As a hybrid shooter, which camera would you choose?
As astrophotography I always pave to 's' series, but for hybrid I'd say RC is much better because of less crop... only as new user... than again with my large e-mount aps-c collection I'd stay with Alpha.
I would go with the a7Cr due to the 61mp sensor
A7cR no contrast detect? how come? A7rV has 425....

@@thefilmalliance I actually already own the a7iv and was comparing the two. The compact size is what interests me the most, aside from all the extra goodies. I think for now ill just stick with what i have lol

Another epic comparison ❤ thanks for all the hard work you put in those videos 🎉 you mentioned, that you use custom LUTs for exposing with your FX30. May I ask, which LUT you are using? And do you completely expose by eyeballing the scene or do you use zebras in addition to the monitoring LUT? Thank you in advance
Hey there, I use phantom luts and expose my camera at 0.0 on the exposure comp wheel. The lut I used with the fx30 is the “arri look” from phantom luts
@@thefilmalliance thanks for your reply 🙏you mean the arri neutral? I found this to be a little too much on the red side ... And by overexposing by up to 2 stopps I found the image too bright to monitor it properly. I should also try exposing at 0.0. But it seems to be a bit counter intuitive not to overexpose slog 3 😅
Personally, imho, I would choose the one with dual card slots, because at the end of the day what we record video of or take photo of, those are safely recorded (by way of redundancy). Dual card slots give, at least, a peace of mind. I don't mind a bigger body of camera, as long as there is a dual card slot. For still shots (since I mostly take pictures rather than videos), I prefer bodies with dual card slots ( I take pictures with Fujifilm and Canon ). For stills (photos), I still prefer brands other than Sony, because Sony Alpha is too clinical for me. But for videos, I guess Sony Alpha lineups are still the best...
In your diagram comparison between the two cameras, you don't list the a7CR as having any contrast detect autofocus points? Was this an oversight or is it completely omitted from the a7CR?

A7CR has 1,2x crop with 4k60, so you can use aps-c lenses with it and get extra wide angle.
No vignetting?
@@thefilmalliance Depends what lens use. Sigma 16mm f1.4 has no vignetting. Samyang 12mm has little bit vignetting, but can avoid with active steady.

@@xaroikyniem2655 There is no Sony 16mm f1.4. Did you mean Sony 15mm f1.4? You can search google how big is Sony's image circle and compare it to sigma 16mm image circle.

Hi how are you brother, do you think the A7CR is a good camera to do sport photography (Soccer, Basketball…) i like the 61 Mp because i can croo the image and put the person where i want BUT is only 8 fps, what do you think about it bro
Im not sure is it the lighting or post production differences, the white balance of the videos from A7m4 seems to be more vibrant and have more contrast
I have both cams - day time and smaller lenses for the A7CR, night time (HighISO) and heavy lenses for the A7IV. Works well!

Great video! Small point but pretty sure A7CR is 7 stops IBIS, not 5 like the A7IV, so that’s another point to consider.

Thank you for the video. I currently have the A7RV and A7 IV so I understand the sensor difference. I’m a stills shooter. No plans to sell the A7RV but still can’t decide if I will get the A7CR or A7C II to replace the A7 IV. Can’t decide if I want to spend the extra $800 on the CR. The 33 Mpixel sensor is very nice and the size, weight, of the two are the same. Which way should I go? As I said plan to keep the A7RV.
If you plan on keeping the a7rv then go with the A7CII in my opinion
I have many aps c lenses+ a6500 and i can't decide: a6700 or the 7cR to go step by step later on FF lenses. Or a cheaper A7 ? Without the possibilty to have have the full mpx with the apsc lenses on FF....??😕

This is not a valid comparison. The a7CR is based on the a7Riv High MP sensor. The a7Cii is based on v the a7iv a 33 MP sensor.
