Dang, so weird to see someone die that hard in the last 500m of a 10,000. Literally cut his pace from 4:Xx per mile to 8:xx that’s crazy

Great learning tool for coaches, this video is... Run The Right Pace The Entire Way, NOT JUST 96% OF IT!!! And if this could happen to a sensational runner like Cheptegei, it could happen to anyone.

I'm sorry but Paula completely goes off into dreamland while commentating this event, during the most crucial and interesting 45 seconds of the race she trails off on a tangent about basically nothing while Kamworor closes down Cheptegei. Full props to Cram for not cutting her off (I still can't decide if he should have). So maddening to watch an incredible turn of events unfold all while the announcer dreamily talks about the training of different countries. That being said, full props to both runners, such a gutsy effort by Cheptegei, for a runner of that caliber to fall apart that hard you know he must have put it all the line and then some. Glad he got his redemption and won the title in 2019. Always a fan Kamworor as well.

Why did Uganda hold that race in this small park that's ok for high school runners out of its beautiful country side? The finish line was very crowded (why let all of the none racers in?), its citizens were running wild, and course was a bit narrow. This was to please the people that were in the stand. It's cross country who cares.
