    Great idea! I'm working on a design to make this type of configuration slide over an Alice pack frame, which uses a pocket in the top to slide over the top of the frame and rest there. The reason is that there is a design for a camp chair that replaces the Alice pack frame. That way, a canvas tarp could be used for the pack. I plan to make my own poncho out of heavy duty 55 gallon drum waste liners using some scissors and a heat gun.

    While I like the idea of less is more and allowing that you're going slow to demonstrate this technique, there is nothing like stuffing you gear quickly into a top loading pack, closing it up, sling it on your back and go.

      I don’t disagree with that at all. The real value here comes from the knowledge or tools gained with every individual knot, every individual strap every individual technique. You can choose to use it all as a system or you can use each skill individually for different applications.

    This is actually something I've had on the list to try for years. I've read about it in many of my books and when you posted your last video on the subject I got a way better understanding on how to put the kit together. I've watched that one many times over and now this one with even more added value. I would absolutely love to take a boss course but am unsure how to afford it. They definitely have a few things on there website I would love to pick up but you can't order it on line and I have emailed about trying to get those few things. I was told I would have to pick it up in person. I just need to take CV a course sometime. Lol. Thanks for always putting up great content and inspiring so many including myself.

      If you need alternative places to buy stuff message me on FB and I'll help you find links. If you are having financial issues ask them about financial help. They have a program that might allow you to get to the course.

      Na I get that question a lot. Chandler at Tatton Baird in Springville Utah made that hat for me. Tell him you want a Tyler hat he’ll know what you’re talking about.

    What size MSR pot do you recommend? Thanks

    • @TJackSurvival
      @TJackSurvival  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As big as you can without it being annoying. Especially if you plan on boiling. How many times do you have to boil to get a gallon of water a day?

    • @theotheralan5511
      @theotheralan5511 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My favorite pot is a stainless steel cup with a sturdy stainless handle that I got at a thrift store for 50 ¢. It's about 62oz or 1.5 liters. It can fit one of the larger iso butane cans inside of it.

    • @theotheralan5511
      @theotheralan5511 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can also get a 7 or 8 liter stainless steel stock pot at Walmart for $9 and pack all of your gear in it if you want to be an absolute mad 😡 man. :'D

    Great video. I have to say though, you would probably save 30 mins or so of pack-up time if you just carried a cheap, lightweight daypack. All of the time you spend tying up your blanket pack seems crazy to me.

    • @TJackSurvival
      @TJackSurvival  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Look at each part as an individual skill set or tool for further future applications. Also think outside the box. Think about survival situations where you need to carry a package or make a pack where you don’t have a cheep day pack. Then the skills just make sense
