I always enjoy the peace and quiet along a river or lake in the morning. Part of the whole returning to nature experience. Prefer a canoe or kayak for that reason. The whole idea of flying down the river at high speed rubs me the wrong way.
I fish a lot behind the Madison County Jail on the Athletic Park side of White River, nice Small Mouth Bass there and also decent size Channel Cat too!!
It was good to see your grandpa's name again, it's been awhile since I've seen him. Good video. You guys need to come up to Marion and put in at Charles Mill dam park and fish this stretch of the Mississinewa river, very similar to what you have in the video and has good smallmouth and largemouth if you can catch river conditions right. From one of the Hovermale's up around Salamonie and Miss.
Riverwood is where the dam is and the bridge is on Hwy 37 in Strawtown. Good fishing all down through their. Before the fish kill 15 or 20 years ago it was not uncommon to catch 4 pound Smallies in that stretch.

Spinner baits. , I used The Rebel craw fish looking lures

You could have walked along the river in just the downtown area, done just as well, and saved yourseld the trouble of hauling that boat around.

In the white river I caught a freshwater drum and redhorse suckers
