I love that i am not the only one who went for the keyboard on top, actually slapped two velcro strips on the bottom of the keyboard and on the top of the yoke base, so even if i click the ends protruding the base, it wont shake or fall off. it is rock solid to type on now and very comfortable
I figured out a trick with the Honeycomb yoke when flying a Cirrus and other planes with a side stick. I just mount my yoke to the left of me so the right side of the yoke is just left of my left hand. This simulated a cirrus side stick flying from the left seat
I haven't managed to get those detents to work. They show up as buttons rather than continuations of each lever's axis, and mapping the appropriate function to each detent range does nothing.
The drivers for the LEDs are not though out very well if you have the steam version of FS2020 and it's installed on anything becides the C: drive you will have a lot of fun getting it to work, the installer is not smart enough to correctly find the installation folder or even ask where you have FS installed. This is one of my grips amongst a few other bugs I don't think should be a issue at this price point.
Is there a quick way to change the binding of the controls or each time you change something it'll be a tedious task of changing every lever's fonction 1 by 1 ?
It is quite nice, but the trim wheel is pretty much useless. It is just pulse based switches, not an axis! We need to be demanding they fix this with a driver update.
@Advanced Aircraft Sales Well Redbird may, as you state, be more realistic, but they are around twice as expensive as the Honeycomb. As has been pointed out by many, the Honeycomb yoke and this throttle quadrant is more or less priced in the 'middle' of the market. Not cheap trash nor bloody expensive items that a lot of simulator fans wouldn't be able to afford (like me!).
@@birreboi Sure I get it! I had to make a long term decision on the level of investment I was willing to make. I plan on using this as a tool for over the next decade to train at home when not being able to fly. I've bought three flight sim yokes over the last twenty years, and they were all terrible, and ended up going away. For just $400.00 more, 1000's of hours, years and years of enjoyment it was worth the extra $400.00 over 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 years or so. My only hesitation would it live up to the additional investment, and when I first opened the box there was no comparison. Flying the Redbird YK1 also felt just like flying the real aircraft. Get what you can afford, but those that can swing the extra, and serious about training I highly recommend the Redbird products.
@@advancedaircraft I don't know if you realize or not (I don't think you do), but you're acting as if a $400.00 price jump for one piece of simulation equipment is justifiable for most people. It is not, especially in today's economy. Honeycomb's products are superior to CH and Logitech products for almost the same price. But, thanks to you and a few others, Redbird can stay afloat with their overpriced products.
just visited your store a few days ago and your staff made me very uncomfortable, every time I looked up someone was staring at me.guess I won't buy a headset from you if I get glared at for trying one on
Most pilots I know are not gregarious salesmen types. A common interest is what bonds us. I have found Sporty's people on the phone to be very helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable.
A great review of a great product. Too bad the folks at honeycomb don't have business sense that matches product development. Constant excuses for delay after delay but a lot of units available for review after review. Of course the plandemic is the latest excuse, but remember alpha. The same supply issues plagued that product too. Unfortunately there is no competition for this item, so no hurry or urgency to get it out to the consumer. Very bad business decisions will lead to the demise of yet another flight sim hardware producer.
literally drove 1.5 hours out of Toronto to get the last item in stock, amazing review

I got mine and I absolutely love it. Took 9 months to get it and I was 331 in line for it.

Just ordered mine from Sportys. Now I get to wait eagerly for the back order of both these items.
Bar none the best review of flight sim stuff on the Tube
Good review! I wish it weren't backordered for months.
Been waiting since November for the alpha and bravo. Crazy how much sellers on Amazon are gouging the price.
We are shipping a large volume every month, so we'd encourage anyone who's interested to place an order today to save your spot in line.
@@sportyspilotshop Got mine on order says back-order 04/21 :(
I guess it can’t be helped when the Demand greatly overwhelms the Supply.
@@michaelmurray11189 If you make a good product at a fair price they will buy (More than you thought LOL)
Will have to wait until after Christmas to buy this wonderful piece of equipment.
I ordered the honeycomb throttle about a year ago and it still hasn’t came😢

Had mine for 2 weeks and the #2 engine reverser stopped working
Hoping mine ships soon, was supposed to go on June 30th, now it's August 3rd. The demand for these things are insane.
Does the throttle quadrant works with flight simulator x 2006 year?

Great review, Great yoke and Throttle. Now send me the Throttle I ordered several weeks ago ASAP. Pretty, Please!!
Did it arrive yet?
can you use it without the yoke?
How the hell do you get this thing to work on FSX steam
everything sounds tempting. Your video is very good. I have to start playing the lottery.
Will these work with old FSX version?
Thanks for the very informative and succinct video. I appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing. But how will you assign the upper button switches please?
Good review just wish there was more can angles to see closer
Nice review. Cannot wait to receive mine!
Excellent review!

I know that at least in Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 you can set up control profiles so you can just change the profile and have the inputs saved
Hey, Private Pilot here, would it be possible to get a product PIREP video on VR with Microsoft Flight sim 2020
when does the next shipment of honeycomb yokes come
We are shipping new yokes and throttles almost weekly, but demand is very high.
Nice… for when on XBOX?
Is this configurable for single engine?
Yes it is. Very flexible.
It is quite nice, but the trim wheel is pretty much useless. It is just pulse based switches, not an axis!

Great now they just need to make some Pedals and the honeycomb system will be nearly perfect..
They're working on pedals
Redbird is 10X more realistic! Just picked up from Sporty’s last week. Made this one feel like a toy.

If redbird would have the sense to bring their price down just a fraction they woul obliterate honeycomb in short order.
Redbird is also a great option!
