There exist a few stars in B3313 that are impossible to collect. In this video, I showcase these stars and why they are impossible to collect.

Of the three stars shown in the video, only one would even increase the star count, that being the first one shown. I've moved the eel jumpscare star to see if it's real and it's actually not. It and the one in the hall that can be grabbed don't have valid ID's if I understand it correctly, resulting in them always showing as uncollected and not adding to the star counter. Unsurprisingly, a few hacks sometimes like to use those fake stars as obstacles because all of the other ways to die or have to restart weren't annoying enough I guess.

The star isn’t counted because it’s something called a troll star. In vanilla sm64 you can only have 7 star ids per level (8 is easily possible with minor adjustments), so if you give a star a value above that, the game doesn’t grab any valid save data but still treats it like a normal star without adding to your total

I know that in the 0.4 version at least there is a bowser area you can go into a door then break a box to get a star but you actually get a key

Would the one on top of the Delicious Cake count as "impossible", too? I don't think it's an actual star object, though, just a sprite.

If I remember correctly, the star is in fact not a real star and just a sprite as people have attempted to go up and touch the star and it does nothing.

The reason why you cant collect the star in the Dark Hallway is because the star at the end of the hallway as a star ID of 7, instead of 0 through 6 like its supposed to be.

What about the one in the Lethal Lava Land -like level that goes away, restructures the level, and turns the background blue when you get close?

While it is technically impossible to collect that specific star, it shares its star ID with the star at the very top of the level before getting to the Bowser fight (bright version, not dark version). Because of this, it is technically a star that can be collected but through another star. The same is true for all of the stars that go out of bounds like the eel and manta ray stars in Unagi's Tunnel, all of them share their star IDs with another star so it technically makes them collectable. if getting the star in parkour playground by skipping over the loading zone works, then it might be possible to get it using the water at the bottom. i dont know how much speed you can actually get in the water, because its entirely covered in slopes.
