Just stumbled upon your channel! My father has a 1993 Saleen red convertible supercharged with 6k miles Never could find any info on production numbers or videos on them glad I saw your channel!
@@PuristMotorsports it was from the dealer but he still has all original paperwork from Saleen and even the jacket! Lol I’m sure PAS would love to see it
Documentation is key. That adds tons of value and if your Dad is the original owner he’s got a gem of a car. Lots of people clamoring for fox Saleen’s right now.
@@PuristMotorsports yes he bought it brand new in 93 still with only 6k miles on it currently and All original documentation, any idea what a car like that would bring in today’s market or what production numbers were? It’s numbered 42 on the front bumper.
That’s what Saleen advertised the output as. You’re not alone in your questioning. I’ve driven a couple of the 90 and 91 SC’s and they are high rpm breathing motors. Very peak power with not much torque off idle. Which makes sense because Ford changed the cam in the 93 cobra for that very reason. The stock 5.0 cam got soft in torque when it was paired with the GT40 heads/intake and 1.7 rockers.
Had to laugh about the trophy story Bob -- the same thing happened with the Corolla when I picked it up. It was a trophy winning machine when first built in the 2010 time frame and the P.O. wanted me to have them - 20? 30? A bunch. John had a HUGE trailer so we took them. But most of them might have found their way into a building construction dumpster next to the hotel we stayed in that first night after pickup in Corsicana, TX. There was also a Tesla charging station beside the restaurant we had dinner at -- so we took one huge trophy (6' tall) and set it on top of the Tesla charging station. Laughing all evening about what the next Tesla charging customer must've thought....

SALEEN WAS the Carroll Shelby of the era. At least that's the way I view these cars and their creator.
