In 2019 Holocaust Museum in Skopje, reopened its gates showing an update exhibition of life in the Jewish community before 11th March 1943. That horrific night all the Jews in Macedonia (then Yugoslavia) were gathered under Nazi's order to be sent to Treblinka death camp. No one returned from there. The exhibition continues to the holocaust horrible time and ends with the immigration of the few survivors to the land of Israel.
Artist Maty Grunberg is the Jewish baby that was born and survived the holocaust in N. Macedonia. He was born in a hide on 4th March 1943, a week before the deportation. He immigrated to Israel with his parents and young sister Liora on 1948.
Maty Grunberg became an artist, a sculptor. His exhibition - Haunted Memories is part of the permanent exhibition of the Holocaust Museum in Skopje.
