I've seen many great reactions to this.. This is in my Top 5. As calm and restrained as she was, her facial expressions spoke loud and clear. The look of trying to process what you're seeing/experiencing is priceless. Stevie has so many jaw dropping performances, but this one seems to get everybody. SRV was unreal. He was next-level special. It pains me to this day that he had to move on. 😞💔 Thank God he left us these gems to continually appreciate. GOAT ✌

I started playing the screechy, hair guitar in 1985 when I was 15. Stevie came along a few years later and instantly had a fan. For anyone who questions if there's a God or a higher power, if you see this, it truly should answer the question. I've been playing for 35 years and can't play like that. Stevie truly is/was a very special person. To play like that truly is a gift. He was chosen, and that's why we only had him for a few years. You should really watch the entire El Mocambo concert. It's the standard for all of his other performances. That night was special. He was on fire. Unless you play and have seen hundreds of his performances, you may not know exactly what I mean. If God plays a Fender Stratocaster, he plays it just like Stevie plays his. 😁

“When I play, I play sort of like talking, you know, syllables, you say a sentence here, a sentence there and then, I’ve to stop and think for something else to keep my conversation going. But his didn’t seem to be that at all. It was fluent, he flowed when he played. He could get something going and it was like a song and it would just go on and on. Ideas continuously flowed, I don’t have that. There is not a lot of people that I hear that have that but Stevie had it.” - BB King
Anything from this Live at El Mocambo concert is the epitome of blues guitar playing.

You MUST listen to SRV's "Ain't Gone 'n' Give Up On Love" live at the Capitol Theater, Passaic, NJ. The passion is incredible... what he communicates through the guitar, AND the vocals makes this performance of the song one of my favorites! My favorite part is where a smile comes to Stevie's face, mid-song, at the audience response, feeling the warmth, the connection. I will always be in love with the music and the man. So full of truth, soul, spirit, generosity, humility, authenticity, a creative flow that is truly organic, genuine passion, and great love!
Be sure to watch "Life Without You" and other performances from this same concert, too.
As you wondered, SRV has many sides to explore through his music, in original pieces and covers. Everything from the blues to rock to jazz. Pensive, joyous, aggressive, rollicking, tongue-in-cheek, heart-warming, ethereal... all Stevie... communicated so sublimely and honestly. You will so enjoy going down this rabbit hole🕳️. Welcome to an artist who is strong enough and vulnerable enough to show you his real self and amazing heart. ❤️ 🎸🕊️ 🎶🐐
