so he and Barry destroyed evidence, above all else, Enrico, the captain of bravo team was shot by Wesker before he could tell alpha team about the real side of Umb. Wesker faked his death with the help of William Birkin-his closest friend and rival at Umbrella by injecting himself with a virus that awakened his dormant progenitor virus genes to escape Umbrella's wrath for betraying them.
TL:DR. Wesker is thought to work for somebody else but in the end he's only interested in himself and later gets owned

I think he was talking about working for himself, getting changed into something more powerful than a normal human, obtain information, amass more ower, just your typical power hungry villain using an evil company that does not even belong to him to do so.
Also, may i ask why you have no interest in RE7 at least since it's basically RE as a horror game again, only as a FPS with much better controls?
At least the other three were action games and while they talked more about the story, only RE4 was actually good and fun...to a point where i genuinely don't care that it's not a survival horror game, even if one were to treat as a spin-off, i think it would still be my favorite Resident Evil game just for being the most fun to actually play through.

I prefer vanilla mansion over the remake. It looks like a regular place and that's what's scary about itcause you never know when you're gonna get jumpscares. The secret places are dirtier and have the abandoned design, you feel the difference between the surface the underground. But the remake is overly spooky and everything is abandoned, dark and creepy. It has no difference between normal and scary stuff.
So Richard ate the snake, I gather? You know, for being COPS, kind of concerning they don't know the difference between POISONOUS and VENOMOUS.

I kinda wish the commentators would stop trying to be funny and just focus on the game and which exploits/tricks/glitches are being done.
Colby Vanquished there were no major glitches to explain, but Derps also ran this same category at SGDQ a couple years ago if you are interested in that kind of commentary.

I prefer the humoristic commentary. If I wanted commentary about the run itself exclusively I'd watch solo Speedrun streams. Not on agdq
Hearing the same old info about each glitch is boring. Watch old runs for that. I've seen speed runs of this game so many times that I'm happy with any different commentary.

I get really pissed off for some reason when someone who donates says something to the runner like "Great job, man!" "Love your cosplay!" (in this situation) and the runner doesn't acknowledge them whatsoever. Lol, just pisses me off, man.
They are concentrating on the game, they have to do shit to the T so they miss hearing stuff lol.
The insular in-jokes make this so boring to watch for a good run...
