      Regrettably, I don’t have many generations of Vermont in me. All my grandparents came from out of state, but they raised my parents in Vermont, so would that make me 2nd or 3rd gen?

    Yes this is 100% correct. Also fun fact: Vermont won that case against McDonald’s because we have a law that requires all products advertised as ‘Maple’ to be used with real maple syrup 😂

    I am surprised Vemont didn't tell Florida that the Green Mountain State has some of the loosest gun laws in the country. Wait FL would just ask for homicides, VT would say they have none and FL would ask "How do you make guns Boring?"

      I was coming to comment that lol. Though our homicide rate is very low, sucide rates are pretty high. The lack of sunshine or human contact for 9 months a year might have something to do with that. Plus 6 month waitlists for psychiatrists

      @@123penrose 20th highest suicide rate in the country. per capita. Our homicide rate is so low though that our gun violence stats are some of the lowest in the country, even though we have more guns than people.

      "Vermont" is actually just an abbreviated form of Veridias Montis, the original name of the state.

      Also "montagne verte" is green mountain in French, so I also attributed it to something like that, considering our proximity to Quebec. LOL

    As someone who is from Vermont this was great. I go to school near rutland and I was very surprised that Rut Vagas would be mentioned. When I think of what others think of Vermont, I was definitely thinking Ben and jerry's Icecream, Bernie Sander. But even without them great. Going off on flatlanders, leaf peepers is another term we use when tourist some to Vermont to see the leaves when they are changing color. But the whole we don't say our t's is 100% accurate. Thank you for the representation.

    I am from Vermont and in my freshman year of high school we literally had two weeks talking about how maple syrup works and how whether affects it. In the end we had real maple syrup to take “shots” of and we’re told that pickles and maple syrup was an excellent combination.

      There are two major problems with being Nekkid outside in Vermont. Half the year, it is (well) below 50 degrees F. And the other half has black flies and skeeters.

      New Hampshire would get in on that, too. We love our maple syrup here! We have sugar shack restuarants where you can go and learn how to make maple syrup and then have pancakes with fresh syrup on time. Not to mention maple syrup hard candies, maple surgar candy, maple cotton candy, maple ice cream - one of our local county fairs in the fall even has maple milk!

    When I lived in NY, I got close to Vermonters and they are very nice and very into syrup. And now I truly hate fake syrup and have to spend the extra $$$ for the real deal. I might also order maple candy sometimes. You ruined me Vermont 😆

      I'm from Vermont, my brother is from New Hampshire (his mom is my stepmom) and he now lives in VT with us. But trust me, the majority of my family makes fun of New Hampshire for looking like an upside down Vermont and my brother would always say that Vermont is upside down New Hampshire, so uhhhh...

    There's a billboard here in Bradenton with a man knelt down with his head in his hands and it just says SURRENDER TO JESUS. The one before it had a close-up of beautiful baby's face and it said "I Had Eyes". Florida billboards are somethin else

    I’m from Vermont and my driveway is currently mud and when it’s breakfast for lunch at school some kids bring jars of maple syrup with them so they don’t use the schools fake stuff. One time our teacher made sugaring a part of class and we spent the hole block talking about it.

      I lived on Vermont 37 yrs 4 generations.
      I am now in Maine, but love and miss the green mountains.
      I am one of the lucky ones who saw Champ, great description of him.

    Loved this! As a Native Vermonter and UVM grad thought the video was quite funny. At UVM we have a naked bike ride tradition that happens every semester on the last day of classes!

    Fun fact: Springfield VT, if I remember correctly, was awarded to be the Springfield of the Simpsons. They held a video contest to help promote the Simpsons movie, and VT won! a huge 10-12 foot statue of Homer's hand holding a doughnut, was placed outside springfeilds cinema and stood there for years. I'm not sure where that statue is now, or what happened to it. :')

      @@osmosis_ South of the Border is a theme park on the NC/SC border. There are signs on I-95 advertising how far you are from it. Was very popular in the 70’s, but the billboards are still up.

    All I’m saying is that Florida has seasons.. Snow bird season, string ray season, hurricane season, satans armpit season, and about 2 or 3 weeks of winter (just not in a row)

      Yeah, this is what most people forget about Florida. We do get 2-3 weeks worth of winter, just not all at once. The seasons I usually remember are Hurricane, Snowbird, Summer, Too damn Hot, and Lovebug (though that hasn't been a big deal in a while). I am curious what you mean by Sting Ray season though.

    If you ever want an actual Vermonter to come be Vermont...I'll do it...I was born and raised...also, I always wondered why we never had billboards...also, I live in Rutland County, so like- Rut Vegas is literally where I do most of my shopping. And maple syrup is literally something every Vermont has. Especially the REAL stuff. My friend from Florida has never had REAL maple syrup and I'm honestly so disappointed...anyway, what was the point of this comment again..? Oh yeah, just read the first line again-

      Well we used to have a mall, but then it turned into a hockey rink, with an old navy and a bar as the only two other store fronts- pretty sure its JUST a hockey rink now. But there are a few chain stores like Dicks, Petco, and a teeny tiny TJMaxx? The only real place to shop is Walmart, but its the heart of "Rutvegas" so lock your doors and don't go there at night!! (To be fair, I haven't lived in VT in over 10 years, but my family still does so this is all stuff I experience whenever I come up to visit). But I feel like Ben really nailed this! I was so proud of the dropped T's, the "real maple syrup", and the "mud season" comments - good job on the research!!!

Diamond Run lasted for maybe 10 years before all the stores started leaving and it became absolutely dead? I feel like Walmart is more Rutland's speed - Ben made a comment further down about Rutland having a "people of Walmart" feel, and that just feels so accurate 😂

    A fellow Vermont friend sent me the clip mentioning Rutvegas and I died! I thought only us locals referred to it as such 😆 PS, if you can't tell the difference, you really are a dummy lol. PPS, I've been in Florida for over 20 years and the billboards are straight up shenanigans. I've seen that 18 day heartbeat one for sure!

    Even though I disagree with some of Ben's politics sometimes he's still one of the funniest comedians on TH-cam...scratch that ANYWHERE. The writing, regardless of one's political persuasion, is priceless. My favorite states are Florida (obviously), Louisiana, Texas, and New York. I'm from Maryland myself and we're every bit as bland and unobtrusive (as opposed to boring and dull) as Ben portrays. Ben you are meant for greater things with the whole table of states thing. I'd support, seriously, financially support a crowd funded movie or even TV show regardless of his politics so long as it wasn't too preachy or Heaven forfend...WOKE. Lad you're onto something great, run with it.
