I thank God for my mom, I'm 60 my dad died when I was 1 year and 11 months old. My mom always put us first, she would always make sure we ate, she would always say she had eaten when she hadn't just so that we would eat, it took us a while to realise that she was not eating to make sure that we had enough to eat, once we realised this we would leave food for her to eat. She always told us daily that God loves us and that she loves us. R.I.P mom❤️❤️❤️

The 1st story reminds me of something that happened in real life. A waitress saved a little boy after seeing his family feed everyone but him. They told the waitress the boy would eat at home, but she knew something was wrong. She wrote "do you need help?" on her order pad & placed it where only he could see. At first he was too scared to answer, but she persisted & he finally nodded yes, he needed help. The waitress called 911 while her coworkers at the restaurant helped stall them until the police arrived & saved the boy.
Are you sure you’re not talking about when a waitress saved a girl who was actually in a restaurant with a kidnapped? He’d already murdered her family & brother & still had her hostage, the exact same thing happened she wrote her a note asking if she needed help then called the police & held them up until police arrived. It was a massive case over the news & absolutely horrific

It was very long ago. The news story I think you are referring to was the one where it actually started with a guy outside the restaurant gave her a knowing nod and she nodded back. Then the waitress and other restaurant customers in combined effort made sure he wouldn't escape while the police arrived. The guy had also killed two other children in an earlier attack which he bragged about to the girl and her little brother when he thought they were too drugged to remember. Horrific story all round and the girl was exceptionally brave and smart. It was because of her actions he was caught. She manipulated him to go to her home town area hoping someone would recognise her. It worked.

And this wasn't spotted by looking through a window aka being a peeping tom, this mother brought her disposition into a public place for people to see. And it doesn't have to be conclusive before calling CPS, even though I can't think of another explanation for this mother besides her being abusive, just questionable.

I am a mother of two beautiful daughters and I can tell you right now i would most certainly step in to help a child even at the own risk of my life, there is nothing worse then a person who brings a child into this world that is supposed to love and protect but doesn’t and decides instead to abuse an innocent child. I am sorry I can't watch this. It brings back too many memories. By the grace of God, I survived living with mother and step dad, and siblings. My maternal grandparents raised me till I was 14 years old. Was born with a large cleft in my face that required many surgeries. I only lived with mother and step dad 5 years. It was pretty bad.

my brother invited us for a BBQ steaks on the grill hot dogs and burgers for the kid! instead of 4 steaks there were only 2 for him and his wife, it pisses me off when people are that greedy, i was tempted to toss the steaks to the dogs when they weren't looking.
The boy in the first story should have been given whatever he wanted to eat before he went to the police station ( maybe a waffle and some bacon with a hot chocolate? ), and the waitress should have been allowed to sit next to him and reassure him that he was going to be OK. She was more of a mother to him than his mother was! The manager or whoever he was, should have been more sympathetic, and when the waitress had her brief conversation with him, he should have said something like “You know what? I think you are on to something! Get the mother away from him, and we’ll get him whatever he’d like, and I’ll pick up the tab! Good intuition by the way!” Yes, I know that this is a story, but the acting was very good.

I don't have kids yet, but as a gentleman that volunteers time at the Children's Church, I would never like to see an innocent child starve while their parents eats like kings/queens.
Years ago I had a friend who married a guy I knew but not very well. She had a son who was 4 years old and I noticed some strange behavior from the boy. First I noticed that every time someone mentioned the stepdads name the boy would act like he was scared to death. Literally shaking. My friend told me it was because he was strict but assured me he never abused him, but I had my doubts. I asked the boy did he hit him, but he wouldn't answer me. I kept going by to check on him, but never saw any physical traces of abuse. Early, one morning I stopped by and heard the guy yelling at the boy, never went in, but peeked in window and saw them at table and guy over him being yelling and mentally abusing the boy. I already decided I was going to call DCS and have them investigate. Then the guy snatched the little boy out of the chair by his hair and was holding him up so I called the police right then and there. They ended up arresting him and my friend in. They took the boy to DCS. My friend was not charged but had been abused as well. She did get her child back after a year or so and after she was no t married to him anymore and she had to continue counseling. I however, don't understand why she could let him hurt her child, I would fight to the end.

Mine did. That is why I was raised by my maternal grandparents. Biological father abandoned us, mother was very angry. Though I never asked her. I believe she blamed it on me. I spent a lot of time in the hospital for corrective surgeries on my face. I was born with a large cleft. I step in, now that I am 66 years old to take up for those getting abused. Adult, child, puppy , kitten. All life is precious. Even if the world hates us, life is very precious indeed.
Same with me, my mom made sure we ate well, even if we were beyond struggling she made it work. Grateful for that, all the sacrifices my parents made for me.

I know this is just a skit. But the reality is, I WISH that most child abusers made it this obvious in public. The truth is that a lot of child abusers come across as decent people in public, its in private that the monster comes out. EVERYONE needs to pay attention when they're out. Sometimes the only clues you get are subtle. An impatient mother that drags their kid to the bathroom in public when the child is just being a normal child, a parent that orders steak for herself but orders just fries for the kid, a kid that is more withdrawn or has more bruises than most normal kids. Pay attention! I threw hints to everyone i knew as an abused child, some people i told straight out, but no one ever helped or called CPS for me. Ppl confronted my mom about her mistreatment (even though they were seeing the edited version of her behavior, it still was obvious I was being abused) but my mom would cut ties with them and that was that. No one called the authorities. Not even my family. Everyone knew. I would make up daydream fantasies in my head about running away to my aunts house. That hope was crushed when i told my aunt everything and she (along with the rest of my family) got angry with me because they accused me of lying. I was never a liar. In fact, it was a regular saying of my moms that "Candace dont lie about nothing" but they all thought my mom was such a nice woman. But she wasn't . She was a travel whoring, gold digger that was insanely greedy and insanely selfish. Throw PHONY, childish,jealous, mistrustful and ADD in a blender and you have my mother.

I sometimes wonder why we have to have a license to drive but not to have kids? Some people do not deserve the true blessing that kids are. My kids always ate before I did. They got new clothes before I did. They got everything before I did. I paid for dance class, bought dance shoes, even paid for special point ballet shoes to be made for my daughter because her feet got wide and none of the shoes would fit her so they had to measure her feet and have the made special for her in Russia. I paid for piano lessons, drum lessons and bought a drum set. All before I got anything for myself. I didn't mind going without. I actually love t-shirts with holes in them. They are comfy. I worked in a factory and worked hard for what we had. I would do anything for my kids even though they are now 35 and the other will be 31 in June. If your not going to take care of them, don't have them. They have birth control now.

Some moms loves theirs kids, and some don't loves theirs kids at all. Some kids are now living on the streets or homeless... Trying to make a living out there... Some kids are sleeping in Apt,or cardboard boxes to keep warm during winter... I feel sorry for the kids... They should have warm soft beds plenty of warm blankets too.

I have seen this type of behavior before. It is disturbing, because as a person working in customer service, you have no power to help. All you can do is report it. The parents order good food for themselves, and their other children, but one child is left out of the loop.
We've had a carpet shop for 36yrs.we get most of our trade from recommendations and repeat customers/friends now.i would tell this person to take her order elsewhere, which I've never done in our shop.

The boy in the first story should have been given whatever he wanted to eat before he went to the police station ( maybe a waffle and some bacon with a hot chocolate? ), and the waitress should have been allowed to sit next to him and reassure him that he was going to be OK. She was more of a mother to him than his mother was! The manager or whoever he was, should have been more sympathetic, and when the waitress had her brief conversation with him, he should have said something like “You know what? I think you are on to something! Get the mother away from him, and we’ll get him whatever he’d like, and I’ll pick up the tab! Good intuition by the way!”

Years ago I had a friend who married a guy I knew but not very well. She had a son who was 4 years old and I noticed some strange behavior from the boy. First I noticed that every time someone mentioned the stepdads name the boy would act like he was scared to death. Literally shaking. My friend told me it was because he was strict but assured me he never abused him, but I had my doubts. I asked the boy did he hit him, but he wouldn't answer me. I kept going by to check on him, but never saw any physical traces of abuse. Early, one morning I stopped by and heard the guy yelling at the boy, never went in, but peeked in window and saw them at table and guy over him being yelling and mentally abusing the boy. I already decided I was going to call DCS and have them investigate. Then the guy snatched the little boy out of the chair by his hair and was holding him up so I called the police right then and there. They ended up arresting him and my friend in. They took the boy to DCS. My friend was not charged but had been abused as well. She did get her child back after a year or so and after she was no t married to him anymore and she had to continue counseling. I however, don't understand why she could let him hurt her child, I would fight to the end.
This made me very sad. Although my mom loved me, I know what it's like to be guilted and blamed for things a child cannot control.

Mine did. That is why I was raised by my maternal grandparents. Biological father abandoned us, mother was very angry. Though I never asked her. I believe she blamed it on me. I spent a lot of time in the hospital for corrective surgeries on my face. I was born with a large cleft. I step in, now that I am 66 years old to take up for those getting abused. Adult, child, puppy , kitten. All life is precious. Even if the world hates us, life is very precious indeed.

I admit my mom wasn't perfect. But she never treated me like that. She always made sure we had some to eat.
Same with me, my mom made sure we ate well, even if we were beyond struggling she made it work. Grateful for that, all the sacrifices my parents made for me.

I know this is just a skit. But the reality is, I WISH that most child abusers made it this obvious in public. The truth is that a lot of child abusers come across as decent people in public, its in private that the monster comes out. EVERYONE needs to pay attention when they're out. Sometimes the only clues you get are subtle. An impatient mother that drags their kid to the bathroom in public when the child is just being a normal child, a parent that orders steak for herself but orders just fries for the kid, a kid that is more withdrawn or has more bruises than most normal kids. Pay attention! I threw hints to everyone i knew as an abused child, some people i told straight out, but no one ever helped or called CPS for me. Ppl confronted my mom about her mistreatment (even though they were seeing the edited version of her behavior, it still was obvious I was being abused) but my mom would cut ties with them and that was that. No one called the authorities. Not even my family. Everyone knew. I would make up daydream fantasies in my head about running away to my aunts house. That hope was crushed when i told my aunt everything and she (along with the rest of my family) got angry with me because they accused me of lying. I was never a liar. In fact, it was a regular saying of my moms that "Candace dont lie about nothing" but they all thought my mom was such a nice woman. But she wasn't . She was a travel whoring, gold digger that was insanely greedy and insanely selfish. Throw PHONY, childish,jealous, mistrustful and ADD in a blender and you have my mother.

I sometimes wonder why we have to have a license to drive but not to have kids? Some people do not deserve the true blessing that kids are. My kids always ate before I did. They got new clothes before I did. They got everything before I did. I paid for dance class, bought dance shoes, even paid for special point ballet shoes to be made for my daughter because her feet got wide and none of the shoes would fit her so they had to measure her feet and have the made special for her in Russia. I paid for piano lessons, drum lessons and bought a drum set. All before I got anything for myself. I didn't mind going without. I actually love t-shirts with holes in them. They are comfy. I worked in a factory and worked hard for what we had. I would do anything for my kids even though they are now 35 and the other will be 31 in June.
If your not going to take care of them, don't have them. They have birth control now.

Some moms loves theirs kids, and some don't loves theirs kids at all. Some kids are now living on the streets or homeless... Trying to make a living out there... Some kids are sleeping in Apt,or cardboard boxes to keep warm during winter... I feel sorry for the kids... They should have warm soft beds plenty of warm blankets too.
Mine never protected me at all...even though she's deceased my father was just as worse so was my other family members except my grandparents.
I love that the waitress doesn’t just work for the resturaunt , she also helps others who have nothing to eat and that have child neglect. It really teaches you a valuable lesson to help others even though people tell you to do thing differently.

Thank you for highlighting the many problems for children, I once saw a child screaming as he was being taken from a store in England, so I confronted the man, he said it was his child, I said ok, but I need proof, then his wife came out and proved, then she offered me money, as she said if I had not questioned, maybe her son could have been kidnapped. Sadly, his father said F---K that, she should not have interfered. But I am still glad I did. Just as an aside, if you see or believe a child is in danger, please do not hesitate to contact the POLICE!

That kid deserves a better home and parents, then that mother who treats him like he doesn’t eat , that lady should never ever treat him like that, he deserves better than her, she calls the waiter “Trailer Trash” when she pays her one dollar for food and drinks, but he didn’t get to eat anything, I was in a home for six months, they didn’t even treat me like family, my father didn’t even like her or the girls who lived there, so he pulled me out of that home.
