2:01 Because Guitars & Basses use Geared Tuners (even Ukuleles etc), we're going to add Geared Tuners to the Violin, Viola, & Cello as well so that it's easier to tune up w/o any need for fine tuners on the Tailpiece.

I recommend using Geared Tuners on all Bowed instruments cause you won't need fine tuners on the tailpiece anymore.

Knilling Strings Those are geared tuning machines. There are ones that look like guitar tuning mechanisms which are cool cause geared mechanisms for stringed instruments make tuning them much easier and more fun. They're lighter weight.

Those perfection pegs as well as various geared tuners for bowed instruments, will also allow you to eliminate those fine tuners making your Violin, Viola, or Cello, become an Eco friendly instrument.

Of course the Grover 5B Violin Tuning machines look like Standard Violin pegs in a Slightly Lighter Black. These Tuning Machines are quite a fantastic upgrade.

The Original Tuning gears for Bowed instruments looked like Flatter versions of the Original peg that simply pointed down from the Scroll.

You know what folks, there's now a string winder which means stringing is easier for these Tuning keys. In fact folks the tradition of using friction pegs is in fact outdated.

The 7 String Fretted Viper Volin, & 6 String Fretted Cobra Cello are alot easier to play in many ways than a Standard Violin, Viola, or Cello because 1) the frets eliminate the need to put tapes on the fingerboard, 2) the additional strings make transposing alot easier, & 3) the geared tuning machines make tuning alot easier. The additional straps do allow the instrument to hold you just like the Guitar, Bass, & even a Keytar. They're easier to play than Standard string instruments but they're not yet available in fractional sizes.

Knilling Strings I'm afraid that they'll have to phase out all the friction pegs & stick to just mechanical tuners (there are also some that look like Guitar tuners which seem ideal for Electric instruments) as well as leave the fine tuners off the tailpiece. They should also make Bowed instruments as small as 1/64 Size out of Carbon Fiber (as well as the Electric versions) & also include a Carbon Fiber Bow (Fractional Sizes Joule Bow as well as a Double Bass version called the Infinity).

Knilling Strings I found Geared Tuning machines for a Violin:www.ebay.com/itm/4-4-BRASS-VIOLIN-MACHINE-PEGS-easy-tune-geared-/202228591207 & they work too. Those particular Tuning gears are held in by screws, & they point downwards from the scroll. The form is actually the same as a normal peg but is colored white.

The Church Bass is really an oversized Cello with geared tuning machines cause 1) it emulates an Upright Bass look, & 2) it's easier to keep in tune.

The lack of fine tuners on the Tailpiece livens up the sound by allowing the top to vibrate more freely, which is exactly like on a Baroque stringed instrument.

Great video but it needs to be remade. This looks like something out of the 80’s.

You can find them online. I just typed : "knilling perfection pegs" on Google and could find some violin shops that sell them here where I live.

@@Araujoth They're basically geared tuners and yep Ebay has ones that look like guitar tuners with flat knobs.

@@Araujoth There's another version:www.internationalviolin.com/ProductDetail/7601_violin-machine-heads-44sz-brass & these ones are pretty robust cause the knobs point down from the headstock at a 90 degree angle.

I'd install these immediately if they wouldn't burn my violin budget for years. Ironically, the people who need them the most are people who have under $ 500 instruments.

The Guitar style Tuning machines for Violin, Viola, Cello on the other hand have a 16:1 Gear ratio which is way less making them ideal for practicality.

These geared tuning machines make tuning any bowed instruments easier especailyl for begginers cause it eliminates the need to have fine tuners.
