Those bridge piers were used by the Monon RR, the line through there was abandoned around 1997 and I believe the bridge spans were removed a short time later. 🚂🚃🚃 Looks like a good time and a great area to fish! Good job Miss Annabelle!! I'm definitely on board with you returning to do some catfishing! 🎣🎣
That's awesome!! I knew there had to be a cool story to such a beautiful spot. We went back today!! Gotta get to work on the footage. Thanks for the info and support!!
I appreciate you all and the great content!! I'm inspired to go creek and river fishing in the area. I just need to get my rear in gear and get out there...Probably next year! Lol
@@dirt_pile_productions5812 I get my little river boat done this winter we need to plan a trip together next season. I will message you on Instagram when the time gets close.
Thanks man! Watching channels ljke yours has gotten me more interested in testing my own local stretches. We are starting to target cats here now. Hope to find a giant!!
I'm going to put some serious time in here. My smallmouth creek I usually fish spills in here about 100yds down stream. I bet there's a giant in there somewhere.
Awesome job out there you two! Congrats to Annabelle getting her first river bass! Those bass looked sweet whatever kind of hybrid they were. Or if they were spots. I have to travel 4 or 5 hours to get to them. I love watching your videos cause you do what it takes to get to fish. Bank fishing rivers and walking creeks can be a huge challenge but it's always worth the exploration. Great video 🙌
We've been catching some wild fish since it's been down. Normally this river is up another 10 foot and these spots are unobtainable without a strong river boat. There's some rough spots upstream that is rough navigating and dangerous banks. Low conditions have made this a little less unsafe and a whole lot better for bank fishing
That's awesome! I was telling another channel about the "The rise of the White River" video. I think it's a great video showcasing the devastating followed by a great gathering to save it. I plan on spending a lot of time along this stretch in upcoming videos.
Thanks Mark!! I figured since the fish weren't to impressive I would try to share the experience more on this one. I might change my videos to this format more. I think people will enjoy seeing what we go through to get the fish more than just the catches.
I remember the first video of yours I've ever seen was you trekking through the backwoods in search if elk. Absolutely loved being able to see everything involved all the way down to camp.
You lost Annabelle in the beginning 🤣. She couldn’t keep up. The pollution is a real shame. Looking forward to another live catfishing episode! These areas look absolutely beautiful. Nice job Annabelle on your 1st river bass! 100% come back n hit that area for some cats!!!
There's a really amazing documentary on TH-cam called the rise of the white river. Its the story of what happened and what we are doing to try and reverse it. I highly recommend it. I will post a link. I had no idea she fell behind like that until I was editing the footage 😂 I'm going back Monday to target some cats for a video and I will most likely be back out Monday night for a live stream.
@@PuddleWalkersOutdoors I just put it in my watch later list! Thanks man…looking forward to seeing it. The Delaware River has gone through it as well. The regulations they put in place and environmental groups have brought it back to life. The stories from my grandfather about the Delaware were pretty scary.
Hello Greg after all that shoulder bumping ever since I met you I bet it's sore as all hell geeezzz man how many kiddos do you have excellent spot bro your b-roll content is always well shot and editing topnotch as usual plus congrats on your first river bass Annabelle...Great upload
Thanks Chris! 🤣 I really need a yak or get to work on the boat for this place. We walked about a mile to get to this place. I tracked my favorite smallmouth creek to this location. Just down stream where Annabell caught that spot is the mouth of my creek. I would wade the creek to it but it's a few miles. Thanks for the kind words brother 🙏
Quite a journey for you and Annabelle. Greg, but even though you caught only a few, she caught hers. Gotta give the kid credit, so ATTAGIRL! Get the feeling things are winding down? We have possible snow in the forecast for next week, and the light is fading early. Better luck after some rain and a warm spell, maybe. Happy trails.
It is definitely winding down. That's why I've moved to bigger streams. I think if I continue with this location I can find more cold water season fish like walleye, wipers, and big cats. I love it when Annabell can join me on solo trips like this. She's always so positive no matter the situation. Thanks Timothy for the kind words!!
@@PuddleWalkersOutdoors I noticed that great attitude when she was climbing down the rubble. No whining, just positive the whole time. Of course she probably learned to deal with adversity with older brothers teasing and such. You a night owl?
Catch up Annabelle! I'm gone for a month and you hit 1K and rocket on up to 1.2K. Congrats Mr. Greg. !! Well deserved! That's a good looking area. I've put the WP's up for the season. I've been fishing the Wacky the last 2 Saturdays. Are the creeks cooling down there yet? You all were on a rock climbing adventure. Nice work Annabelle! That area look like a good area for kitty for sure!
Thanks. New stretch of river and I hope it pays off the more we fish it. Gavin went back there today and caught a couple nice spots and a huge moon eye shad.
I love that thumbnail. Nice catch Annabelle! Greg did you ever figure out what bass that was? Always fun catching a new species. Man what a sweet spot on the river! Yes, my eyes got big when I seen all that's going on there. I'd say there some big fish just waiting to be caught down there.
I never got a solid answer 😕 I'm going with a hybrid. I'm heading back Monday and Tuesday and using what I've learned from your videos to catch me a hawg. So far the boys have caught a 10lb channel there on cut bait. I'm setting the Minnow trap for shads at my creek Sunday night and bringing a bucket and aerator. Flathead city I'm sure.
@@PuddleWalkersOutdoors Sure could be a hybrid Bass. Right on Brother! It sure looks like a great place for flatheads. If you catch any bluegills down there throw them out live. Looks like great conditions for monster smallies too.
Man, you out some miles on and bushwhacked to get on them - great job to the both of you! Are ticks as bad of an issue there like they are here in MI? Great job on her first river bass! Way to go!👏

Seemed every time I went out I was picking 30 off of me by the time I got home. Thanks Joe, I'm trying to get out there to find these trophy fish I keep hearing about from our river.
Watching you fish deep on St.Clair is helping my bait decisions. This stretch has some spots over 20ft depth. I'm going to try some plastics and get deep. Thanks again Joe! 👊
@@PuddleWalkersOutdoors glad I can help! This time of year shakey heads and big worms can really get those bigger fish to commit on those deep drop offs and ledges.
good job Annabelle ! My money is on sugar creek being the best smallmouth fishery in indiana, unless you count our little part of lake michigan. They catch 5 and 6 pound smallmouth in lake michigan on the regular
Sugar creek is an amazing fishery and I would never take anything away from it but the White River has some sleeper locations and I'm hoping I found one of them. There's a lot of 5lb plus smallmouth in her the only problem is she's so big and most areas are private. There's some really good kayaking and boating videos but mostly from the broad ripple stretch through Indianapolis. This spot I'm at here is in close proximity of where my usual smallmouth creek pours into the river. Now this is miles from where I fish it but I believe there's a true giant here.
