I believed it was that way because of the emphasis on "world" in Disneyworld. They had planned a Persian hotel, an Asian hotel, Venetian and Mediterranean. Polynesian fit in there, but I like how they went with the hotels reflecting on the different lands since you can clearly see the Contemporary from Tomorrowland.

I guess when the shades of green used to be the “Disney Inn”, that was the FantasyLand themed resort, since it was designed to appear like a cottage. Which it still kinda does today, despite the military owning it

My favorite resort out of the ones you mentioned is Fort Wilderness. I like the rustic, camping feel and my family stayed at one of the cabins there for our Disney World trip. And I had gotten to pick out the resort to stay at, so that was cool.

I was a kid when I went to Disney in the seventies. I remember also the green shag carpet from the Contemporary hotel. Going to epcot it's first year was amazing as well.epcot
I knew about the money going to charity. My brother's teacher took him and me to Disney World the first year it was open. So we used the tickets and I was glad when they started using passes. I would purchase annual pass every 2 years before becoming disabled. I can no longer afford a pass or have way to get their. So I get to enjoy Disney World through your videos, thanks.
I read books about Walt Disney and the parks often and listen to Disney podcasts all the time. Still, there were secrets in here that I didn’t know about!
Studios had a “Back lot Tour” with Walt’s personal plane. The studios icon has changed a few times in less than 3 decades. I loved the Hat and wish it was still the Hat.
i remember 1974 when i was stationed in Jacksonville. we didn't need ticket books because active military could get all day, all rides unlimited. i believe it was 20 or 25 dollars. being in the navy 20,000 leagues and haunted mansion and Mr. toads wild ride were our favorite. we stayed in the contemporary hotel which was my favorite hotel.
Phil’s portrait was probably the biggest eye-popping moment for me. What a fitting tribute!
My mom remembers trying to find other families to trade tickets with that had younger children so they could ride more E ticket rides!
