    Hey gang.. So I heard my system regenerating while I just happened to be using the faucet at the sink when the water pressure suddenly went to nothing.
    I ran out to the garage to try to stop the regen cycle.. I heard a clank sound, and it stopped regenerating before I could do anything.
    I thought to myself, well, now my softener is damaged. Holy Toledo. I waited for the water to come back on before I manually started a regenerating cycle. It did start, but I swear it didn't seem to run very long. Usually, when it self starts, it runs for a while.
    I did some research on Google. Some say all of this can damage the unit, while others say it's common, and these newer units simply shut down with no damage. That clank I heard has me worried, so here I am.

      Power surge messed up my Culligan Water Softener.
      They sent out a technician.
      He was here for less than five minutes.
      Shrugged and said he has no idea how they work, he just installs them
      Charged me $167 for nothing done.
      Supervisor said the guy was their expert.

    How do I know when it’s generating and how often he’s going to in our household I need to learn how to look and set the generation if needed

    We have tried repeatedly to get a Culligan service person here to take care of our system. The office told us that they have no staff and it may be at least 10 days - 2 weeks before we hear from someone. That time has passed and still no call back and, therefore, no service. Definitely not what we expected when we bought our system to replace one that was 30 years old.

      They told me it would be a month before they could get out. I said I’ll have to get a third party to do maintenance and the guy said that’s a good idea there’s nothing he can do

    Do u put bleach into the salt reservoir. That’s what I was said by the local Culligan people to get rid of the black salt water at bottom ??

      @chdudeeh ปีที่แล้ว

      If you suspect a bacterial fouling of the media( the resin bed of the softener) then yes 1 cup of bleach into the brine tank is acceptable. Do not do that to often though as high chlorine is hard on the resin bed of the softener.

    Always late to get salt but never late to charge my card . Don’t feel any difference from before glass still gets soapy skin and hair no change . Any who here’s the million dollar question. I installed a biget and notice my bum has a diaper rash more likely then not . Does the salt water go through the bidet irritating my bum 🍑???????

      As long as the cycles are operating properly and programmed correctly there is minimal salt residue in any water passing through a softener. It is most likely something else. Are you on well water or municipal? well water could possibly be a bacterial issue.

    What a nonsensical video!! I need to know how much salt to add. This video skips over that and jumps into the hard sell for their expensive salt delivery service. What a waste of my time!!

      My system required 4 bags the guy brought to the door in the video I think they were 40 pound bags, he said to fill the tank up to just below the water line to prevent it from getting clogged. Only use solar crystal salt other salt beads will leave a residue at the bottom.

    • @mr.cleanone3900
      @mr.cleanone3900 ปีที่แล้ว

      They just show up two weeks after salt is gone and refill it . I don’t know how much they put . Think 4 40 pound bags

    • @chdudeeh

      There is a salt plate on the bottom of the brine tank that you never want to see. As far as how much salt really depends on what kind of salt you are using. When using Culligan brand or any other raw rock salt add 6 to 8 at a time. Any more is just overkill. When using other brands of salt add 2 to 3 at a time. They use chemicals which can cause bridging of your salt.

      Perhaps watch the video. At 1:30 they explain how simple it really is

    • @edg2773
      @edg2773 ปีที่แล้ว

      @oncebitten1967, At 1:30 they say look inside. If you see salt, it's probably fine. If you see water, it's time to add salt. THEY SAY WHEN TO ADD SALT. THEY DO NOT SAY HOW MUCH SALT TO ADD. Why did you waste my time with your inappropriate answer?

    I purchased the house and the old owners had a yearly system maintenance to sell the house. That winter the water intermittently stopped and came back on with a gust of air. did my due diligence online but couldn't solve the issue myself. Called Culligan and the service guy went through the same things I found online and didn't solve the issue. The guy came by ($100.00 response and $50.00 cleaning of the Tube going into the Iron reducer tank. The tube inlets were covered in iron blocking the water pickup tube.
    He didn't clean that tube when he responded to do the maintenance the sellers paid for.

    The Culligan service guy didn't do the prescribed annual service on my system. Culligan sucks and the service guy is lazy.
