    In this video I will give a very basic 101 explanation. The finger pulse ox in this video is easy to operate by opening the finger probe, insert your finger and turn it on. As soon as you see the pulse bar on the display, you will get a reading of your actual pulse rate, and your SpO2 (oxygen saturation).

    Infrared -- Infra meaning below, and red, the color. Infra-red light is BELOW red in the spectrum. Inf-"rared" would be used by someone not understanding color and light.

    Infra- a prefix meaning “below. INFRARED=below red. It's not a verb.

    Can you wear the Oximeter while exercising to check heart rate?

    • @affinityhm
      @affinityhm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gilbert Schultz yes you could. It's not the best device for that purpose however as it has a bit of weight to it. It may try and fall off if your running. However if you stopped running for 10 seconds and checked, that would be perfect. Keep it on pocket.

    When you hold down the button it gives a BR# and counts from 1 to 10. What is that? Yes, I know I didn't keep the manual. BTW man! Some of these comments are just mean! Why do people need to comment negativity on anything and everything these days? Anyway if you can answer my first question that would be great!

    Well explained, but there is no logical basis for pronouncing "infrared" to rhyme with "impaired". It's called infra-red because the wavelength is lower or "infra" (Latin - below) that of the lowest part of the visible spectrum (red).

      @@AgustinaQuinteroFelix you may also want to pay attention to arm elevation and make sure you are sitting up with your arm lower than your heart. Always measure in the exact same position. Pulse oximeter readings will always vary quite a bit, but if you find the variance is very high, you may want to begin eating a healthy diet and resting more, that fixed my high variance.
