    I'm a portrait photographer and I shoot with this exact lens....I must say that I love everything about it...the focal length, build quality, and the bokeh that I get from it is amazing. I too use to think that I had to have only Nikon lenses but I am happy and very satisfied with this Tamron 70-200.....and btw...Great video.

      Disney Image Makers thanks for the reply. Do you know if it’s water sealed or moisture resistant? I have some of the different G2 lenses from tamron that I know are weather sealed and dust sealed. And I’ve used them in the rain enough that I trust the sealing. I just don’t know about the g1 of the 70-200. I’ve found one for 500 gbp in like new condition if you can believe it!

    • @BillEricPhotography
      @BillEricPhotography  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      For shooting sports manual should be fine as long as there's not a lot of changing light. you could easily under or over exposing image with the sun going in and out or lighting changes depending on how you move. I think a more reliable way to shoot sports especially outside like soccer would be to shoot in aperture priority. and adjust your aperture and ISO to keep your shutter speed up around a thousandth of a second. If you're finding too much light is getting into the camera even at ISO 100 stop down until the shutter speeds are where you want them. Hope that helps.

    • @BillEricPhotography
      @BillEricPhotography  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm sure there are some out there but I know one of the big differences that you can only use it on cameras that have electronic connections to the lens. The G1 lens was able to be used with the old screw type focus. And I'm sure there are improvements in the lens itself. If that's the case then it's probably well worth the price because the one that I had was fantastic!

    Yeah I’m at the point where the 24-70mm focal range is so common and vanilla for lack of a better term. It so versatile especially for fast run and gun environments, situations, and events but, I’ll just say it, the images can just be flat out boring.
    I find myself wanting to go super wide and immersive for the viewer or longer tighter and more artful. So it’s wider glass like a 16-35mm and for the longer as mentioned 70-200mm. Just about everything looks amazing from a 70-200 focal length. And if not those zooms fast primes like an 85mm 1.4 or longer.
    I feel my best photography oriented shots are from super wide, longer, and fast glass.

      Neither one of us really shoots sports that much. I would say though if you're trying to capture fast action keep your shutter speed at around 1/1,000 of a second. That shouldn't be a problem with soccer because you are outside and it should be bright enough. I always like shooting at F4 with this lens also it gives you a nice out of focus background. You can also try using the tracking focus I always used to just use spot focus and follow the subject with the camera.

      Not really. The 85mm to 135mm range is the best portrait range, and you’ll still have that from 105-135. And you’ll be getting more reach on the long end (300mm) to shoot telephoto.
