Yeah, I honestly have only played on PC for the last few years now due to me building myself a PC a few years back when I was younger over christmas gifts slowly. Now trying to save up for a house and its not easy to justify dropping a bunch of money on PS5 and the new game currently. So sucks it will probably be gone on PC soon. Glad to see someone talk about it tho!
I wish 2k had the same kind of modding community games like Skyrim have because i've tried modding 2k and it's just so not user friendly, the websites are shady as hell and I can't tell which ones are actually good to download mods off of, you don't have something like a Nexus or a ModDB. As far as I can tell too there isn't any kind of mod menu/manager either, I'd be tempted to download a ton of cyberfaces but I don't want to replace some files, have them break something, then reinstall the game
There’s probably millions of people who stopped playing 2k for the usual reasons that dont know abt modded 2k on pc that would buy it were to come out on pc if they saw the true capability of next gen 2k with mods. I have bought and played at launch on PC every year since 2k16. This is my first year I'm going to skip. I just prefer to play on PC and don't have any consoles. Luckily I will be busy with Starfield when 2k24 launches.
What about those of us who don't own consoles? I only game on PC and I don't use mods. I just want to play the best game. Also all the online content is for next gen at this point. Any time you look up builds, bad recs, or take overs you basically have to look at last year's version.
thank you for speaking on this topic. i don't own a console because I don't care about playing rec or park. i just like to mess around in myleague and myteam offline by myself. i was saving up my steam money for the new 2k but after hearing its last gen I'm not buying that shit. why would I support and spend money to hopefully have them not neglect an entire section of their playerbase even if it is smaller than console.

So what PC mods do you recommend? Is there a package you can download that just covers everything? I know previously you could get one, but I don't remember the name, but it came with cyberfaces and rosters. I don't know which games it is is available for though. Is 2k23 the best one to mod? The perfect 2k24 would be just for them to remaster 2k17 or 16: just make the exact same game with better graphics and new rosters. Every game has been terrible ever since. Not even okay. All of them have been terrible.
This is one of many problems I have with 2k: • As you mentioned in this video, PC support is nonexistent to the point where Next Gen will never get ported to PC. Since 2k24 is getting cross play, the devs don't want to deal with PC players hacking the fun away from the console players. From what I know, PC 2k lacks an anti cheat and that's the devs fault. • Mod support is amazing but the fact that I have to cough up $70 just to be able to mod a game with the same identical assets but upgraded each year is beyond fucked up. It's cool if the engine or the assets the devs use barely change so porting over mods is literally a Thanos snap away but in the modders perspective, I would be absolutely annoyed to do this each year. Mods are for offline content which is great and I know the older version still have ongoing mod support but this is unreal to re-mod the same game with the same price tag. • I told myself that 2k should just make a live service game so that they can add and update content as time progresses instead of yearly releases. PC can be playable with cross play and next gen with a great anti cheat. Blacktop, MyLeague, MyGM and the other modes can be the offline counterparts. They'll be able to roster update and balance change without splitting the work force on another game and keep the assets and engine upgraded. Depending on how it's executed, they could make tons more money back this way. With all of that being said, I really hope we get another NBA Live game down the line.
Imagine if the PC community made a 2k quivalenf of GTA RP for 2k? We could make 2k EXACTLY how we wanted, there would be hundreds of parks with different sliders, female my players, custom hair, custom clothes, custom map, you could just hop on at 99 overall and play.
TakeTwo would do everything in their power to shut a project like this down, and it is likely they would succeed. It's a damn shame because this would be amazing.
Me and my friends primarily play PC, and we are stupid enough to grind out MC players every year the legit way just to be faced with hackers. The online portion of PC is relatively populated, but 2k has done nothing to combat cheating. There is not a single piece of anticheat software in the game. Hackers have been copy/pasting hacks every year because the games don't ever change. It's fucking insulting honestly.
I was trying to learn to get new Blacktop courts. Now I just want to remove as many restrictions on animations as possble so I can lab. PS: Old Gen only gets Wembanyama's jumpshot for season 2, that was it.
Dom I fuck with you, I fuck with this video, but I ultimately think it's a waste of time. As long as 2K continues to make money hand over fist with VC any and all requests are null and void. I bought every 2k game from 2K11 to 2K 19 day one, then bought 20, 21 late and second hand because I didn't want to support 2K. Now I don't even think about buying the game anymore, and play other games. I got tired of 2K pissing on my head and telling me it's rain.
2:40 To answer your question me anecdotally. 2k20 was the last one I purchased because 2k wouldn't deliver next gen to PC and I thought why should I give them money when they want to half ass cater to me. I don't have a PS5 or XBox but I have a PC that eclipses them in power and 2k can't even bring themselves to deliver a port to a beast of a machine that will handle the game better than their console releases.
The funniest part is how easy it would be to fix the issues that plague 2k on PC. I play crossplay all the time on street fighter 6 and fortnite on PC and I’ve never had to deal with any of the issues on 2k 2k on PC makes FIFA look like the best game of all time If you make EA look better than you than at this point it’s just personal
It's clinical INSANE that Sports Sim games HAVEN'T GONE LIVE SERVICE YET!? They're the ONLY games on the market that should and actually could support the model. Smmfh.
@@notoriouspc tbh ripping out/swapping out and changing game mechanic elements annually is more fruitless (ROI wise) use of engineering resources than locking in a stable feature/mechanic suite for a live service game, and using seasonal passes for special modes like Draft Day/Summer League rosters, start of season - ASG roster, trade deadline rosters, and Playoff roster updates throughout the year. Also, partnering with shoe and clothing manufacturers to patch in custom kicks and pre-game outfits as in game purchaseable cosmetics. But instead, they have however many engineering redesigning the shot meter and changing shot making accuracy year over year.
Time for NBA Live or some other company to take us PC Gamers' money. Heck just make a base basketball game with randoms and then let the steamworkshop and mods do the work.

I buy 2k on PC for 1 reason, to play with my buddies in the rec. None of us wanna buy a console for only 2k. PC has everything else better than consoles for every other games we play.
It could not be that hard to come up with an anti-cheat, especially for a Triple A company with infinite money behind it. MediaTonic (Fall Guys) tried to make their own AC then asked EpicGames for help. 2k is using that as an excuse to be lazy and not do it. There isn't even a reporting system to ban the cheaters. 2k says PC players need to make their voice heard... which means buy the game as-is so they figure there's even more money on top of their RECORD PROFITS. Why would we buy a LG port that looks awful, has no effort put into it, and is disconnected from every other platform? It's a lose-lose situation all while 2k gets richer and richer every single year.
Madden has gone through the same issue!!! You do things no one wants or understands and here you go!! Terrible products and just gimmick ways of micro transactions!!
I think the main reason its still old gen on pc is because A. Vc sales and B. The assumption that "no one is buying the PC version to play online" is based on *false* assumption that everyone who owns a PC also has new gen consoles... That is not the case. Not all of us are rich. Up until recently, new gen consoles were urban legends in most countries. Not all of us will throw away money to buy a new console just to play NBA 2K, when we have built beast PCs to play every other game. Most PC gamers do all of their gaming on PC and want a complete/updated version of NBA 2K on PC. It's so ridiculous that 2K is hiding behind hacking and mods, to excuse their laziness in designing the new version for PC (with its wide range of hardware). Especially when we all know on which "platform" all the development is done for all versions of the game.
I stg they have a contract with PlayStation and Xbox to push next gen systems but never porting it to other systems. The game is MADE ON A PC and pcs can have more powerful setups than both of them. There’s no reason to not port it unless it’s not in their wider business interests

Personally I've been waiting for PC to release again because I bought a PC instead of the next gen consoles. Feeling bummed again this year
Lmfao Dom’s outta pocket for that Homelander cameo
We made it people!!!
The Dom 2K20 legends league and sim was special, when that full legends league finals series vs the heat being reuploaded?🤣
The ship sailed on the series about 3 or 4 years ago. There's no coming back.
Thanks Dom !
2K24 is the first 2K I haven't bought since the series came over to PC
Pirating never felt like a better alternative 😊
3:00 made me choke on my food 😭
The PC version doesn't even have a storyline
Yes
2k23 does and 24 doesn't
2K don’t want y’all playing the game like that if you aren’t buying MyTeam packs and VC lol
There’s probably millions of people who stopped playing 2k for the usual reasons that dont know abt modded 2k on pc that would buy it were to come out on pc if they saw the true capability of next gen 2k with mods. Im no business man but i think its worth it to try even a little bit to port it to pc
Now pc is getting next gen for 2k25 but theres no cross play tho
Wish more 2k youtubers would speak on this, makes me think they're being told not to by 2K.
Great video! Yep... I'm staying on modded 23 as a protest
thank you for speaking on this topic. i don't own a console because I don't care about playing rec or park. i just like to mess around in myleague and myteam offline by myself. i was saving up my steam money for the new 2k but after hearing its last gen I'm not buying that shit. why would I support and spend money to hopefully have them not neglect an entire section of their playerbase even if it is smaller than console.
Take two interactive’s bottom line is to be as profitable as possible even it means killing the gaming experience for everyone, its the reason we’ve literally grown old waiting on gta 6 lmao
Somebody made a video about it 😮
I haven't bought 2k since 20 because of the PC community getting shafted.
You know like how WWE got community creations 2K should have that like for shoes, cyberfaces and courts
BTW only way I remember this was because the last SvR’s I played were 2010 and 2011
I'm buying PC version not because customization, i'm buying it because i don't have PS or XBOX
2K is just dont care, thats it
So what PC mods do you recommend? Is there a package you can download that just covers everything? I know previously you could get one, but I don't remember the name, but it came with cyberfaces and rosters. I don't know which games it is is available for though. Is 2k23 the best one to mod? Or are people still mainly working with 22 or older? Edit: Ultimate Base Roster. That's it. Is it still being used/updated?
I create content for pc and this is very frustrating ive been waiting for 3years salute to ea at least for giving fifa
The PC has to much people cheating with zens, as soon pc gets next gen I’m off 2k won’t play it no more
zen is what people use to cheat on console. People on pc cheat with software not hardware. ur trippin
@@notoriouspc even worse they still cheat, I’ve seen someone put max badges with a 70 overall. PC will never be next gen. It’s just a bunch of cheaters on pc if they wanna play comp get a console 😂, but we no they won’t
I don't have a ps5 so I play 2k on PC, I only really play MyCareer or Myleague because its too laggy to do online stuff, but I do have to admit I bought the game for MyEra and was dissappointed when PC didn't have it. I'm still dissappointed to this day.
The perfect 2k24 would be just for them to remaster 2k17 or 16: just make the exact same game with better graphics and new rosters. Every game has been terrible ever since. Not even okay. All of them have been terrible.
This is one of many problems I have with 2k:
• As you mentioned in this video, PC support is nonexistent to the point where Next Gen will never get ported to PC.
Playing the free version of NBA 2K23 while listening to people shit on NBA 2K24, knowing you aren’t buying it, hits different
It's a damn shame because this would be amazing.
i only reason i want mods is to have 2k14 style animations in next gen 2k24
That ratchet and clank outro is so nostalgic
Me and my friends primarily play PC, and we are stupid enough to grind out MC players every year the legit way just to be faced with hackers. The online portion of PC is relatively populated, but 2k has done nothing to combat cheating. There is not a single piece of anticheat software in the game. Hackers have been copy/pasting hacks every year because the games don't ever change. It's fucking insulting honestly.
The funny part is they DID add an anti cheat to PC in may of this year iirc.
2K should just add a workshop system.
The funniest part is how easy it would be to fix the issues that plague 2k on PC. I play crossplay all the time on street fighter 6 and fortnite on PC and I’ve never had to deal with any of the issues on 2k
2k on PC makes FIFA look like the best game of all time
If you make EA look better than you than at this point it’s just personal
This is so sad to hear I literally only play 2k on PC because I don’t have an xbox or ps5
Dom2k whats your intro soundtrack at 00:13 ? I like it but can't find it
YO same I think its from an old game I used to play called Driver 3
@@yvngfxmc it is , just found it. Thank you
It's clinical INSANE that Sports Sim games HAVEN'T GONE LIVE SERVICE YET!? They're the ONLY games on the market that should and actually could support the model. Smmfh.
Yeah it would be great for the consumers, but where do you get the idea that ANY of these companies are pro-consumer?
Until people stop buying the game in mass 2K will never give a shit
After Microsoft said 6 will no longer be making games for Xbox One, I see next gen on PC coming soon
the reason i want next gen on PC is because im not gonna buy a console for 500 bucks just to play 1 game lol. i want the eras system and the updated gameplay not the old stuff
Madden has been dead in the water at this point. Just look at the reactions to the "trailer."
I think the main reason its still old gen on pc is because A. Vc sales and B. They have a completely different team doing old gen 2k vs current gen and in their laziness they just let the old gen team deal with the PC version, thats why i just stick with 2k16 on pc the graphics mods make the game look incredible
We need NBA Live to come back man.
I wish they could somehow add online personal servers like old games let you do.
They could easily do p2p for simple team vs matches, but for the rest dedi servers wouldn't work with 2k.
Thank you for speaking about the PC version of 2k
I think you are the only "big voice" talking about this
the last 2k I played for a while was 2k20, and now I got 2k23 on the summer sale, I kinda gave up on the pc version of 2k
Bring the dom channel back bro for ur 2k vids
As someone who switched to pc to play other games better. 2k has been a massive let down and i really miss console for this very reason. But the mods in 2k pc could be insane with access to the next gen platform
I don't buy pc nba to mod it, I do it because I spent alot on a war machine pc and don't wanna spend on a whole ps5 just to play 2K
2k14 this happened to for some odd reason they gave pc the old version
Same ol games every yr,all they do is add a new animation and call it the best game ever.....haven't bought 2k in 4yrs
😂😂😂
