Вот это на самом деле действительно интересная тема, так как можно делать динамики любого размера! 👍 Думаю, можно использовать нейлон из дамских колготок, и варьировать смесь для подходящей упругости и эластичности. Понравилась идея формы 💥
I have made them with the circle hoop rings for sowing that are used to clamp down fabric in place. At first i used it without modifying them then I recently started to put a rubber hose around the smaller hoop to the desired size of the surround gap . The big hoop goes on the outside and the smaller hoop with rubber hose i use to form the surround goes on the bottom. Then for 6in surrounds i use a a heavy circular object like a fire extinguisher and place it ontop of the foam sheet (or whatever material) in the center to press down and actually make the formation . Useing a protective sheet between the extinguisher and work material helps prevent damage and keep it clean . I have tried to make surrounds for my 12 in speakers but have failed due to me not useing a rubber hose around the smaller hoop to make a good impression in the material and also not having a sheet of foam big enough.. i have 2 15” subs that i havnt tried but will probably order surrounds … I have also tried to make what you made with a little success but i had to use a metal compass with sharp edges to carve out the mould by repeatedly making a scratch around and around till i was satisfied with the depth then i used a dremel and sand paper along with a chisel yo smooth it out .. i didnt make a male mould like you did i just used a metal hose to press down which didnt work how i wanted because it didnt make the edges where the glue would go on flat , i had to flatten them after making the mould which wasnt the best option.. but it worked 50/50 since it didnt give me the best surround how i wanted . .. i will try again to make this type of mould since i have borrowed a router but its a sheet rock router and will have to make a jig like you .. Thank you I actually been lookin for a video on how to make it since i seen another video of a guy useing one but not showing us how he made it
I was given two 10" subwoofers but I'm into low output single ended valve amps and these things are so stiff. I was about to throw them out when I saw this video, I might take the horribly stiff rubber suspension off them and make them into much freer and sensitive drivers. If they get destroyed, it doesn't matter! :D
Fabric Type? Polyester? Silk? Nylon? What was the white creamy stuff that you diluted and dipped the fabric in? Is that Silicone you applied to the concave side of the surround? Did you know you can smooth Silicone by dipping your finger in water and then smoothing and the Silicone won't stick to your finger AND you'll get a perfectly smooth finish!!! Was the white glue that you used a PVC glue? Great job shimming the voice coil!!! The routed press form you made was genius!!! I do a bit of 3D design an printing and have thought about how a surround designed and printed with TPU (flexible filament) material might perform. Another desirable material that I really like for surrounds is butyl rubber, which if you used a liquid consistency, could paint multiple layers onto the routed form to build up the thickness you need. All very interesting!!!
any fabric can work, because ultimately the diluted white wood glue will give it the shape in the mold. and the high quality tec7 silicone will give it the final shape. Thank you for your comment. It took me 2 months to find this solution, and I am very satisfied with the result!!! believe me it sounds very much better than a Chinese suspension 😉😉😉
Good job... I have similar Speakers KEVLAR (?!) made by Samsung for Thomson midi music center, mid and bass speakers suspensions rotten and cracking up like a dried leaf...
maybe next video is make tutorial about male voice coil, because your speaker have potential to me high xmax... (piston range) with strong magnet and big power it could over stroke the speaker...

Okay now I need to make one for a Rockford T3-19.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍
Excelente, no tiene vídeo para hacer como?
Maybe on the future 😁😁😁

Try to find some repair kit or use damaged driver diaphragm to get suspension.
Cool
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Can you make tutorials for iem crossover
excelente
