It has been written that Silent Rage rented a chord progression riff from the KISS song Prisoner of Love, that's untrue! I wrote and recorded the chorus guitar riff to Rebel With A Cause in 1986 for our debut album Shattered Hearts released in 1987. Gene contacted us in September 1987 Due to hearing our debut album and was interested in working with us. The KISS song Prisoner of Love did not come out until 1989 on Hot in the Shade. Silent Rage re-recorded a new version of Rebel With A Cause for our 2nd album Don't Touch Me There on Simmons/RCA released in 1989. The riff is similar and a coincidence at best. My Rebel With A Cause chord progression is E, B, Fs, A. Prisoner Of Love chord progression is Fs, A, E, B, and both vocal chorus melody lines are worlds apart!
Jesse, Gene only contacted you to rip off your riffs most likely. You are talking about the same guy who had the shittiest vault or whatever that was released and used Vinnie Vincent blatantly to sell it and then tears him four new assholes on ever interview since. Fuck Gene Simmons and I am the biggest kiss fan . That's saying something. Gene is the most embarrassing part of Kiss history.
Such a flashback. Thanks for always creating such a visually appealing "environment" back in the old "Raintree" days in Torrance during summer of '87. It remains some of my best all time memories. You guys were all really genuine people to talk to. Take care Jesse.
i saw this video like 1 month ago....then like 2 days ago i found a vhs tape that my dad recorded in 89/90 and this video came out and i was like...wow...when mTV played all sorts of videos and well ACTUALLY played them. :)
Excellent tune!!!! I still rock out to the cassette from '89!! Singer Jesse Damon still makes music, was just listening to his songs "Black Widow" and "Save Me" from his 2013 release "Temptation in the Garden of Eve". Some great music, with that traditional melodic rock vibe that I like!!!!
Love the "Don´t touch me there"-album. Hard to believe, Mr. `Money-is-all-I-need` discovered them and even produced some of the songs. But it seems Gene had a good had at that time. House of Lords, Silent Rage ...
This kind of music makes me feel young again anybody that listens to it will be transported back to that Great era everything is a rip-off but it's also a form of flattery whatever it takes these guys need to do it again too loud you're too old
damn guys. I still love that song and you all look great. I believe it was just after you filmed this video that I interviewed you and broke you in Vegas and Nevada. Good Time sirs, Good times! Please never stop.
dude steel panther are like the saviours of metal, they keep it alive and kicking ass in a fashion i cant even describe xD then after taylor its miley cyrus and anyone who has won the x-factor.....metal will rise again

Never heard of these guys -no idea how they never made it big (same goes for Tyketto and Baton Rouge to name a couple). Thanks for giving me my 80s fix - yet more proof of how metal 89-93 was the best: catchy as any pop song but heavy as well. I know we all like different stuff but seriously, I ask you, how can anyone not like this? Great image, bands that can actually play, melody *and* attitude, heaviness but also foot-tapping catchy. I just don't get it. It's just further proof of why I wish it was permanently 1992. I'm going to listen to this then watch a bunch of late 80s films - all with kickass heavy metal songs over the closing credits.
+Kathryn Love i've said this before. there were bands that came in 89-93 (like Warrant) that were the most talented ones the genre had seen, but they were overshadowed by the grunge movement
Back then I always thought in 90' I almost thought that the singer for nelson Was there singer Because they kind of look similar And Looks like David Coverdale And sounds like David Coverdale on 87 and 89! 👍
I remeber this song! I used to really love it when I was like 15, Still very catchy. There is just something too over produced about though now that I listen to it. This would have been a great song for some chessy 80's sports movie staring someone from the brat pack. I know this sounds like I don't like it but, I actually really do. Just don't tell anyone!
Hair Metal was starting to die when that scene was coming around. Everyone looked and sounded the same. I still listen to Silent Rage today, but like all great bands, the cream rose to the top and the others faded away.
I'm with you, never heard of these guys and finding a few others I never heard of which dont make sense cause I used to watch headbangers ball religously
Man, I've searched high and low for this video!!!!!! I've tried looking here several times - and then this dull tuesday evening, there it is!!! How perfect is that?!! I love this song - I also heard it the first time on Hard&Heavy and couldn't find it anywhere. Yeah too bad they didn't get further - however I believe they've made a couple of albums and a have a new album about to be released. Silent Rage ROCKS!!!
Maybe this never went anywhere because the Label, RCA, never promoted it. It appears to me that all the other elements were in place, but what do I know, I'm just a drummer! ;-)
I actually seriously don't get how this wasn't a huge hit. Dudes with a good look, excellent stage presence, and the song itself is a perfect balance of catchiness and heaviness. And these guys had Gene Simmons backing them for Christ's sakes! I wonder how it all fell down the drain.
GrantH I hear no heaviness at all. Sickly sweet chorus and just too formulatic and poppy sounding with no edge. This was 3rd string band at best with a formulatic sound. One word....BORING. Maybe Gene Simmons was the reason they failed. He was involved with Black n" Blue and Keel and they both went nowhere. At least KeeL kicked some serious ass 75% of the time.
Heaviness isn't just about guitar tone. It's the overall attitudee. Slayer is heavy. Crowbar is heavy. Behemoth is heavy. This is third rate cheesy pop rock intended to sell more Aqua Net and attract the girls.
i was speaking to gene simmons the other day and he was talking about this band and how they pretty much owe everything to him. he says that this is the best band he has ever signed music wise and it dissapoints him deeply that they never made it as big as he thought. that's actually what the topic was, regrets. i had never heard of these guys prior to me and gene's conversation, and i'm just not that impressed. this is the first song i've listened to by them, so i can't really judge them just yet. but they aren't bad but the way he talked about this band made it seem like a zeppelin that never took off.
+Dude Thanks for the story, Gene did give the band a lot of opportunities, including asking me to write with him for KISS, as well as record with them and sing on a KISS albums and Demos... Hope you took the time to listen to some more of our music! Thanks... JD
@TheTruthfulAsshole I got the CD a long time ago.... someone posted "Cant' Get Her Out of my Head" on Facebook so I pulled out the CD. Forgot how good it was!!!!
I dont care if ppl think this is cheesy, its still awesome rock. There might be a lot of bands who used this formula..but DAMN this shit is way better then 99% of the crap pop the masses listen to today. At least this was trued music made by human being not some damn computer BS.

Jesse Damon what bands did silent rage tour with??
This was better than anything KISS had written in years.
@@Clarence2Worley Silent Rage in the 80's was better than Kiss 80's.
Jesse, Gene only contacted you to rip off your riffs most likely. REBELDE COM UMA CAUSA
É a chance de uma vida
Para alcançar meus sonhos mais loucos
Quando o coração governa a mente
Só os fortes sobrevivem
Sem promessas, ninguém para culpar
Não há garantia
Sozinho, eu estou indo até o fim
Eu sou um rebelde com uma causa
Se eu não ganhar, sentirei a perda
Desgosto total versus vitória
Vou desafiar a ser livre
Uma viagem pela América
Foi uma batalha de rivalidade
A voz ouvida em todo o mundo
Viveu para contar minha história
Os heróis desconhecidos vivem
Lutando por você
Não me esqueça quando eu me for
Eu sou um rebelde com uma causa
Se eu não ganhar, sentirei a perda
Desgosto total versus vitória
Vou desafiar a ser livre
Eu sou um rebelde com uma causa
Se eu não ganhar, sentirei a perda
Desgosto total versus vitória
Vou desafiar a ser livre
Eu sou um rebelde com uma causa
Eu sou um rebelde com uma causa
Eu sou um rebelde com uma causa

Pretty good CD. I got it in 2014 as I happened upon them. Rare hair metal band without a high voice as lead singer.
Year when music is fun.

You're right guys!! These guys rock!! I had no idea that FABIO
There is nothing more metal than the drummer doing a stick twirl in the video...\m/
First time hearing them. Id read about them in Metal Edge way back when. Had I seen this video I wouldve bought the tape. Sounds good.

Anybody happen to know who the really long-haired blonde on the bike is? I'd almost bet she's the same one that's in "Love Cries" from Stage Dolls.
