This video gives me an unreal feeling. A feeling I only felt in my dreams. The way you walked over the mountains during the night, while still in twilight must be out of this world. Completely alone, in the middle of nowhere. I can't get my head around it. I dreamt about hiking through northern countries as well, through the snow in the twilight of sunset and it gave me a feeling like I was on another planet. This video is exactly like that! Thanks for sharing!
I've been to Iceland twice and planning to go back this year in the summer and thinking of doing this hike, that's how I found your video. Thanks for all your work and sharing. The best sunset I ever saw in my life was at Dyrholaey in start of October, the colours were so crazy it looked like a painting.
Beautiful trek. Good to see it in good conditions. Did it 2 weeks ago along with Laugavegur. But word of warning. Don't do it in iffy weather. We pushed on against our better judgement and because the weather had been so good up until that point but it was a mistake. Rain down below turned into a blizzard conditions on top. The markers are poor at times and in fog you are reliant on GPS. We got so cold and battered we had to use the emergency entrance at Fimmvörðuháls hut after a judgement call on whether we could carry on. We couldn't and didn't and thank God for that. The next day the weather improved around 10am and made our way down to Skógar but only after a good few hours of more haphazardly marked routes. We could have gotten into real trouble in the fog and cold. Be safe. The best way of staying safe in bad conditions is not to put yourself in them in the first place. Bad weather. Just don't do it. Not worth it. The views at the top were obscured anyway.
The videos are getting so good! That start was epic. Loved all the drone shots and that title at the beginning with video playing inside. Plus loved the whole video
Looks like you did this section on July 13, 2021?? We are flying in June 27 this year (2024) will start from Landmannalaugar the next day. Spending 4 nights on that trail before finishing along this same final leg from Porsmork to Skogar. Praying we have conditions as nice as yours appeared to be!!!
The view with the clouds is cool, but what you missed below the clouds is the best part. Also you missed some of the peaks that are worth going up on a clear day. The drone shots were nice as well as the opening over view of Iceland.

What time of the year did you do this?
I have question. Is it possible to go really close to the glacier from that trail? Like touch ice?
is it hard to stay on track - do you get lost easily?
