Great overview, thanks Maxwell. I'm using rust polars for data wrangling and using surrealdb for our in-house apps already - looking out for your async book

Thanks @cb-ql1gk! Great to hear you enjoyed the stream and that's awesome that you're using SurrealDB for your in-house apps too! If you'd like to be featured as a community speaker in one of our SurrealDB Streams this year, feel free to fill out this form: surrealdb.typeform.com/stream-showcase
You may have checked it out already, but here's the link to Maxwell's book too: www.oreilly.com/library/view/async-rust/9781098149086/ 🚀

when can we try a managed version? I don't want to deal with all the backup etc. I also want branches for my db like planetscale or neon has.

Hi there! The managed version is coming soon, but we aren’t ready yet to announce when. For branching, this is a feature we are actively considering. Thank you for showing interest in those features!

is there a surrealDB framework? you know with auth, upload, realtime, roles and permissions, firewall, caching and all that?
because others already have that 'edge'.

yes, we have roles, permissions, authentication, etc. We also run in the browser, embedded, on a node, and in the cloud. We also support schemaful, schemaless, time series data, graph, and full-text search, we can have objects as IDs, and we're building out our own key-value store. This is the reason why we're the fastest-growing database.

Rocket "1,02,441" - "millions". Thats a very bad typo. Lost me there.
