Car hauler trailers are nice. I'd make a collapsable shade structure you can mount on it to have a place to sit and relax while at car shows/swap meets and other places you would take a trailer. Possibilities.....

I always ended up working on my friends trailer too. Pack the new wheel bearing replace boards and paint. I wish my friend was still alive to borrow his trailer.
Trailer got that typical Canadian salty bubbly rust on it. It really needs to be stripped in the Summer, derusted and sandblasted with 3 to 4 coats of Primer and 2 solid top coats of paint. If not will keep rusting. I'm in Southern Ontario about 100 km or 62 miles south of Toronto, Ontario. Any good or high performance car or truck. Is safely storaged alway for the Winter. Can't have anything decent unless it stored from Nov. 1 to Mid April. They just plaster the roads with salt and sand. Rusts any good vehicle. Got to the point for my Winter Beater I spray two five gallon containers of 80/90 gear oil on Mid September every where on the car. With the Trailer, needs to be stripped of wood, sandblasted, to remove the paint and rust. Then go to Home Hardware and get 4 litre containers of muriatic acid. Paint this on to get to the rust in the pores where sand can't get. It will dissolve the rust and flush with water. (Do small areas you can handle) then sand blast it again because once you wash the acid off with water it flash rusts. So you will sand blast the flash rust off then Prime. Now you got the most absolute clean rust free surface there is. Four coats of Primer, two wet coats of paint. Then clear Gloss if you want. This will last a long time.
Fixing up a trailer is cool. I did some paint and pinstripe work for a buddy of mine, so now he lets me use it whenever I need it, good trade off!........ You should put one of your DD stickers on it! 😎♤

I'm changing out the wood floor on my car 18' hauler as we speak , wood rotted out , wire brushing the frame and hand brushing the POR15 on , gonna use 1/8" diamond deck plating , prob have to use the tractor to bend the 2' dove tail section on mine , Havnt been without one since 1985 , their handy .
Good job, I put the split conduit on the trailer wires as soon as my trailer got to the shop. Trailer manufactures do not do a good job of protecting the wiring.
I've noticed that on even their Marine / boat trailers, also. Also very cheap paint work. Watch it while grinding and sanding once it starts flaking and rusting. May be lead paint.
Great project while considering loading up a giveaway 57, that May be heavier that trailer own or would borrow to do so is rated for. I'm dragging a long distance, and as crossing US states, AND. Canadian border(s), to pick it up, I want to know the posting rules up front. Sure brakes (swept area) is at rating spec at least, and tires right for load expected. Bearing savers, an extended pocket cap for extra grease capacity on brake hubs helps keep bearings and spindles cool. Also lights, reflective tape, and maybe tag required. Border fees.
I always use bearing buddy's and salt water wheel bearing grease on all my trailers, by the look of it your trailer see a bit of salt, it's a low maintenance fix besides the last thing to get attention is the trailer usually. Good luck keep up the videos. Ron the home of the 427 cheetah beaumonts.

I'm in the process of doing my Rav4 CVs ball joints and changing the front disc, when it was my sister car the place she got work done replaced the pads but not the disc and they are stuffed, already done the back drums shoes just need to adjust them so be good to drive after that 😀👍🏾
You should be proud of your work Dan. I see a lot of quality in it and too bad he didn't have the trailer lights plugged in. I know I would be elated to not have to work on stuff like that without a garage and heat and tools , course he is a car guy too so he might be able to do but hopefully better than duck tape holding blocks of wood/LOL African ingenuity at its best
I have built, & re-built hundreds of trailers, I actually dont even own one, but use 1 I built for guy I used to work for when needed, but in future I want to build 1 for me, & I have a little bit of an unusual design in mind.

I want to build a 24' long car trailer, with triple torsion axles, and the wrecker winch, plus a decent tool box, & way to put 3 spare tires, since I plan to run it as a 4 wheel trailer, & only put 6 on it if hauling heavy. and still have 1 spare. lol.

I also use thompsons water seal on the wood decks but I apply that in the dry season.
Trailer videos are good... All us car guys need them and all of us abuse them.

Yeah it's just a little 4000lb winch but it works pretty well.
