Hello again Zak THANK YOU for your response Last Christmas my niece bought me an IWATA AIR BRUSH AND COMPRESSOR KIT FROM HOBBY LOBBY THEY ARE RELLY GOOD airbrushes 4 sure glad to see you are enjoying the hobby but what's more important you are attracting new people to the hobby and that's a win win the more we encourage people to get more involved in the hobby the hobby will continue to GROW SALUTE FRIEND ZAK ;-)
Enjoy your vids and the fact you don't go to extremes with realism and keep it more toy. I do like the upper level side rail material used and can't find it so appreciate any input where you bought it.
A really great weathering job, Zach. I think you're right about the tarp colour making a difference, so I think you made the best of it. It's quite a challenge. You've made a great start.
To quote DJ Khalid “Anotha☝️” Very happy with how the NW came out, and the bulkhead also came out pretty damn good for the first attempt! Looking forward to getting started on the next project 👍
Beautiful job. The black tarp is very prototypical for railroads. It's a very heavy, heavy tarp. They suck when you have to manhandle one of those by yourself. 😂 we even use them in the trucking industry. Just a smaller version. Again Beautiful job on the weathering. Looks great, keep the awesome content.
I think you’re doing a great job, Zach! We all learn by trial & error, that’s the nature of the beast, LOL BTW, thank for running your C&NW, I grew up a block from that railroad as have always loved the paint scheme they used, I truly miss that RR but now UP has it, good for them, I guess 😂 At least they’re still used the tracks, unlike the Chicago Aurora & Elgin Electric line that ran about a couple of hundred feet from them and closed down but at least we got a great bike trail out of that old line. Ron
That flat wet look would pair well with the thunderstorm. Maybe make the scenery look wet from the storm. Puddles on the road... neat idea for a different look.
Not too bad for your first attempt at weathering, may I suggest getting some acrylic paints in the appropriate colors and try some dry brushing it's just another layer of weathering 👍👍
Hey Zack, you really got my attention when I saw that SP bulkhead flat, lol I collect and model all SP and SSW(cotton belt) and I didn't even see that Beth did another SP car, I got her MTH Bay window in SP she did and love that. I must get that flat though. Any way, ya using any enamel paint is going to eventually give a sheen more on the gloss side. Zack, try Tamiya TS-80 flat clear, its the Best . You wont be disappointed.
Thank you! Always glad to help someone find something they might not have known about! It really is a cool car! Believe the weathering really adds to it though. I think she still has a few in stock?
ZAK SALUTE MY FRIEND NICE WEATHERING JOB ON THAT BULK HEAD FLATCAR KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK I WOULD INVEST IN A AIR BRUSH KIT FROM HOBBY LOBBY OR HARBOR FRIEGHT THEIR AIRBRUSH KIT WITH THE AIR COMPRESSOR IS PRETTY GOOD IMHO GOD BLESS ENJOY ;-)
Thank you Carl! I do have a harbor freight air brush I used to restore and old postwar engine. But I always seem to gravitate towards the washes/powders. Need to dig it back out and give it a whirl again for sure!
I haven't been brave enough to try weathering yet. I have only tried graffiti decals, as they are simple and make a big change in appearance. Perhaps someday, I'll take one of my least favorite rolling stock items (is there such a thing?) and try to weather it. 😎👍
Nice... its to bad it didn't come with a wood deck (you'd think) : ) The guy with the loads he always takes 2 weeks before you get your stuff, he's just slow prolly one of those I only go to the Post Office once a week.
Thanks! Yea, I don’t mind waiting on the stuff to show up. Just wish I got what was requested after waiting so long. I inquired 2-3 times about it too. Oh well… seems he removed the tarp loads from his eBay store. Maybe he doesn’t wanna do them anymore?
It turned out real nice, Zach. Hopefully the haters keep quiet. For some reason, the 3-rail crowd doesn't have the affection for weathering (and especially graffitti) that I experienced in the N and HO communities. Cheers! And sell me that DRG SD45!!! lol
hello zack it's is randy i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy and i am enjoy yours video is cool thanks country bunker's trains thanks friends randy

You’ll be the first to see it for sure!! Thank you!
The weathering turned out great. I also have been thinking about doing just a consist of weathered cars. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! Yea, the weathered cars really add a lot I think. Bings a different more realistic view to the layouts!
Looks good Zach, get on to the next one
Very well done Zach! My dads not a big weathering phonetic. But that doesn’t mean that I’m not, I love all pieces of weathered rolling stock.
Thank you! For sure seems to be hit or miss with folks on the weathering. But it does look good I believe
The rivet counters should approve... lol - nice work!
Came out great Zach, the wheels had a perfect rust look. It's not as easy as it looks.
Thanks Joey! For sure! Not near as easy as it looks!

That is good to hear the tracks are still in use at least…
Looks good!
Thank you!!
Awesome video 😊

I honestly didn’t even think about that, but you are 100% correct!! Does pair well with the storm cloud!! Thank you!
Looks fricken cool 4 your first try it will be even better with practice but looks awesome I think
The hobo union has watched, and approved of the video, and will be setting up a hobo camp, on this layout.😊😊😊
Thank you! That hobo camp needs to get here some day!!
You picked the right car.
Not too bad for your first attempt at weathering, may I suggest getting some acrylic paints in the appropriate colors and try some dry brushing it's just another layer of weathering 👍👍
Do need to give the dry brushing a go for sure! Will have to try it out in the next one. Thank you!

I have two questions.1. What roads do you use. 2. Do you plan on connecting the two layouts.
Schöne Grüße aus Deutschland elsflet. Schön Dich zu sehen. Danke für dein schönes Video danke

Thank you! I notice that too! A lot of o gauger’s seem to frown on the weathering a bit. I really enjoy it though!
Awesome cars Zach? Think you’ll get any RMT stuff?
