Can’t believe it’s three years. Started watching your vids when they started. Had our boat now almost a year so you kept me going for the two years during our build and we are now part of the community
Hi Vince. What a lovely day and the scenes around were beautiful. Makes the cruising so well worth it and three winters already. Doesnt seem that long since you left the static living behind. The good thing is you are still enjoying it all (most of the time anyway). You will have to reassemble the boats badges to match. Its very nice hearing various kind people asking after my well being, thank you all. Well take care Vince and keep up with the vlogs so I can enjoy going along with you, even though I am viewing from home. Love Mum xxx
Yes mum there was some lovely autumnal scenery and the weather was lovely that day! Been out here for about 2 and a half years now! See you soon love Vince xxx
Your turn at Hawkerbury Junction was smooooooooth and professional 😁👍Tricky maneuvers are usually easier when not having a pub audience HaHa... Charity Dock was weird, 😁 but as you said quite interesting. QUIRKY indeed!! Three years all ready, time flies when your having a happy life💚 Always enjoy your narrowboat descriptions and little adventures. Stay safe Vince, and happy crusing🙂✌️
Oh look at that turn….to the manor born. So now on the Coventry canal which is looking as good as many of the others. So peaceful. Looks like a lovely trip.
We had an old wooden topped narrowboat and the roof and sides beyond repair, sat at Charity Dock on a pile of scrap was in Steel a 32ft top and sides with port holes, which covered most of the accommodation. That was 12 years ago and still going strong. Anyway Charity Dock decor looks like a free spirit lurking somewhere nearby. Some TH-camrs cameras fail to record the display, well done 😵
Good work Vince. Here’s to your next three years and beyond! I will have done four years in February & I’m loving it. Gloucester & Sharpness for winter. Have a good one.
Me, 8:00 I wonder what that building on the left coming up is......... Shane, 8:33 "that's a redundant old steam pump house" That's some impressive time travelling mind reading there!
Million miles away from the metropolitan- majestic- Made up for ya Vince- living the dream. Top videos carry on boating. All the best mate. Tommy. S ⚒️
Wow is it really 3 year's doesn't seem that long.. As usual Vince a lovely cruise, you did those junctions perfectly. Haven't done The Ashby so looking forward to seeing it. As for charity Dock it's certainly different and definitely a talking point. Until next time stay safe, warm and well. K
Hi Kath! I've been out here about 2 and a half years, and this will be my third winter! Ashby is lovely so far. And Charity Dock was interesting to see. Look after yourself Vince!
Another lovely video, thanks Vince. Looks like a great day you had for taking on the junction. I just had to take my little (very little 15ft) river boat out the water for the winter as the marina freezes up here in the Czech winter. No more nights afloat for me until spring so I shall be relying on your videos to keep me going. All the best sir.
You managed those junctions well Vince. Marston looked tighter than a nun’s *@&f haha. Some beautiful autumn scenery too. Thanks for the mention for the coffee. Hope it’s all helping you out. Enjoy your time on the canals. Deb Xxx
A lovely video Vince. You did well on Hawkesbury and the Marston junction Quite an expert now Vince.. it was a good idea checking out the landscape first. I didn't mind the Charity Dock although it did look a bit jumbled but I'm sure it makes a lot of people happy I love the sound of the birds as you float along. The Coventry canal is really nice. Thanks for taking us along and for the mention. Love aunt Babs XXX
That Charity Dock was out of the ordinary! And the Coventry was unexpectedly nice, I wasn't expecting much. I have to be a bit slippery and check things out first, that comes from being a bit streetwise growing up in Plaistow haha! See you next time xxx
Great video , I go shooting there behind the Greyhound pub , there’s a shooting club, targets with a air rifle , I got my drone up on my TH-cam channel a couple of videos ago at that junction, cheers shane
Good manoeuvres at those bends, wow 3 winters coming up on the canals, no wonder you have great skills at turning the narrow boat. Lovely Fall weather for you, all the leaves are down here now, moving into colder days. Looking forward to seeing the Ashby canal.
Hi Vince, have subscribed and watched most of your videos..I love the way you present them, you have a great voice for commenting! I also live on my Narrowboat making videos although mine are just 1 minute long ! I call it ' A minutes peace ' it's Narrowboating but also sightseeing. I remember when l first bought an old Narrowboat off Ebay and bringing it home yo Cosgrove in Buckinghamshire had to negotiate that turn at Hawksbury junction lol. Best wishes to you Colin
Vince, You're a natural mate, made those turns look easy. You've had a bit of practice by now mind. Shouldn't you have explained what a scarecrow is too!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 Take care Wurzel! Jeff.
Stop being a show off merchant Worzel 😂 😂 That was a really lovely video dad, Well done on those awkward turns, you made it look easy! Can’t wait for your new adventures on the Ashby, looks beautiful round there! Xx
Generally speaking if time passes that quick it means you are happy ,result 👍 l worked on a farm that looked like Charity Dock and l was as happy as a pig in s...😊
Yet another enjoyable cruise with a few sharp turns and a couple of water side scrap yards, I hope your enjoying your trip up north well midlands on the way north sorry I'm late but I'll try harder next time safe sailing ⛵
Hey Vince, do tell us who, Sent You to Coventry. We'll pop round and sort em out for yer!!!!!!!! Nice bit of tiller work and you didn't even use the sides to push her round, well done. Autum is favorite time of the year and when I lived in Gloucestershire, I loved to visit The Forest of Dean that has a verity of tree species and so lots of different shades of gold.
Hello Vince and thank you for another interesting instalment of your travels. I was particularly interested in seeing how you were going to handle the abrupt change in direction at Hawkesbury Junction, following your description of it in your previous episode. It was only when I saw the junction I realised I had been through this junction many years ago. I didn't manage to get round in one go due to the boat in front of me stalling in the area after the bridge. They managed to sort themselves out with the use of their bow thruster. This was the first and last time I'd seen one in use on a narrow boat, I thought at the time it was cheating. I did like seeing, by the bridge just after the property's fronting the canal the toilet and bucket on the wall with what I assume to be flowers in season. Right, enough of my waffling, keep up the good work and I look forward to your next instalment of your travels. Kevin
Top job mate. . . great bit of boat manoeuvring. Not sure if I am a fan of the canal decoration but I don't hate it. . . each to their own I suppose. It sure looks beautiful on the Ashby so enjoy it bud. Take care.
Cheers Mark! I would call it a bit weird looking with all them dummies about, but it certainly got my attention! Ashby is lovely but would be even better if I would have got here in the summer. Take care mate!
Isn’t Coming across something unusual, in some way, part of the point of travel. You never know what the experience or adventure will come out of it. I get that feeling even popping to the shops…..ever alert, ever ready! You never know.
I'm a little disappointed Wurzel. Didn't a famous Scarecrow once say "You may turn if you want to, but this scarecrow is not for turning"! Or am I going senile as well!! 🤪
Hi Vince, we went past aitch a few days ago heading up the Ashby. We are currently moored just south of Snarestone tunnel. Are you heading this way? We would love to say "hello".
@@NarrowboatCruisingLifestyle our boat is Pillar Of Autumn - just look for the 5 big solar panels on a grey/green 70' boat (with a shiny dustbin in the well deck).
Hi Vince 👋. New subscriber here. I'm loving your channel! It's like popping round for a cuppa with a mate where you get to slow down and chill a while. I plan on doing what you're doing in a few years but while im saving up, I'll just join you! 😉 Tracy (and Moo the dog who seems to love watching you too!) 🙏 Ps- are you a London boy? Masterly turn at Hawkesbury, Vince. Marston is not easy, best of luck. Nick

Another great video Vince, especially showing us how your boat handling skills are developing very nicely. All the Best!
