The plot is set in a fictional history of real-world events and follows the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control. The game primarily takes place during the Third Crusade in the Holy Land in 1191, with the plot revolving around the Secret Order of Assassins, based upon the Hashshashin sect. The player is, in reality, playing as a modern-day man named Desmond Miles, who, through the use of a machine named the "Animus", is allowed the viewing and controlling of the protagonist's genetic memories of his ancestors, in this case, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, a member of the Assassins. Through this plot device, details emerge of a struggle between two factions: the Knights Templar and the Assassins, over an artifact known as the "Apple of Eden", an ancient artifact used to control minds.

The degree to which Altair totally fucks up that first mission is nothing short of hilarious
I forgot how great the dialog was for this game, all the scenes when you talk in the assassins buerea and the enemies cut scenes as well..the dialog was just amazing 👏🏻

2:03:29 when I played AC1 for the first time...this is where it started to dawn on me that something isn't right with what I'm doing for Al-Mualim...because...Jubair is not wrong...he's not right in burning the books either...but his words are not wrong...as is what he says when Altair feathers him...
AC1 did such a fantastic job at blurring the usual black and white concept of good and evil...
just as Lucy said.. Abstergo might have good goals...but the way they go about it is very very bad..and good and evil are relative..the Assassins are no saints either..

I completed this game in about a week! Got way too into it, playing for like 7hrs a day to finish all side misssions! 100% worth it, now I've sold my ps3 and wish I could play it again!

It switches your perspective to first person
it makes it more cinematic and enjoyable

That's why I'm watching this. I just got the Ezio Collection. I have also been playing Origins for a while. Hopefully, this video and the Ezio Collection will fill in some of the gaps in my knowledge.

I know this game gets some flak but, for my money, AC One was phenomenal.
I still hate that they had to kill off Lucy. I’m assuming some disagreement between Ubisoft and Kristen Bell caused this problem but it is a damn shame.
I’m could relate to Lucy’s character better than Desmond. But that is only my humble opinion…

A worm hole of consciousness connecting knowledge and learning....or a season pass for 39.99 with shinny game breaking awesome loot subverted by a bunch of situations rendering my progression and payed for things useless eat my noodles Ubisoft.
