As a student in university with a huge workload of very high level math, a lot of biology, a lot of computer science classes. The iPad helps me keep track of everything and is my study partner. So many flash cards, hand written notes, a lot of ebooks and audiobooks, and a lot of images that need writing on- all only really possible on the iPad with my insane flow and workload. My Mac is good for actual coding but my iPad covers literally everything else plus is a second screen for my Mac. It’s insane what it lets you do
Thanks so much, Christopher. I learned a few crucial things I’d missed about Stage Manager that should make a substantive difference in my work. Great video!
For me, Split View works best probably 80% of the time. But I’m glad Stage Manager is an option because there are some times when it’s the only way. For example, when I need to monitor more than two windows at a time, or to take full advantage of a large external display. There are also some older or less updated apps that don’t support Split View. If I want to see another app alongside one of those, Stage Manager is the only way to get that done.
Thank you, so helpful! Your videos have taught me so much over the past year. The only thing I had to learn on my own was how to do a right-click on an iPad. In browser apps made originally for Windows, but Control + Click did the trick. And in general, I wish there was a big tutorial how to move from Windows to iPad. 🙏 It's not been very smooth ride for me. But really, you've helped a lot.

I use stage manager without a mouse and keyboard and it’s great. It’s less about keyboard and mouse and more about how you are comfortable working. Also I have gone back to the iPad speakers while connected to an external monitor all the time so curious why you can’t.
I was really disappointed when I found out that I can't go back to the iPad speakers when connecting to external monitor/dock. Hope Apple can change this in a future update. One other thing I found a bit annoying is when I set my iPad (11 inch M4 iPad Pro) to only charge to 80%, the external monitor/dock that has power supply will disconnect when it's charged to 80%.
You can use the iPad speakers as audio output in while connecting to a display. This is added around last year. Maybe it doesn’t work because you were connected to wired headphones or something.
Hey, a couple of quick questions: 1. Are you planning on an Obsidian video soon? It would be a massive help and 2. Would you recommend Nano Textured screen? What are your experience with Nano vs. The regular screen on iPad?
Hope the audio out through Ipad speakers when plugged into external monitor becomes a feature. It has better speakers than a Mac Mini so this should not take away from the experience nor should latency be an issue. Is the oled feature worth the upgrade from an m2 pro 11 incher with lcd? Into casual media consumption and light lumafusion editing but am a noobish pixel peeper and enjoy hdr content. Intrigued by having an iPad Pro as a portable solution for on the go edits during meetings and travel, not completely leaving behind the Macbook. Any lighter and more affordable keyboard recommends other than the Magic and Logitech (find the keys a bit too mushy) offers? Thanks! Keep being our iPad hero, Christopher. God speed.
11:00 That’s weird. I’m on iPad Air 4 on iOS 17 and I am able to change my to iPad speakers when connected to an external display. I don’t remember which update but I wasn’t able to do that before and my external morning has no internal speaker. So when I connected to external monitor there would be no sound. Maybe because my monitor is not Apple and has no audio output and that’s why I can output audio from my iPad? 🤔
Thanks for the superb ipad pro tips! Quick question, I have a 240hz monitor, is there any way I can run the ipad external display on anything other than 60hz on my monitor? 2nd question, my bluetooth mouse feels really sluggish when paired with my ipad pro (even on my ipad screen itself), must I use an apple magic mouse to get smooth cursor support?
Hopefully this will speed up my iPad after the last update I have the (2021 ) iPad Pro and it was running atrociously slow and not running anything like LumaFusion or da Vinci resolve
Hi Christopher, very good video as always 😊 I have a question for you as iPad master here on the platform :P My iPad connects automatically to my Macbook with continuity, and I love this feature. But yesterday for instance I was managing some files on my iPad and I had to do a copy/paste to move files from one folder to the other (locally on the iPad), unfortunately, just the action of Copying started a transfer to the clipboard of my Macbook... And it was 36Go of 4k Videos 🙄 I mean, it's a good feature to copy/paste in between devices, but it should transfer at the copy, but only at the pasting 😅 Otherwise, it keeps on transferring useless datas all the time 🤷🏽♂ Is there a way to prevent that?
Hi, thanks for the great content on iPad. I have one question - did you ever face the problem with changing the Safari profiles via Focus mode, while connected to the external monitor? Because this happens to me all the time. Whenever I connect my iPad Pro to the external monitor, the Safari profile switching stops working, when switching focus modes. Thanks!

You can swipe on the edge for slide over apps, this is easier and actually this is the way it works before the 3 dots are added in iPadOS.
So much stuff you can do with a iPad that I didnt knew about.
Awesome!
As a teacher, my iPad is my only computer and I dont know if im the only one who finds Split View more useful and better than stage manager...
I’m a sales rep and for me it depends what I’m doing. I mostly use Split View, but there are times when stage manager makes more sense.
Split View is definitely better. Stage manager isn’t smooth enough to be used correctly

AGREED. I much prefer split view and slide over
Yeh spilt view rocks, I use it every day. I never use Stage Manager though.

I create signs for my retail store and split view is a good send. And especially for those times, I use a side-by-side monitor

I prefer using Split View. I am not a fan of floating windows, and even on my Mac, I tend to limit the number of windows I keep open at a time.
