Episodes 6-8 today!
31:40 You guys kinda missed this because everyone was talking and caught up on the Xander military memory...BUT, (to clarify) when Willow asks if he got his info from his old military Halloween episode memory, Xander actually clarifies by saying, "No. It's from every army movie I've ever seen." SO...yes it is a call back, but it's not the reason.
Also, The First was initially presented in the Amends episode where Angel tries to commit suicide in season 3. (Ms. Calendar appeared to him as The First.)
Always because of Suraj
No one notices the striking resemblance of the Uber Vamp to the creature Joss drew for the final “Grrr…Arrrgh!”…?
My favorite running jokes in Buffy: World without shrimp, Xanders military “experience”, Anyas bunny phobia & (like in this episode) Tuckers brother 😂
Them wanting the invisible army to come back never stops being funny.
You guys missed the part where the First says: "you want to see what a real vampire looks like?". It is quite a big deal, but you'll see it play out in the next episodes. Can't wait for these reactions.
I really like how they brought back a season 3 monster of the week, the First Evil, as the final Big Bad! It was from the Christmas episode where the First took the form of Jenny and other victims of Angel, goading him into killing himself before he was saved by miracle snow.
Ah good, talk down the Uber-Vamp and dismiss the threat it poses. Good, good...
I mean…. He does look goofy as hell lol But as WE know, he’s about to be a big threat!
It is kind of the big problem with this season (of many). It takes them until Caleb to find something that poses an actual threat, and that's not for a while yet. The Turok-Han is pretty lame, a bad Orlok rip-off (though the reference is cool), and the First is more obnoxious than scary
@@ReXtion88 Yeah, it's a lot of building tension trying to put things into place, so there's no stand-out enemy yet. This is a "big idea" season that perhaps has too many moving parts.
@@ReXtion88 They definitely could've made Caleb's presence on the show even more formidable if they'd introduced him earlier
The reveal scene kind of reminds me of Gaknar’s (actual size)
In the Age of Ultron scene where Thor is freaking out due to Scarlet Witch's mind tricks, we see a reference to Wolfram & Hart, the demonic law firm from Angel.
(In the show, we find out that the firm descends from three ancient demons: the Wolf, the Ram, and the Hart.)
they don't take the ubervamp serious just wait until the next episode
💀💀 this ubervamp is scray asf
Then Caleb shows up and what he does to Xander. That's all I'm saying about that.
@@kevinnelson66that final part of that episode was insane. Can’t wait for their reaction to that.
You saw the blind guys (and the first) back in the Season 3 episode Amends, the episode where Angel was visited by ghosts that tried to trick him into killing Buffy.
I don’t remember that either, I feel like I need to go back and watch it again, which episode was it??
@@kevinage2332 Amends, S03x10
@@Henrik_Holst is that the episode where buffy is getting a Christmas tree and the ground and trees are all dead? and later in the episode she goes under that spot and thats where the guys without eyes are right?
@@Lions1986 that's the one
Andrew is just such a funny character, I love him!
The principle's office is over the Hellmouth, he must be evil. Like the Scooby gang was when they were always on top of it.
Giles did have a bit of a dark side. He was referred to as "Ripper" for a reason.
Spike doesn't have the right to be around Buffy? That isn't your decision it's Buffy's decision if she wants to be around him or not.
Even spike knows who tucker is 😂
Xander being in construction does not explain all the rope
Shout out to Dawn for holding her own with that fight
It's a good scene because it shows that Buffy has continued training Dawn even tho the training isn't shown.
Yeah she's so badass
"Insignificant man" is the best insult, awesome.
Really beginning to heat up now, with Warren appearing again to Andrew to try and manipulate him, and Quentin Travers looking for Giles too. Funny when Willow confronts Andrew and brings him back to the house, with Anya revelling in the 'good cop, bad cop' scenario with Andrew. Interesting scene with Buffy feeding the bag of blood to Spike, she did the same in S4 Something Blue, that time with disdain and reluctantly, this time we can see by her facial expressions she really cares that Spike makes a recovery. Spike and Buffy have a real conversation about feelings and her attitude to life now, we can see these are now on a different level, so much more meaningful. Great scene when Spike grabs Andrew through the wall and bites him. Xander works out that the song is 'the trigger' to Spike's behaviour. Again the way the writers are using Principal Wood, we just know there is more to him. When Spike is chained in the basement he tells Buffy of how cruel he could be as vampire, which is hard for her to listen to. However, Buffy knows deep down that Spike has changed, and gives a great speech to him telling him this. Then of course we see the Shrouded attackers break into the house, and Spike has now gone missing too. Buffy eventually makes the connection to have fought them before, which she did back in S3 and realises it is The First Evil from The Amends episode in S3. The Watchers Council prepare to the attack, but are blown to pieces. So now Buffy is alone in this fight. Great last scene where Spike is on a type of crucifix and is bled to open the Hellmouth and the form of Buffy says 'want to see what a real vampire looks like' Another great episode Building towards the Show Finale.
Suraj: This little guy? He's cute.
Marketa: (staring at Suraj in horror) HE'S CUTE??
🤣🤣🤣 Love that exchange! Lol!
"You'll never see the invisible people again" - well yeah, duh!
27:59 I have to point out the hypocrisy of the Buffy fans who find Spike irredeemable after the attempted SA of Buffy, but have no problem forgiving Faith after she attempted to SA and murder Xander. And she HAD a soul when she chose to do that. Pat says a person is irredeemable after that, but I wonder if he feels that way about Faith, too.
Fans dont forgive Faith for her assault to Xander. She is forgiven because of her loneliness but not for the acts she did.
But yes Spike regretted and fought for his soul maybe it is the best love he could do for Buffy.
Xander doesn't enter into a close, quasi-romantic relationship with Faith after the attack. There's certainly discussion to be had about Faith's redemption wrt Xander, but it is very different than seeing Buffy snuggle up to her attacker on screen.
Faith's attack was not s*x focused. It was more about her threatening him with violence and there was no indication she was physically motivated. And, Xander didn't act scared and realistic like Buffy did. I'm not excusing what she did, but constantly bringing it up like this is more of a "gotcha" moment for fans and not because anything that's happening in this plotline is actually related to Faith.
@@alicequinn505 What she did with/to Riley was worse!!!
Faith didn't try to get in a relationship with Xander after she was redeemed
I love how they’re underestimating the Ubervamps 😂😂 Thinking about it now after this episode the stakes just keep rising higher
Well, I'm thinking of the last episode when Anya and Andrew took out multiple Ubervamps...
You should watch it again. Anya and Andrew fight Bringers.
@@basharic3162 anya fought both ubervamps and bringers
@@basharic3162 YOU watch it again
I think is harder to accept from Spike, because when we see Angel and Angelus, they are completely different characteres, like the acting is tottally different. But from Spike, the whey he acts doesnt change much, so its harder to see him on screen and not be remembered about the things he done last season.
#SundayRundown
Well, Buffy trusted him, she never did Angelus. But when they talked about how it wasn't the First making him do it, all I could think was no, it was the writers.
boy do they have a surprise coming
Xander and Anya with their good cop/bad cop routine, just emulating things they've seen on television will always be funny. Even Xander's line about Anya killing "more men than smallpox" is a quote from the movie Young Guns.
The first showed up in an earlier season under a Christmas tree lot.
The episode title, "Never Leave Me" is part of the lyrics of Spike's trigger song, "Early One Morning", an old British Isles folk song -- Early one morning, just as the sun was rising, I heard a maid sing in the valley below, "Oh don't deceive me, Oh never leave me. How could you use a poor maiden so?"
Re: the outro discussion of how to feel about the "reformed" Spike. My aunt married a young man right after high school and he turned out to be a violent drunk. She suffered a lot of physical and mental abuse from him for over two years, until the night he threatened their toddler daughter, when she immediately left and they divorced. Almost 20 years later, he went into AA and got in touch as part of the "apology tour" part of the process. He wanted to get back in touch with their daughters. My aunt said OK, and he and his fourth wife started visiting, participating in family events, etc.
As for the blind guys. Think back to season 3. You will remember.
Maybe, that was a long time ago for the Normies.
@@sdagoth3037 You really can't expect them to remember something from 4 seasons back when they watched it in between 10 more shows. They didn't even remember Spike had a soul a couple episodes ago.
@@bernardsoul5186 I don't expect them to, that's what I was saying to the OP.
You expect the Normies to remember anything?
They won't lmao they have terrible memories
Poor Xander, he spent all this time fixing the house, just to have it instantly broken again
So remember back when Angel tried to kill himself in season 3, that was the first introduction of the First, now it’s back
We were supposed to ask them to rewatch it, now it's too late
How did they not get it? Its just a vampire. A real vampire.
The best movie about a Sleeper Agent is The Manchurian Candidate (the original) with Frank Sinatra, Laurence Harvey and Angela Lansbury
Such a funny episode, anya was hilarious. 😅 Also, angel 13,14 and 15 would be an interesting group reaction.
Whoever made those spoilery subtitles should be fired!
We love you Supermarket. You don't need to explain yourself😊
the next episode is going to be so damn good
"there're dead! they died!" was so funny!
DID YOU HAVE TO BRING UP CORDY AND CONNER? Aw I try to forget that whole thing!
The principal’s office is over the hellmouth because when they rebuilt the high school they built the principal’s office where the library used to be. The hellmouth didn’t move.
Xander's military episode was season 2 and yes, he still remembers.
Ok spidey lookin like how i like my shakes.....all chocolatey and THICC 😍
i know, right 🫦
Dudes. The First and the Bringers from season three.
The Weasel wants to sing.....😂😂😂😂😂.....fu**ing love Anya
I always wondered how they could drown spike when he doesn't breath anyway
As always, thanks for all you do, Normies.
I love Spidey, but he is always wrong in his assumptions about Buffy characters and plots. And always so confident about it. Lol.
The thing I love about this show is Buffy ends up with zero men. Because that’s what her character represents. She doesn’t need Spike or Angel or…. Riley lol. Them saying they don’t ship these two is perfect because Buffy isn’t supposed to be shipped with anyone. She’s a strong, independent woman!
I always felt that they should have physically changed Spike's look so he appears like a mix of William and Spike.
Amends, Season 3. Rewatch.
Love of admiration.
Love how you guys think this monster isn't shit lol
Yet y'all forget that buffy was using spike in s6,like a lot ! i'm ok with Marketa but still, it's not like they never sleep together before that 😅
Will you read the comics. That will definitely make you feel better afyer this ends. We would like to know your thoughts on them.
i somewhat agree with Marketta about Spike and Spike should not be around Buffy at all but and this is a big but the world is in trouble and this powerful big bad is using Spike for their nefarious plans. She needs to be around him for this special situation and hopefully theres a clean break when this is over.
I suggest you read the comics
ok Pat look at Spike like hes a twin one is good the other is bad and r worded Buffy
you guys should react to Interview with the Vampire (AMC’s Tv show) it’s one of the best things on tv right now! 😊 ❤
look at it this way..if you got a decent gentleman and pump him full of drugs that change his personality( without his consent) into a feral version , is he at fault? do people need to behave like his sober self is the same as the drug induced?
I like to think we are getting a reaction to the other witch show today but I’m not getting my hopes up when it comes to marvel with them…
Rewatch Amends from Season 3
Go back and watch Amends from season 3. Then it makes more sense.

Angel goes on TH-cam you cowards
Kgf
I agree with Marketta about Spike
I'm glad you all finally addressed how you feel about Spike & Buffy and making it really clear. I was so sick of these Spike fans spuffys calling you dumb or claim you were hypocritical when there is complete different situations and nuances than with Angel or other 'evil' characters. And I fully agree after 20 years, I still do not ship Spuffy, she deserved her space and to deal with the trauma which the writers really didn't care to address and pushing them back together in S7 is just in bad taste.
PERIOD!
Spoilers!
But they didn’t end up together, so what’s your point?
@@JaylaFrazier-j7s dont be disingenuous. you know fine well S7 was pandering.
@@theprodigal it wasn’t…. Spoilers again!
The ultimate character development from spike was getting over the romantic obsession with Buffy, and finally being selfless by sacrificing himself, without the need of her love.
I don't feel any need to explore Buffys trauma. All of season 6, and big points in other seasons, focused on exactly that, and they've clearly written her in this very balanced and healed place now. I do disagree about them victimizing her at all in service of a male character's story arc - that was a misstep. But just as they wrote that *not* about Buffy, the aftermath is likewise *not* about her either. As myself, and other victims of SA and grape have voiced, focusing on the victim's experience is NOT always wanted nor cathartic by victims watching the story. We often don't want the focus on us. Something we DO often go through is fantasies about our perpetrators feeling remorse and regret and admitting to what they did. Having them be tortured by the fact that they did it. So this storyline with Spike is amazingly cathartic for many (but not all) victims to watch. It's wish fulfillment for us. It's something that we literally NEVER get in real life. Our perpetrators almost never admit to what they did let alone feel tortured by it or go thru hell to change themselves over it. So I for one get very sick of the criticism of the post SA storyline that focuses on Spike instead of Buffy. Sometimes these stories are beneficial to tell as well
Thirst comment.
The Master is back looks like.
nope
That Turok-Han is displeased with your comparison to a lesser creature.
Some more woke shit 😂
Xander was Mathew Perry's inspiration for Chandler Bing. Your welcome.
My welcome.
But Friends came out 3 years earlier than Buffy. Perhaps it was the other way around?
@@javialiasxavi1456 Right. Thanks for the correction, memory is funny.
The FIRST, Caleb and the Uber vampires are going to run amok through Sunnydale
15:03 Another way to think of it is, Do u hold Angel accountable for Angelus actions
